Wow..... that Sakura Wars trailer really did have some of the worst voice acting I've ever heard. My ears still hurt after watching it.  Thank god you can have Japanese voices with subtitles.... Wow that just sucked.

And check out those first day sales in Japan for HoD: Overkill!!! 3,600 copies!!  That's almost double what the game did in America after 6 months right?

Oh and just as an FYI Scribblenauts for the second day in a row has been #2 on Amazon's top 100 games only behind Halo: EHSTDTOF. I'll say it again, million seller!

PlatinumGames boss Tatsuya Minami has attempted to ease fears that the PS3 version of Bayonetta won't match up.

Writing on PlatinumGames' website, he put eventual differences between PS3 and Xbox 360 down to console "peculiarities", and said demos of both versions will do the talking at the Tokyo Game Show next week.

"With Bayonetta, we created the Xbox 360 version of the game first, and then handed off all the data and other assets to SEGA so they could begin the process of porting Bayonetta to the PS3, giving them advice regarding the porting process along the way and overseeing the progress to ensure that the PS3 version would be the best it could be," wrote Minami.

"The goal was to release the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions to gamers day and date, and even though there have been trials and tribulations along the way, we are incredibly pleased to be able to present two playable versions of the game on the Tokyo Game Show floor."

Concerns arose after PlatinumGames showed the PS3 version for the first time in Japan last month. Eye-witnesses - like 1UP - reported a clear difference between console demos, calling the PS3 game "very blurry" with an unstable framerate.

"As the developers of Bayonetta, we have overseen both versions, and I would like to make one thing clear. The Xbox 360 and PS3, as hardware platforms, both have their own distinct differences and peculiarities, and these characteristics will naturally give birth to differences in the final product," Minami explained.

"However, all involved endeavoured to exploit the specific traits of each console to create an enjoyable experience. We feel the best way to evaluate this is by actually playing the game for yourself and coming to your own conclusions.

"Bringing Bayonetta to users of both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 is something we feel to be very important, and I feel passionately that we have fulfilled our responsibility in that regard," he added.

Bayonetta launches on PS3 and 360 in late October across Japan, although the West won't see the action game until early next year. And look good Bayonetta does, as recent media and hands-on impressions will testify.

Gamasutra's weekly column, "Saling The World", covers the top five sellers for every available platform in the United States, Japan, and Europe, providing an important update of sales patterns worldwide.

This week's charts, with data taken from September 17th, 2009, find Scribblenauts heading cross-platform sales in North America, while The Beatles: Rock Band remains a top seller on multiple consoles.

Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows:

Nintendo Wii
North America: 1. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 2. The Beatles: Rock Band (MTV Games), 3. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), 4. Guinness World Records (Warner Bros.), 5. Wii Fit (Nintendo).

Japan: 1. Forever Blue 2: Umi no Yobigoe (Nintendo), 2. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 3. Monster Hunter 3 Classic Controller Bundle (Capcom), 4. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), 5. Monster Hunter 3 (Capcom).

UK: 1. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 2. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), 3. Wii Fit (Nintendo), 4. Guitar Hero 5 (Activision), 5. Wii Play (Nintendo).

Wii Sports Resort reclaims the top Wii sales spot in North America this week, though last week's winning title The Beatles: Rock Band remains a strong seller at second place.

Wii Fit moves up to capture third place in today's sales results at Amazon, as Wii Fit drops to fifth place in the regional rankings.

Xbox 360
North America: 1. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (Sega), 2. The Beatles: Rock Band (MTV Games), 3. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (Activision), 4. Batman: Arkham Asylum (Eidos), 5. NHL 10 (EA Sports).

I played the NG Sigma 2 demo last night. I had played the first three levels of the 360 version and it was the weirdest thing, I didnt care for it, it did not feel right. Well Sigma 2 feels right, it felt like I was playing NG1 again.

Best demo I have played all year, it has a ton of content. You can play as the chick which I feel plays excellently. You get to try out these co-op mission modes which are bad ass. The main demo comes in multiple difficulty modes. It's incredible.

Damn that Body Harvest article is fun.

Nintendo wanted them to make it an RPG. Took them out to Japan, then the game released alongside Zelda and Banjo and had archaic graphics. And LOL at this:

For example, it was actually possible to be killed by a save point. At one particularly creative stage in the game, a missile would land to mark the successful completion of a stage. However, gamers unlucky enough to be standing in a particular spot would be blown out into the ocean where they would slowly drown. “They would then have to replay two hours of the game,” White notes with a slightly nervous laugh. Gamers unfortunate enough to have suffered this fate could consider themselves to have truly taken part in the Body Harvest experience.

It was a good game though, despite its quirks. It was a 3D GTA type game with giant bugs and super soldiers. In fact thinking about it, I can almost compare it to GTA Chinatown wars, if the game could be polished up and honed you could have something great fun to play.
