You never told me which kind of doctor did you see at first. Was it a general practitioner? Was the physiotherapist you saw a technician or a physician specialized in Physical Medicine?

The most important thing here is what diagnoses have your doctors reached? You have chronic back pain, alright, but there are a good number of causes for that, ranging from muscular to inflammatory to vertebral and everything in between.

The page you linked here offers a wide variety of services, but there's no use for them unless you know the underlying cause of your back pain.

What kind of assessment did you undergo with the physician?

GP, he basically told me to take my shirt off. About 10 seconds of looking later he decides its muscular, refers me to a physio. She does the same, a 10 second look and a 15 second press around. 4 sessions later of basically me telling her how I'm doing her BS stretches and exercises and she says it must be something medical, she can't help and refers me back to the GP.

GP tells me the same crap as the first time I saw him, with a 10 second look over, then sends me for more blood tests. This is all from June 2009 to present day. All he can do is offer me addictive prescription painkillers. I just got a posture brace in the mail today, seems to help, it pulls the shoulders back.

Yeah,  I think you need to find a doctor that's not an idiot. I'm trying to find a new guy myself. It was amazing the stuff he misdiagnosed or ignored and when I finally badgered him enough he referred me to someone competent that successfully diagnosed some of my problems like instantly. I was so pissed that my regular guy had been telling me the wrong things to do or had been insisting that "oh yeah that's just natural."

Find someone else if he's not helping you.

It's not so easy on the NHS, you have a cachement area of doctors you are allowed to register with in your local area. I used to have a really great doctor, I moved 2 miles away and wasn't allowed to stick with him.

I just went outside (at twilight) and saw the shapes of hundreds of large black birds flying about 100 meters of the ground, going from South to North.  But they were so quiet, and they kept coming, for about 20 minutes.  Ultimately there had to be thousands of them.

As they were silent, which is unusual for a large gathering of birds, I had a closer look and turns out they were bats.  I could hear some of their wings flapping.  They were not Flying Foxes, which chatter and scream constantly, but proper bats, and their sillouettes were just as Batman's insignia.

All the birds were strangely silent while this went on.  They knew what was up.

They could sense I was playing Batman.

Fuuuu. Almost one year and the only diagnosis is "muscular"? Has he ever thought about referring you to an Orthopaedist or a Physical Medicine/Rehab specialist? In my humble opinion, your workup should have included vertebral column imaging studies also. You can't go from "it's muscular" to "it's psychological" without a proper workup.

Third night in a row up till 3 am.

Saw the doctor yesterday. Stupid bastard had the cheek to ask it if was "psychological". What a penis, yeah its all in my fucking head you prick. The shitty physiotherapist you referred me to was barely out of school, offered no decent advice, I followed all her exercises and stretches for well over a month and it got worse, so kay, thanks.

Now I have to have go to hospital tomorrow for more blood tests. At this rate I'm, going to be in a wheelchair by Christmas and the first thing I'll do is take out a malpractice suit against this prick.

Now I'm looking into expensive private treatment and I don't even know what I should be looking for.

That sucks to hear. I wish you the best.

Oh yeah started up Arkham Asylum. Wow at the graphics, superb detail and polish. Love the cartoon voice actors.

The camera is fabulous in the way it moves about framing the action, except when you walk up to and talk to a character when it cuts instead of seamlessly moving like it usually does.

The controls are really well worked too. The opening was impressive but less so because it was copy of Chronicles of Riddick basically. The metroid like scanner is nice, not as good as metroids scanner but nice all the same. It's sort of an auto-scanner that should have been adopted ages ago in more games, prince of persia could certainly use one.

It's a great production and they go out of their way to try and make you feel like a badass, to feel like batman.

My only problem is that the actual gameplay almost feels like its halfway between proper control and QTE. It's like sitting on the border between proper gameplay and almost insulting.

You vaguely point batman in the general direction of a bad guy, hit the X button and batman sort of magnetically leaps towards him doing all sorts of cool looking moves, capped off with some slow mo, close up. And I'm sitting there thinking - I only hit the X button a couple of times.

Then the stealth stuff, zooming up to the ceiling. Again you sort of vaguely point batman towards a gargoyle, an icon pops up, you hit the button, hit it again, then an indicator pops up "kill bad guy" you press the button and batman kills bad guy. It's almost QTE.

Still it's pretty cool so far, but I can't see myself giving it anything over like an 8.9 if the rest of the gameplay remains this simple.

Like MGS have fun with the stealth segments, experiment, play around with the guards. The combat is surprisingly deep if you try to chain a combo. Try the challange modes and come back and say this game has simple gameplay.

*Remember, you have been warned!*

Old but still a classic, very nice.

No the bastard hasn't referred to any of that. He said on Wednesday night, "I don't know what I can do to help you. But I'm positive it will get better." And I'm like, "Hooooooooooow?" Considering it's been getting worse and the exercises haven't been helping. And he's like... let me retry the blood tests we took a year ago to see if anything has changed. No mention of Ortho, Chiropracter, Rhemetology.

I've been wearing the posture support for the past 4 hours or so. Seems to help a lot. But wont be of much use when I have to lie down. I hope it relieves the over stretching/pressure and allows the muscles or discs to heal.

What's a Witcher 2 and why should I care?

Witcher 1 was an awesome (or so I'm told) PC game. The port of that game was cancelled but the sequel is coming to consoles, yay.

Will do. I'm not sure if I should continue right away or go back to Fallout 3. There are still some missions I want to complete there. What are the challenge modes?

Oh yeah played about an hour and a half of Red Steel 2. Pretty damn good. Level design is not a problem.

Shush, Gamespot and 1up don't count.

There are a boatload of 9s, a good chunk of 8.5s and only a couple of 7s.

FFXIII got worse reviews.

Sony details differences between Wiimote and Move: Wiimote use is like walking in a room with your eyes shut

"An analogy for that -- [the Wii Motion's general input] -- is if you close your eyes and try to walk across the room. You know you're going forward but you're really not sure where you are in space. You're kind of stumbling.  That's why they end up doing a lot of gestures where you swing forward and swing left. We're more of a spatial device. We can do quick gestures. But at the same time, we also have the smooth positionings. So we can do another level of gameplay where you can fake left and then go under and low. You can do complex motions that don't just trigger gestural inputs, but move how you move." - Anton Mikhailov, a software engineer in research & development at SCE

I like how he completely ignores the existence of MotionPlus.

She is not that Bond chick, thats a porn star, got some crazy images there. I just searched and the model is Vikki Blows, she is more of that Nuts magazine type model I believe.
