This weekend I've been mostly fighting demons in Doom The Dark Ages (PS5). I'm really loving this game. I wasn't sure I'd like the pary system but it's awesome. Easily my favorite of the modern Doom trilogy. id Tech 8 is extremely well optimized. DF posted a nearly 90 minute interview with id Software about the tech and game. Impressive stuff.

I'm also still playing Oblivion Remastered and Gran Turismo 7 too.

This weekend I finished up getting all the achievements for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Still can’t believe how absolutely fantastic this game turned out to be. Also played some Capcom Fighting Collection 2. Do very much love these collections that Capcom have been putting out.

I beat another FMV game, this one called The Complex.  Not bad, but not as good as The Late Shift, which was made by the same team.

Also picked up Project Warlord for Steamdeck since it was under $2 and played that for a while.

Struggling to find a game that sticks right now, so going to give Hogwarts a good go.

A friend of mine just passed away. He had medical issues, severely overweight and such, still this was sudden. Obviously I'm devastated, crazy when it's someone your age. Sad

I don't say this much Thank you all for being around all these years, it's a blessing to have.

Sorry to hear that Vader.  Stuff like that's a real reality check.

As for us still hanging around here, don't worry, I'll be sure to switch the lights off when all of you old farts have passed away in a decade or 4.

Sorry to hear this. A friend of mine gave.me a scare when he disappeared for a few days and no one could contact him. I've known him 35 years. I thought he'd had a heart attack or something. Very sobering but thankfully he showed up again.

Switch 2 is like 2 and a half weeks away.

My screen protector arrived and its godamn huge. I know the screen has bezels but the protector covers the whole surface. You can tell this thing is going to be large even compared to the OLED.

I ordered Cyberpunk, a charging grip for OG joycons and a carrying case/sling bag.

I used to use those rectangular cases and then put that hard case in a bag. But hardly ever used it outside the house.

For this gen I decided a small hard sling bag would be ideal rather than a traditional rectangle case.

It's larger, has a hard shell, is waterproof and has padded sections inside. It has a short adjustable single strap so it's ideal to wear as a chest bag.

I'm also considering a fast charging power bank but although the bank would charge quickly, the Switch 2 doesn't support it so it would still take time to charge.

I have a 20'000 rated external bank but it couldn't charge Switch 1 when I was actually playing it.

Saw this on Neogaf:

[According to the poll from a year and a half ago, 44% here have PlayStation as their main platform followed by 36% PC and Xbox at 14%. Only 6% here have a Nintendo as their main platform.]

Mildy interesting trivia.

I didn't know FMV games were still a thing. I looked up Complex on Steam and was surprised by the amount of them. I used to really enjoy those terrible Sega CD FMV games, lol.

Hogwarts is great; I need to get back to it after Oblivion.

Yeah, sorry to hear it Vader. About 2 years ago I went through something like that and had like half a dozen friends and acquaintances pass away in the span of a year, all of whom were in their forties or early '50s. Hate to admit it, but I think we are starting to hit that age where it's not so uncommon to lose a friend.... Bleh.

I have to do a doubletake every time I see The Complex show up in a game search. The main actress who appears on the cover/intro art plays Katie on Letterkenny, an extremely funny show that I dearly love. So every time I scroll across it, I can't help but think I'm looking at a video game based on that show. And then I get disappointed remembering that it's not.

So sorry to hear that, Vader. Losing family is tough, but sometimes losing friends is harder. You can't pick your family, but you can pick your friends. Losing people you choose to have in your life just hits that much harder.
