I got a one month trail of Gamefly. DKCR is my first game and is being sent now.
In regards to that GT5 story, the details of that patch went live:
Seasonal Events: [Seasonal Events] has been added to the upper left of the [GT Mode] - [GT Life] screen. From here you can participate in official events being held for a limited time. In these events, all participants are under the same regulations, and if you complete the event you will win rewards and experience. Compete on the leader boards with players around the world, in Time Trials and Drift Trials!
Hot Car Dealer: A [Hot Car Dealer] has been added to the left center of the [GT Mode]-[GT Life] screen. In the Hot Car Dealer you'll find popular and rare used cars. You might just come across that one car you've always been looking for, that you haven't been able to find in the [Used Car Dealer]
Online Race Rewards and Experience: When you complete a race in the [Open Lobby] or [My Lounge], you will now gain rewards and experience. Even if you are focused more on playing online, you'll still be able to gain rewards and levels that you need to progress in [GT Life].
Driving Distance and Number of Wins in Online Races: The driving distance and the number of wins you achieve when you complete a race in [Open Lobby] or [My Lounge] will now affect your stats in [Profile] and the [Garage]. Here again the results from your online play will cumulate within [GT Life]
Improved Rewards: The rewards for winning races in both A-Spec and B-Spec in [GT Mode]-[GT Life] have been increased for a limited time. (Until the end of January, 2011).
So in about a year GT5 will be the game we all hoped it would be.
Read this guys, a story from a former Rockstar employee working on RDR and what a disaster the whole experience was. The intro is sarcasm, read on.
This is just a piece of it:
So I rolled with the punches for as long as I could — but it became really difficult to ignore how ridiculous things were getting — not just for me, but for everyone. And I came to realize that I’d somehow been sucked into thinking that it was all somehow “ok”.
That is was “ok” for me to be working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week without compensation. That is was “ok” to be lied to and manipulated in the workplace. That it was “ok” to be spoken to by management as if you were child. That it was “ok” if management screamed at and abused people while their peers looked on (I wasn’t the only one). And that is was “ok” I was letting “real-life” pass me by as a result of all this.
It wasn’t “ok” — It was actually far from “ok”.
But it wasn’t until my boss took credit for my work — and politely argued with me about who had actually created it (I had the original documents on my desktop) — that I went back to my desk and started “cleaning” it — and then I realized I wasn’t cleaning it. I was packing.
I was pretty upset with him over that for a while — but I realize now he deserves my thanks — he pushed me out of hell.

Since I was clearly speaking hyperbolically I would not think it was a comment worth dissecting, but I'll explain myself. I think they are greatly under-appreciated and not in the forefront of gamers minds when it comes to thinking about studios that consistently perform at a high level. They make all these critically acclaimed games that are (with the exception of Chains) commercially ignored. They don;t even have a cult-following like CING, or Grasshopper or any other company that brings out 2-3 above average games.
So happy! I was expecting all this to drop on the Jan 19 press conference. COOOL.
I could be talking out of my behind now since I honestly do not concern myself with numbers (perhaps I should) but I was under the impression all those games had a reasonable sales performance taking into account the relative numbers for software sales on the psp (and 3rd party core games on Wii)

Link bait -- don't click it.
On the 3DS carts being 8GB, further reading indicates that they have the capacity for 1 to 8 GB. So hopefully that can keep the cost down for most games.

Just a little factoid for your enjoyment. Here are Amazon.com's Top 10 Best selling games for 2010 as of Dec. 13th - according to Entertainment Weekly:
I'll be getting mine the exact same day.
OMG, Jungle Beat is all kinds of awesome.
It is a must play for everyone that likes Galaxy. What am I saying?! Everyone loves Galaxy. Kinda like how everone loves Raymond.
Do you remember the level in Galaxy 2 where you swim in 2D, in the middle of space?! Very inventive you tought, well not really! DKJB did it first, only it is honey and it is in a level full of sweets. Kinda like the Sweet Sweet Galaxy in SMG.
Oh and remeber the airship levels in SMB3? Well in DKJB, you have something equivilent. But instead of an airship you have a fortress in a storm, and instead of wrench throwing things, you have NINJA MONKEYS. That's right NINJA MONKEYS. You can even grab one NINJA MONKEY and you see his legs move in desperation, DK then smashes the NINJA MONKEY on its head and it dissapears in a puff of smoke. So we know ninjas are awesome and the same thing applies to monkeys, but put them together and the awesomeness of the concept NINJA MONKEYS is so great, that it needs to be spelled in capitial letters.
