It's real
Michael Jackson MMO being made
SEE Virtual Worlds, the developer of newly announced Michael Jackson MMO Planet Michael, is prepared for the onslaught of rotten tomatoes.
"There is no doubt we will be open to people joking about it and criticising it. We'll just have to roll with that as it comes, so to speak," SEE Virtual Worlds developer Josh Gordon told USA Today.
"[Michael Jackson's] such a big name and he's such a big legend that no matter what we do, we are going to get a lot of people who are excited, and we are going to get people who criticise us. And we have just taken that as the way it is going to be."
Planet Michael will be released late next year and allows fans of Jackson's music to adventure together and succeed "using song, dance and adventure as opposed to violence".
You'll be able to create avatars, pick from "dozens of occupations" and play on continents inspired by Michael Jackson's "music, his life and the global issues that concerned him".
The game will be free to play and monetised through micro-transactions, perhaps for clothing: famous items such as a red leather jacket, sparkly glove, some sequinned socks and maybe those gliding loafers.
Those purchases will "in certain instances" double as charitable donations.
SEE Virtual Words boss Martin Biallas expanded on the deal in a press release: "When we first approached the Estate and talked about creating Planet Michael, one of our primary goals was to build an interactive entertainment where fans from all over the world come together to affirm Michael's life-long dedication to fostering global friendships.
"In building a space worthy of those global connections, we envisaged a magical, enjoyable place that will capture the zest for fun and life that was at Michael's very core.
"Throughout his extensive career, the King of Pop was well known for his visionary contributions to music, dance, fashion, entertainment and philanthropy, and it was critical that we somehow incorporate all of those elements into the game."
Planet Michael will be the first themed planet published under the Entropia Universe umbrella.
Wow.
Just......... wow.
I would just like to state right here and now I was 100% correct when I said that Enslaved was going to be this year's Uncharted 2.
ABSOLUTELY. INCREDIBLE!
Environments, graphics look just as good, if not slightly better. Character models don't have that "dead eye" look to them; they look HUMAN!
The climbing, acrobatic action is almost identical, but the fighting seems to be better.
You get a Staff to begin with which you will be able to upgrade/customize (it seems from a quick scene in the demo)...
...but you'll also get some kind of projectile/energy bullet thingee that lends to cover system/third person shooting sequences (also seen briefly in the demo).
PLAY THIS DEMO NOW ! ! !
If you do, it may ease some of your worries over Ninja Theory and the next Devil May Cry too!
I bet if I played this game I'd be the only person with an account that can live near schools and isn't required by law to introduce themselves to the neighbors.
HOLY CRAP!
Just chiming in from vacation to say Halo Reach is fucking badass, and the best Halo hands down since Combat Evolved. Why couldn't they have all been this good? Almost a shame Bungie are giving the series away now. The game has the vibe and atmosphere that CE had, and the Aliens actually speak their own language instead of silly retarded English one-liners. Been listening to complaints, Bungie?
The difficulty, artificial intelligence, and weapon strength are all very similar to CE as well. I fucking love it. Gonna be difficult for another shooter to top this anytime soon.
Also starting playing Alan Wake, which is really great and atmospheric as well. This game can be creepy as hell....definitely more of a horror element than RE5 had. Getting chased through the woods by spooky dudes and all. The combat is also better than I thought it would be. The game reminds of Silent Hill, just better designed.
That is all.
I haven't progressed that much. Do you have the game already? If so I highly recommend you start it, especially since you've now finished Other M and Desperate Struggle. It's a really wonderful game. At this stage I'm enjoying it more than Uncharted 2

DAY ONE!!!! Someone make this movie!
The interview had the key work I was looking for, it's FREE. It will do just fine.
Everyone said the demo sucked.
I was wondering where you were, bastard. Reach sounds great, will get this gifted to me for Christmas.
You didn't wait for me.
I still have Batman, POP and some side missions on Fallout 3 to finish first.

I don't know about that, Leo!
If that turns out to be true than TWEWY will be my favorite game!

Yeah just took a little vaca, ignoring everything but gaming and the girlfriend. It was nice. Now back to the grind again...poopy. I think you'll dig Reach, the story and levels have probably the best pacing and flow of the entire series.

MEGA ROFL! It's a cat in a baseball cap 'playing' DJ Hero
Another valuable piece of kitty exploitation hits the internet
Just saw this video on the internet. It's a cat all dressed up like a homeboy 'playing' DJ Hero. It's being hyped as the new Keyboard Cat. I think that's a bit optimistic to be honest. There's not really anything else to say about it. So, like, just watch it:
If you found this amusing or entertaining in any way, may I suggest that you remain distracted from more pressing matters and visit GamesRadar's own 9 awesome animals playing video games feature. There's a slim chance that you won't be disappointed.
Top British Politician Boldly Plays Wii
While America's current leaders have only discussed but never been photographed playing video games, we've got photographic proof of the U.K.'s deputy prime minister, Nick Clegg, using a Wii sans wrist strap.
Clegg played a Wii game — possibly Wii Sports Resort, given press reports that he scored a pair of bullseyes in archery — on Monday at a Liberal Democrat party conference in Liverpool.
Caution is thrown to the wind here, as he ignores using the Wii wrist strap.
His score, and that of other Liberal Democrats, posted on the wall.
Public displays of gaming by our nations' leaders are still rare. Unlike TV-watching, or music-listening, however, gaming isn't an act you can necessarily assume they do or have a clue about. A photo here or there helps.
It's LBP2 videos, everyone watch.
That is Donkey Show at gaf, he is awesome. He has been wanting to show everyone his levels now the beta is no longer in NDA.
