Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games - more screens, balance board bobsledding details
You'll be able to use the Balance Board in the bobsleigh event in Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games.
Yes, a new Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games screenshot shows Mario, Sonic, Luigi and Amy Rose racing around a track in in a bobsleigh. To control your team of four, you can sit on your Balance Board and steer by shifting you weight from left to right. You'll also be able to play the game if you don't have a Balance Board.
Other confirmed events so far include alpine skiing, snowboarding and, as you can see in the other new screenshot, speed skating. We can see Mario taking on Sonic on the Vancouver track and it looks as though they're neck and neck as they approach the finish line. Who will win?
Mario & Sonic At The Winter Olympic Games will be released for Wii and DS in late 2009. Are you looking forward to it?

With all the great games out recentely this should be £17, not Madworld. I will pick up Tenchu only if its cheaper than £20.
It was suppossed to release a month ago BTW. Now its missed its chance really.
Balance board sledding would be so cool. And curling could be like Wii bowling. I hope SEGA aren't lazy. If they include motionplus and add some stuff, skis and what not they could make a decent game.
Thanks Iggy.
Yes you are! You saw my crying way before, only you had other poopy stuff to do. Like poop.
I'll play the DS version of the game. Simple.
Just finished Bioshock. Wow.
What the crap? So the dream of Shenmue 3 is dead forever. Yu, noooooooooooooooooo!
Oh wow at the Grand Slam tennis video. Looks like a proper tennis game.
Er still dont know what the FFCC videos are about. Lame.
It is now time for unintentional comedy, with DarthHomer!
Oh wow.
Hey guys, Darth, there is a good multi format Virtua Tennis 09 preview here. Sounds like a really great dilemma, choosing between Grand Slam tennis and Virtua Tennis 09. It depends if VT uses motionplus.
http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/969/969451p1.html
And the gameplay itself? Sumo's lent an attentive ear to the rabble of forums and addressed several key complaints with Virtua Tennis 3, while some of the improvements elsewhere in the game also feed into the on-court action.
All of which adds up to a comprehensive package for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners that's likely to be the best . However, for all the splendour of the high definition versions, it's the Wii iteration that SEGA's most proud of – and it's easy to see why. Every one of the features listed in this preview is present and correct in the Wii version (okay, bar the 1080p bit – Wii owners will have to make do with 480p), and Virtua Tennis's debut on Nintendo's console is looking quite spectacular.
Forgoing the temptation to add bobble-heads to the player roster, Virtua Tennis 2009 is instead a remarkably faithful port of the game, with the all-important Wii carefully implemented. Wii Tennis is an obvious reference point for the mechanics of the game - hit early and the ball will veer to the left, hit late and it will swing right – but Virtua Tennis 2009 takes the formula one step further by adding some helpful visual feedback, giving players an onscreen bar that reflects their timing. It's a simple solution, but one that works exceptionally well.
SEGA won't confirm or deny whether the game will support Wii Motion Plus, but if Sumo does manage to feature the eagerly awaited add-on Virtua Tennis 2009 would get the jump on EA's Grand Slam Tennis by a whole month - providing Nintendo release the peripheral in time for the game's May release. Either way, and on whichever console, Virtua Tennis 2009 could well be one of the highlights of the gaming summer.
What is up with this Indy interview?
GS: How will the game differ between platforms in terms of gameplay?
MV/JS: On the DS the player will use the stylus for navigation, puzzle solving, and combat. Additionally, the microphone is used in both single-player and multiplayer cipher labyrinth gameplay. The PSP utilizes Havok in physics-based environmental challenges where the gameplay can be different each time you play it depending on what you do. On the PS2 you'll be able to use the analog stick to bring whipped enemies in close for a little payback. And on the Wii the player will "be" Indiana Jones by utilizing the gesture system of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. You'll be able to steer vehicles, fly planes, drive tanks, and escape sudden death in a raft. Players will also be able to play co-op with a friend in a separate storyline as well as unlocking two- to four-player versus mode. And last but definitely not least, you are able to unlock the classic Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis game and play it for the first time ever on the Wii platform!
Why make the PSP game based on physics when you have a system that can handle physics based object manipulation and has more power in the Wii. No its just gestures based waggle. The stupidity is mind boggling.
