A 90 day pause on the tariffs seems like it puts Nintendo in a rough spot. Things can still go either way after 90 days but Nintendo needs to figure out the price real soon since they are sticking to the June 5th launch. They should probably keep the initial price the same and hope for the best.

Just read an article in which was claimed that should apple bring production of the iPhone to the US the price would rise by 300%.

Trump doesn't have the patience to see this through. It'd take years for companies to bring production to the US. I'm sure every big company is thinking the same. I'm sticking with my assumption that this is just a move to get the higher ground in negotiations, but if other countries show patience and resolve, this could backfire big time.

Of course Nintendo always sells at a profit. I feel like they will adjust the price with the assumption that the tariffs be in effect and leave nothing to chance.

I saw a NBC news video specifically about Switch 2. The analyst said it would cost billions and take 5 years for Nintendo to begin producing consoles in American.

And that still wouldn't work as most parts are manufactured in Asia and would have to be imported anyway.

I don't think America has the right skills and resources to develop advanced microchips like Tawain and Korea can.

I'm not sure if any of you guys are aware of the adult Happy Meals that McDonald's is doing for the Minecraft Movie, but whoever put the plan into motion should probably get their quarterly bonus. I've had to pop into McDonald's twice over the past couple days, and it's been insane seeing how many people are picking these things up.

Granted, the location I visited was directly across the street from a major university, so you couldn't do better than that place in hitting the target market - AKA young adults who grew up playing Minecraft as kids. But both times I've dropped in they were packed and people were leaving with one or two of these Happy meals.

And they're actually kind of expensive. My son got one and it was $16 for one with a large drink and large fries. From what I can tell, that's a $5 surcharge for getting the box and toy. Anyway, good on them. Even in these turbulent times, McDonald's is apparently still a safe investment.

Just watching a CNN video now, analyst says it would take 30 billion dollars and 3 years to move 10% of iPhone production to the U.S

Nintendo Switch "Pro" - a literal Switch console with an improved processor and more memory, was used for testing Game Chat.

I was astonished to discover that Tokunaga-san’s team had already been conducting similar research. (Laughs) So we decided to make a prototype, but at the time, Switch 2 hadn't even taken shape yet, so the research was done on a Switch console with increased memory and an improved CPU. Because both teams had done so much research in advance, the prototype was completed in only six months, give or take.

They made the Switch Pro for employee use only. I can't. It was real the whole time.

(From Ask The Developer 17: Game Chat, Part 1. Hopefully not geoblocked.)

So why didn't they bother releasing a Switch Pro?

I had no desire to visit a McDonald's in Paris though they seemed to be everywhere.

Agreed

Agreed. They are in a tough spot. I am optimistic that in the end the US will get to import cars into Japan and the tarrifs with JP will go away.  Just like with Australia, if they start to buy US beef and pork theor tarrifs will go away also.

What I don't get is how relatively cheap the Switch 2 is in Australia ($430 USD) it gives credence to the analysis that the thing costs Nintendo $400 to make.

The only people buying American cars in Japan already have them. And, similarly, no one is going to buy American pork or beef in Australia.

Nintendo are using the present economic comedy as a smokescreen for price gouging, there's really nothing else to it.

There's all kind of rumours going, they say the OLED dock design was for a Pro version as it has 4k output and other stuff.

Looks like this team was just experimenting in house, the way Modders have with Switch 1. Over clocking it and adding memory etc.

Someone actually got Arkham Knight running fine on an OG switch modded.

What would you do with spare micro sd cards? I'm thinking of selling my OLED to fund new Switch 2 stuff.

The Switch 2 only uses Express cards.

My phone doesn't let me have expandable storage.

I hardly use the tablet.

If you're not going to keep your OLED just sell them along with it. Either that or follow Martha Stewart's guide for turning them into cufflinks.

I'm likely to keep my Switch 1 forever. Switch 2 is using emulation for Switch 1 backwards compatiblity. In the video below, MVG's (he worked with Nightdive Studios for a number of years) take away is that Switch 2 will not be fully backwards compatible, especially for third party games similar to how Xbox 360 couldn't run every OG Xbox game.

These cards weren't cheap. I feel like I'd have to raise the sales price then.

I left it too late to make the Wii to Wii u transition. Now my VC games are all locked on OG Wii.

If you get switch 2, I'm guessing I'll have to transition my account over from switch 1.

Would I still be able to access my collection on switch 1 after the transfer?

So what are the Yakuza games like?

I've always been curious and now they are becoming more accessible to Nintendo platformers I might pick one up when cheap.

It's always looked like Shenmue with beat em up sections? Is that right?
