Congrats Homer! That's awesome. Your opinion is starting to mean something apparently
And as far as the victor for Kirby vs. DK I suspect that Kirby will win in review scores but DK will win in sales. DK has already been peaking in the low end of Amazon.com's top 100 videogame sales with over a month to go till its release. Kirby has only been on that for 11 days and never broke into the Top 20 in that time. Not entirely scientific but I've found their sales chart to be a good barometer all the same.
Kirby sucks!
Not in epic Yarn. He cannot suck at all.
DKC over Kirby and I dont care for DKC. I trust Retro and I think DKC will offer a challenge.
That Yakuza trailer is amazing! It seems like a part of the city is blocked off by the military. You can be in the normal human city or enter the zombie infested hell hole section. The action looks to be so awesome, nice to see gunplay get the spot light. It still seems to have all the side games we love in Yakuza games. The game just seems phenomenal.
WHY IS GORO MAJIMA IN A BOY BAND. WHY.
Interesting to finally see some numbers on Move. 300,000 (which was actually the high end of the estimate) was a little more than I expected to see. I was only expecting around 250K. I wonder if Sony will make an official statement about it anytime soon. Very curious why it sold in droves in Europe though. 1.5 million vs. 300K?? That's really weird.
Yeah that's what I meant. Missed a key. Still that's a huge descrepency between the two continents.
Got the new GI. Here are the scores:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now Playing: Golden Sun Dark Dawn, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and DKC Returns
Those scores seem low for TFU
FU2 looks like its going to be just like the first with a few improvements. Safe sequel is what I got out of the demo. The first was around that score so it seems about right.
I think it is interesting that our beloved console manufacturers are about to exchange poisons.
Sony and Microsoft are going to find out what it's like to have their markets flooded with motion-gimmick shovelware games and Nintendo is going to find out how hard it is is to keep third parties from flooding their 3DS with made-over (or watered down) ports from the home systems (PSP says "Hi").
Just Dance is going multiplatform!!!
Vanquish - IGN - 8.5
"The entire campaign can be completed in approximately six to seven hours, so it's not a particularly long game. Thankfully, the developers included special challenge levels where players fight wave after wave of enemies in search of a high score."
Some of the elements the dude describes makes it sound like EDF.
6-7 hours though? Sorry Platinum.... ARGGGGH!
I'll get it when it drops to $40.
Hobo power, bitches!
But seriously, if the game is well made (and I'm NOT saying it is, I haven't kept track of it, and my interest is minimal) and good at what it does, I don't really care about lenght. My playthroughs are always lenghtier than what everyone posts about anyway.
Good, lenghty game > Good, short game > Bad, short game > Bad, lenghty game.
I hope that doesn't come across as me pontificating. I'm just sharing my view.
Oh fuck, now I sound like Ask, always being sorry about something. Let me see if my balls are still there...
I don't mind the time for Vanquish as for me it's about the experience plus the demo really impressed me and it'll definitely be a game I'll play multiple times on various difficulties.
I honestly wasn't impressed by Kinect launch line-up. I wasn't expecting to, either. However, the kind of lineup shows exactly the focus of Microsoft for the remainder of the 360's life. I am actually more interested in future uses of the technology behind Kinect, beyond gaming.
Vanquish is a game I would replay a bunch of times but it is still a shame it has such a short campaign. Nothing will replace your first campaign experience, I like it to be memorable and of a good length. If I could get Vanquish, I would seriously think of renting it. I could speed run RE4 in like 4 hours or less. Imagine how fast a game will be that is about 1/3 the length of RE4, you could probably finish it in one sitting. It bothers me.
