Wow! That's quite the impressive package you got there, Robio!
...oh! and the games are cool too!...
You've gotta like the Rogue-Like games to play Izuna.
(Did you play/enjoy Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon?)
The Izuna games are TOUGH, but full of boob jokes and innuendo.
I like them (and the Shiren the Wanderer games), but I seem to be in the minority on that one.
As a father, I think you would find a lot to love in DQV!
Leo pretty much summed it up. It's a dungeon crawler. You either like those types of games or you do not. Not much in between. Can't say much about the quality myself, but I'll give you some impressions this week.
Why thank you. And as impressive as it is, it's going going to get even mind bogglingly large. 2 more games are on the way.
*adjusts monocle* *Stares at Robio's package. *
Why yes, it's an impressive package in its own right.
I decided to take a break from WSR, and play a bit more of the other game I bought this week: Wario Land: Shake It!
I'm really enjoying this game a lot. The graphics and animation are fantastic, but it could use more paralax scrolling (most Snes games have more paralax than this game, which is sad). The levels seem to be a bit too easy at first, but I soon realized that the real challenge will be in completing all of the games challenges 100 percent (some of the early ones that I've attempted have taken me a number of tries to achieve). The motion controls work well enough, but it doesn't always register my shakes--you really have to shake the hell out of the Wii Remote to get it to register sometimes, which is kinda annoying. I'm only a couple hours in, but it's a very fun game that brings back a lot of what I loved about the 16-Bit generation.
The game is a steal for the measly $20 I paid for it.
that's nice to hear especially after how harshly reviewed the game was upon release. it's a shame over here it disappeared before it got cheap enough to make it less of a risky purchase.
edit: makes me sad to remember all 4 of my wario land games (for GB, GBC and GBA) got lost when my flat was broken into ... among lots of other great games

That platform at the back is dangerous, it's like a kid killer trap. They see Pikachu, jump on the back laughing and then when the van hits a bump in the road they fall off at 50mph and die.
Where?
*gets microscope out of closet*
Oh yes, good things DO come in small packages.
Now is the winter of our discontent. Er...... I mean content.
Animal crossing Fireworks show tonight at 7pm!
Anyone want to meet up?
Also:
Holy.......... new furniture in Gracies shop in the city. It has a witches outfit and hat too for Halloween. The theme seems to be a sweet/cake/fairytale vibe.

Sorry your games were stolen, that's awful.
Wario Land: Shake it! still goes for $40 at most stores here. I picked my copy up earlier this week on Gamestop's crazy two-day inventory reduction sale where they cut the price of a bunch of games in half; they also temporarily sold SFIV for $20. Unfortunately, both games are back up to their normal, near-full price.
The only other Wario game I've played was the Virtual Boy Wario Land. I remember it being quite similar to Shake It!, minus the shaking, of course. It was a very fun game too.
Wow. Its like the controller Nintendo should have designed back in 1996!
Opening AC gates now 4 fireworks.
So far, I like it a lot! It's definitely more light-hearted than past Suikodens, but it feels right as a DS adventure/RPG. I love artwork and graphics. This is one of the most beautiful DS games I've played...actually, IT IS the most beautiful DS game I've played. The artwork and animation outweighs the shortcomings...like the atrocious one-dimensional voice acting of the main guy--you're right Leo, it's terrible!
Like I said, the artwork alone and the game's production values more than make up for its shortcomings. This and DQV will keep me busy for a loooong time on the DS, which is what I need right now since I travel around a lot lately.
Need more though. I wonder how FF Echoes of Time and some of the other RPGs like Avalon Code is? Need to check them out as well!

Avalon Code has some incredibly unique ideas; namely capturing elements of the world in a book to rebuild the world after it ends. You can manipulate your weapons, people, items, armor, etc, by adding the elements you capture to the different object's grid. You can make Flaming Swords, Elemental Armor; You can weaken your enemies or change their elemental attribute. It's incredibly creative and plays like a Zelda/Alundra game --B-U-T-- The book is literally thousands of pages long. You have limited space in your inventory to move elements around. You have four slots, for example. Often though, you need to add MORE than four elements to a key, object or person. You need to move elements out of your inventory, while adding things into it... Often (1)You don't have room in your inventory or (2)You can't FIND the elements you need (they are shaped like puzzle pieces and they need to FIT where you need to place them) and (3)You find yourself flipping through page after page after page simply trying to find what you need! Sometimes you even think you have a piece you don't and you just waste 20 minutes searching your inventory! It's a brilliant idea and I look forward to a sequel, but without an index or more efficient way to manage your inventory, the game just becomes (sadly) unplayable!
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time improves the game play of the last, but loses any real story elements the last one barely had. Imagine it like a loot RPG where you can forge weapons and armor and equip them (visibly) on your character. The magic system still uses the stacking rings system the last one had. The game play is still best suited for multi-player. I wouldn't even try to play this on a regular DS. There's a lot of diagonal movement in the game and the DS control pad doesn't do well with this. You get a handful of different races to play; it has multi-player between DS and the Wii... I like the game and the reviews have been as high as A (from 1up) to as low as the 60's from other sites. I like it, but there's too many other, better games to play right now.
As for FF Echoes...it sounds like the first one. They're not bad games but I'd rather play Diablo II or Dungeon Siege 2 if I want hack and slash.
Have you played that Chrono Trigger wannabe game yet, what was called, Black Sigil or something like that? That looks interesting. But I hear that the random battles are too much though.
