Well, after resizing those pics to double, it seems that all of the gameplay of Excite Truck will be in this game, only even more over-the-top. According to the article, the Bots adds a lot of originality to the game, and made it more fun to play.
I hope this is all true. I want to see some videos . . . NOW!
Not sure about the bots thing. Makes it look like shovelware. Too PS1 like in concept - lets make robot racing bots.
I would have prefferred more trucks but a better game. Those screens are ass, but really tiny though. I saw videos of Excite truck and they had huge environments with deforming terrain so I'm interested in seeing it in motion too.
Leading video games publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., today announced The Munchables an entertaining romp into a colorful and delicious action adventure for Wii. Exploring rich and vibrant environments, players will devour delectable enemies as they guide their quirky heroes in this zany alien munching mash-up filled with fun and addictive gameplay. The Munchables will chomp its way to stores this May.
"NAMCO BANDAI Games is thrilled to provide such a fun and exciting addition to the vast library of quality Wii titles," said Todd Thorson, director of marketing and public relations for NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. "With colorful characters and eye-popping worlds, The Munchables will delight players of all ages."
The home planet of the hungry Munchables is at stake when it is invaded by the evil Don Onion and his vicious band of space pirates. As their lively planet has been usurped, the embattled Munchables have only one hope; to devour their food enemies to grow large enough to defeat Don Onion and inevitably return peace to their captive land.
In The Munchables, players are called upon to eat and defeat over 150 insidious enemies who have taken over the planet including Eggplanter, Space Shroom and Rice Baller. With each fallen foe, the daring omnivorous Munchables grow in size and power in their brave struggle. In this tantalizingly addictive game, players can also enjoy Mirror Mode, where stages are in reverse order and they must beat the clock in order to save the world. Eating your way to take on Don Onion and his delicious minions, The Munchables will leave you hungry for more!

Munchables looks horrible. It looks like a PS1 game. Seriously I thought it was Spyro the Dragon. If it's WiiWare that's fine, but if they're planning on releasing this as a retail game then they've lost their minds.
A portion of a VideoGamer interview with Sonic and the Black Knight director Tetsu Katano….
Tetsu Katano said:
VG: What kind of things would you have done differently (in Sonic Unleashed)? Will we see the Werehog again?
TK:For the improvements, I can’t think of anything right now off the top of my head. If I think of any ideas then Sonic Unleashed 2 will be the time for that, so I don’t really have an answer for that. But you will see the Werehog again. I like Secret Rings very much, but when it came to making this title [Sonic and the Black Knight] we chose to do something different. All the good things about Secret Rings belong to that specific game. So in the same way, unless we’re going to make Sonic Unleashed 2 you might not see him again. But if we are going to make it, you might see him again. It’s a possibility.

I think I will wait on the previews and hear who is actually developing this. After looking at the screens I'm not oppossed to the style, just curious about how it plays. I saw Dewy for £10 the other day. My curiosity always gets me interested.
I think Sonic Team is living in some kind of bubble where they hear none of the complaints that people have about their games. I've only heard negative things about the Werehog, yet Sonic Team is continuing on with the idea in a new game? WTH?
Well it looks like I won't even be renting Matt Hazard. Oh well.
I guess I better pick-up a DSi as soon as it hits the shelves because Nintendo says so. That's a surprise. I was planning on doing that anyway though.
I thought you already had a DS?
Yeah but I want a DSi because it's well much better.
Do you have a lite or phat? I dont see many advantages of DSi over Lite. You lose the gba slot.
I have a DS Lite. I really like the fact that it has two cameras, picture and sound editing/saving features, and bigger screens. I'm sure there will be some games that use those features. Plus doesn't it also support downloadable DSi-ware games. To be honest I only used the GBA slot a couple of times at first but my interest in playing those games completely fell off the chart so it's not something that I'll miss at all.
Nothing to check out really except for an announcement... I can't even find a video online of the original game. I did see some screenshots of the cancelled DS version, though... if it looks anything like that it should be okay.
I've never really understood why so many people liked the game. I guess there's a cool concept in there, but I just remember the controls were so horrible in the original NES version that I found it to be unplayable.

Yeah, I'm not sure about those Bots either.
Super Red Bar? WTF? I fear they have strayed waaay too far from its Excite Bike/Truck roots.
I dont care for werehog, this is horrible news.

Just watched the Excitetruck video review.
Huge environments and really fast.
Rise of the Triad: Dark War Re-release Trailer
Are they really re-releasing ROTT on PC? Cool! That was a very fun game. They should release it on XBL/PSN/and WiiWare too.

Oh shit yeah! King of Fighters XII hitting 360/PS3 this July. That is totally awesome news. Definate day one purchase for me.

Epic Pikmin ripoff.
