I completed Mudrunner and immediately bought Snowrunner.

Started playing Voodoo Detective. It's awesome so far, it's production value is close to the new Leisure Suit Larry games.

Voice acting on point, lovely music, intricate animations, intriguing storyline and simplified logical controls. So glad i picked this up.

This weekend, I've been zoning out to Air Zonk (TG-16), Pac-man (Arcade), Super R-Type (SNES), Super C (NES) and F-Zero (SNES). Air Zonk is such a great shooter. I really need to delve into the TG-16 library more.

This weekend I finished up playing the Hivebusters dlc for Gears 5. Pretty fun stuff. Also played through a couple of indie games. Botany Manor which was a neat puzzle game and Open Roads which was kind of lame to be honest. Played them on Game Pass though so no harm, no foul I guess.

I played my first game of wordle ever today. I got it in 4 attempts.  I now intend to never play it again to keep my 100% success rate.

Still playing Hearthstone. I think at the end of this month though I will probably call it quits again. It has been fun, and though it took a couple weeks of learning all the new cards and commonly used decks, I'm back in the high level of gameplay. And unfortunately, I'm also remembering why I don't like playing at this level. Everyone uses the same goddamn card combinations, and after a while just gets kind of boring. Level up before the end of the month, and probably move on again.

Hi gents, I've been AWOL, took a week off (kind of) from work. Had a great week at the beach, running in the morning and making a 1700+ lego set with my daughter.  No no news updates.  Then now at work it's super busy, I don't think I sat at my desk for 7 minutes today over a 9.5 hour shift.

Got to play Slay the Spire only on my week off, we were so busy with outdoor activities.

Need to finish Princess Peach Showtime as well.

I associate my phone exclusively with providing me with problems. I cannot imagine playing a game on it.  Good strategy on quitting now! Winning.

I'm much the same.  I  never game much on my phone and I've got a pavlovian aversion from my ringtone.  My previous phone created unique ringtones based on the caller's number.  That helped, but sadly, there's no app for it on my current phone.

Back to games, I'm enjoying Netflix' mobile catalogue.  There's some actual, real games on there.  I just completed World of Goo yesterday and am already looking on what to download next.

You'd change your mind if you had a folding phone with a 2k OLED screen twice the size of Switch s screen.

Unfortunately I still don't use it as I'd rather save the battery in case I need to make an emergency call, especially if the car breaks down.

Also most phone games have terrible pay gating.

I think I made a mistake, Snowrunner arrived today and when I opened it there was a flyer promoting the season pass.

And then I realised that unlike the digital version, it doesn't come with the dlc, like Mudrunner did.

That game had a few maps and vehicles added included in the digital price. Alot of the time switch digital versions have dlc tagged on as standard and they don't really scream about it, you discover it as a nice bonus.

Now I've got to see how much the dlc is.

At least I got the game physically for the same as the digital versions sale price.

I'd never feel comfortable paying that kind of money for a phone.

As for the pay gating, check out the Netflix games.  They're actual, good games without any of that MTX nonsense.

I tried, but again, battery.

I'm finding I'd rather pay to own it on Switch then play for "free" using my Netflix account. Not having a controller sucks too. All sorts of weird touch screen controls for games that feel wrong.

Oh holy hell.

Snowrunner has 46 separate dlc bits on the eshop. Otherwise it's a season pass.

They have content planned through till the end of 2025!

They sell the game digitally in different sizes, a year 1 edition, year 2 edition, year 3 edition. Each bundled version costs more and more as presumably year 3 ver includes all the dlc from year 1 and 2?

They are selling cars separately. Wtf, this is confusing me. Now I have to work out what I need and what dlc pack includes what.

Can I just buy a season pass and get everything and keep ownership of it when the year is over?

Going from Android to Apple that is the thing I miss the most. I had fantastic custom ringtones for my top 20 callers, all of them humourous.

Been playing Snowrunner.

It's great so far. Really feels like a proper sequel to Mudrunner.

The interface and controls are refined and well worked. Graphics are better.

There are times the dynamic resolution kicks in, but Mclassic works like magic crisp everything up and boost the colours.

So far I'm very early in and the game is still in the tutorial phase. In Mudrunner they just drop you into an open world and it's up to you to work out what to do and the order you want to do it in.

I've found there are 4 years of updates, 46 separate DLCs available. And about 15 seasons, each one having new levels and vehicles. You can buy bundles of each year separately or a bundle of all 4 years at once. The total price of dlc is more than the base game.

Otherwise I've noticed they've changed the base way the mud works in the game. In Mudrunner I worked out that you could basically crawl through most muddy areas in a half step gear. If you were patient enough you would never get stuck. You'd only get stuck if you spun your tires too fast. A bigger risk were rocks, logs, trees, bogs, uneven surfaces and inclines.

In Snowrunner during the first open area my all wheel drive truck even in low gear gets really bogged down in muddy areas. Literally stuck and impossible to move without using the winch. Could make things interesting.

Only real criticism of the game is that the text size was obviously designed for PC gamers sitting right in front of their monitors.

Even on a giant TV, with perfect vision, I have to lean forward and squint to read this shit. It's something so basic that so many games get wrong, it actually stops me playing some games like Gamedec for instance.

They should let you choose the text size.
