That IGN review of Y4 doesn't hold much water with me. The only publication that ever understood Yakuza in the states was EGM. Game Informer was the worst when it came to Yakuza.

Hmm, I wonder which franchises Capcom plan on taking a bit of a break from. The only one I can see right now would be Street Fighter. With SFIV, SSFIV, Tekken vs Street Fighter, and Street Fighter vs Tekken that should be enough to last awhile. All there other franchises are generally pretty well spaced between sequels. As for which franchises that have been dormant for awhile that they plan to return to I'm really hoping that they bring back Darkstalkers and Breath of Fire.

I'd think the ones that Inafune had direct control over. So, that's Dead Rising, Mega Man... anything else? Just so they don't get direct comparisons drawn.

Capcom has generally been pretty good about not whoring out their IP's with yearly installments. The one exception is probably Mega Man. That series has dropped in profile quite a bit, but they haven't missed a year without a Mega Man title for a long time. That's a franchise that would probably benefit with a good long time on the shelf. Street Fighter maybe too, but even it was on the shelf for so long that I don't think it's overstayed its welcome just yet.

Yeah I was debating on whether or not to mention the Mega Man franchise because I haven't followed the handheld games very closely. I guess Dead Rising and perhaps Lost Planet would also be a couple they may take a break on which is a bummer because those two franchises are so young. I'm also guessing Bionic Command will be another one put back on the shelf for awhile.

Given Lost Planet 2's reception I'd doubt a third one this generation.

Honestly beside the Inafune ones, (and SF, which you rightly mention) I'm not sure what they are talking about. In a very un-CAPCOM way they have not been milking their franchises endlessly lately.
