What is all this moustache worshipping? My avatar is of the ultimate facial hair maestro, Ming the Mercilless!
You will all bow to my will Defenders...
I dont think he's a dick. I understand what he's saying. Basic IMs have a better method of connecting people and seeing if they are online. Wii needs a system to do this across all games. But you can still have online co-operative games and they can still be fun, its just a little more hassle to arrange them with friends. But you can still dive into most online games with strangers anyway like in Mario Kart, Conduit and FPS like MOHH2 etc.
Valve have always come with creative excuses though, like why they dont make PS3 versions of their games for instance. Anyhow, Grinder looks tons better than the Conduit, which I'm selling on ebay as we speak.
Anyhow:

Sony CEO and executive VP, Nobuyuki Oneda, has revealed that production costs for the PS3 have dropped since its 2006 release by 70 percent.
"The cost reduction since we introduced the PS3 is very substantial and this is on schedule," said Oneda in a recent investors conference call.
Oneda was cagey on specifics, saying: "We don't disclose how much of the PS3, specifically the cost deduction was achieved during the past two years. But that is on schedule."
But he went on to disclose production costs on the Blu-ray-capable machine are down "about 70%, roughly speaking".
As noted, although Sony never officially revealed the cost price of PS3s at launch, it was widely believed to cost around $800 or around £430 per unit to produce. That puts current cost price at around £140.
So we may see that £299 price tag on 80GB PS3s fall soon.
So where is the f******* price cut godamnit?
Oh please. The only think faker than Ming's moustache was Flash Gordon's voice (seriously Sam Jones' voice got dubbed over by another guys after filming was done).
fake moustache = fake idol
I watch the cartoon so your point is mute!
You know, I'll be curious to see what happens when the price does drop. It'll get a big rush of sales for the first month, but I wonder what'll happen if it can't sustain it. Fact is PS3 still doesn't have a good image. The brand took a lot of PR damage during its first year on the market by the mainstream media due to its cost. Sony is going to have to drop some serious bank on a new marketing campaign to remind the casual gaming audience on why it's a good buy, otherwise they're not going to get a long-term punch in the arm that they really need.
Dragon Quest IX continued its domination of the Japanese software chart this week with sales that are dropping, but still far exceeding those of its competition.
The Nintendo DS game sold 270,000 units, down on the 613,000 figure of the previous week but still easily enough to keep the title in the number one position for a third week running.
Its nearest contender, Friend Collection sold 74,000 copies to move it two places up the chart from last week's number four. Wii Sports Resort, meanwhile, sold a near identical number to retain its number three position.
New entries for the week included Nintendo's Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! Happy Richie Oosouji, which entered at number five with 35,000 sales; and Katamari Damacy Tribute for PlayStation 3, which débuted at number six.
Ketekyoo Hitman Reborn is another new entry, which takes its place at number seven with 28,000 copies sold.
In the hardware chart, the Nintendo DS retained its familiar number one position with sales only slightly down from last week - 92,747 compared to 96,986.
The PlayStation Portable meanwhile saw a significant sales increase, selling 30,523 in comparison to the previous week's 24,053.
Nintendo Wii sales were also slightly up, to 23,995 from 20,807. A further sales increase could be felt in time for next week's chart following the release of the much anticipated Monster Hunter 3 onto the platform on August 1.
Sales for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 remained very similar to last week's, and all three systems remained in the same chart positions.
The full Media Create software chart for the period July 20-26 is as follows:
The Media Create hardware chart for the same period is as follows:
they should at the very least bundle sports resort with the motion plus add on (without removing the original wiisports, can't fuck about with that ) with it now

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Oh, nothing. I was just trying to be facetious regarding that as long as I don't have the game, I will pay no attention whatsoever to anything else offered in the platform.
He's not a dick. Even if the core gameplay is similar, the whole concept of the game revolves around the basic premise of multiplayer. Arranging such meetings on the Wii is basically fucked up.
And Valve doesn't make PS3 ports because Gabe Newell shits on the platform.
Is this actually in doubt? Monster Hunter Tri already has over 1 million presales in Japan. Wii will hit at least 50K in sales next week. It won't sustain it long, but there's no doubt that the game will push out more consoles in a big way.
And he's a dick too!
I think the price increase was only in the UK because of the staggering devaluation of the pound thanks to our asslike government. I mean dvds which I used to import for 10 now cost £13 so its almost a third more expensive to import goods. The price increase was £20 and supposedly the price hike only effects the cost the retailers have to pay Nintendo per wii.
I dont think its been passed on to consumers yet.
Sports resort didn't have a massive impact so it will be interesting to see what Monster Hunter 3 does. Maybe people were aware that MH3 was coming and with an all new colour to boot?
PS3 was boosted for a couple of months by RE5 and Yakuza 3 double whammy.
Yeah Steel is right, you need to be able to just be able to see which of your friends are online from the dashboard or from an overlaying menu whilst you're playing a game, any game.
Instead unless you arrange something in advance you basically have to be online and have the same game running at the same time to play friends. Otherwise you play with strangers.
what about disgaea 3 for £17?
gameplay.co.uk has a bit of a sale. some really cheap X360 games as well GG, like ninja gaiden 2, banjo, and viva pinata paradise for £8 each, or too human for £5

I thought it was a pretty good beat 'em up. I do think the gamplay of the NES games were a bit better since they focused on platforming more.
Here's a video of that NG "Continue?" scene
Here's a little bit of the difference. Wii Sports Resort has sold around 750,000 copies over the past 3 weeks or so, and will continue to sell well for a while. Monster Hunter Tri already has more presales than that. This is also the series first time appearing on the Wii. This game is going to move hardware.
NG2, camera and difficulty.
Banjo, vehicles.
Viva Pinata part-ee? The minigame one?
Too Human .........
I was thinking of getting Overlord 2 and Fable 2 recentely because I love the similar art style in Dark Legend.
i'd get fable 2 if i had a 360. you can also find the first overlord for under a tenner

Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise. Is basically an expansion, so if you never played the first one, 8 quid for this one would net you a good number of hours of enjoyment, provided you can stomach the micromanagement. If you did play the firs VP, 8 pounds is still 3 or 4 pounds too expensive.
The mini game one is Party Animals. I own that one too.
