It's a shame Katamari doesn't have online co-op, Robio.
I've been indecise about my next game. Fiddled around with Deus Ex but things take a while to pick up in pace, so I got bored. Been replaying a few Defense Grid levels to earn high ranks in all of them. But as of today, my purported gaming schedule will be as follows:
The Witcher. An RPG that shits all over the rest of them.
Uncharted 2 MP has been quite fun, even if traversal playing has gone to shit after the health adjustments in post-1.04.
Demon's Souls. I'm in for a world of pain again. Second playthrough, after my 60+ hr debut. Melee based char, rerolled a knight. Will probably be DEX based.
What health adjustments? I missed all of this.
Another question, what should a beginner like me start off with in DS?
I suppose it is, though I've never really thought either the co-op or battle modes were really much fun. Maybe they'd be better online. Still the game is plenty fun solo. Most fun I've had with the series since the original.
I don't think you can Platinum the game unless someone plays with you.
I doubt I'll make it to that, but I do have a few kids I can force to play with me. That's one of the joys of parenthood you know. Force them to play co-op with you.

After the 1.04 patch, player health was dramatically decreased, which led to people camping and really fast killings, more like CoD than U2. You basically had no chance of taking cover or trying to put up a fight if your enemy started spraying lead before you. It was readjusted after 1.05, but the main premise of what i said still stands. Traversal gameplay is nowhere near what it was early on or even during the beta.
I'd recommend the Royal class. The Soul Ray spell this class has from the beginning makes things much easier at early stages of the game, when you're still adjusting to its unforgiving difficulty. Rag has a thread on DS info at the RoF. You should ask him there. The guy is a fucking DS living wikipedia.

Almost Beat Killzone 2. Still playing DQ6 - 9 hours in.
Unlocked all courses in Sonic and Sega All-Star Racing (for which there is no cheevo!).
Played World Series Baseball for XB, Shark Tale for XB and Billy Hatcher for GC. Not sure what I'll play after Killzone is finished (hopefully today, I am in the last 5 minutes of the game -- been stuck in those 5 minutes for a few hours now).
Billy Hatcher was quite good. Katamari meets SMG. I could not figure out how to get past the first level -- though I'll go back to it. Game could use a f'n tutorial.
If you can tolerate DQ6 that much, you really need to try Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light. It is so much more enjoyable than anyone I know has made it out to be!
I really did consider it when I read that you said it wasn't as bad as you had heard, but I'm not a fan of the bobble-head graphics or low-grade polygonal style that was used in FF3 or DQ Joker.
Stay away from it! It is the spiritual successor to Final Fantasy 3 and I say that in the worst way possible.
I dunno... Those games were trying to look 3D and polygonal and failed when they ended up looking a bit sterile. This game has a pleasant, colorful look to it!
I am smitten with the whole "Crown" system; there's dozens of the damn things and they pretty much span the entire Final Fantasy Universe Job Spectrum. These crowns and the proper use of them are key to succeeding in this game. It is so much more clever and challenging than a few of the recent FF games, even though it almost seems to be a Reboot, Retelling of the original in some respects.
Something I never heard about before encountering it IN the game is: You also collect Elemental Gems in your Battles (Yes, there's even a job class where you can gather even more!)... These Gems can be used to Upgrade your Crowns, leading to more Equippable Abilities, Your Weapons, Armors, Shields and more! You have quite a bit of customization in there for a FF game!!
The Inventory system can be a bit annoying, having only 15 slots to hold your Armor, Weapons, Items and SpellBooks... No, there AREN'T enough...! To me though, ultimately, it makes you plan better and strategize more just HOW you are going to approach each Dungeon and/or Journey!
I'm not saying this is DQIX caliber, but it's up there when it comes to DS RPGs!

I don't get it... I respect your opinion, but I don't get it... I'm having a ball with it and I HATED FF3...! Stiff, un-fun and ugly as it was, I STILL played it through... This game is NOTHING like that!
It was Matrix Software. Yes, the same ones that did FF3 on the DS...!
C'mon now! If you can play THAT game Mini'ed for as many hours as you did, you can CERTAINLY find some enjoyment from 4 Heroes!!

Kinda done with UC2... Sorry, buddy! For some reason, I feel like I picked it up so late in the game I was disadvantaged. Just kept on getting my ass kicked continually online!
Gonna stick with KZ3 and Crysis 2 for now!
