Damn SH is already next week. I still need to beat Silksong and MGS3. Also started my RE series playthrough. Oh and Ghosts comes out the week after, ahhhh stop with the releases.
Silksong is totally kicking my ass, it crossed the line into just being mean and dumb but I just got past the part I was stuck on so I'm enjoying it again. Its a masterpiece to be sure but that difficulty is a bit much and ruins any flow I start to have. I think its better designed than the first but maybe not as enjoyable to play. Still right up there with E33 as my GOTY.
It's a lush green planet. Started to really enjoy the game. It's a simple pleasure, but sneaking into an Imperial base, stealing from them, then blasting stormtroopers on the way out, then jumping onto your speeder bike to escape.
It's just fun. As is swaggering into a seedy bar on a far off planet.
I probably wouldn't enjoy it without motion aiming, but since its there the base shooting is fun.
Not sure I like the spaceship combat. At first it was this light traversal and fun.
Now I seem to always be wanted and have to fight tooth and nail to escape. I finally got past one section only to hyperspace my way to escape. Only to end up in another area where I'm wanted and have long dogfights.
The ship you use isnt as manoeuvrable as the fighters which attack you. The lock on system is sketchy. There's no motion aiming as far as I can see even with motion steering turned on. The controls can be a bit odd.
And the lock on sometimes drags you into space debris. You can just turn on easy mode to get through it though.
The 14% that comes PSN subscriptions caught me off guard, but I don't know why it would. That's definitely a strong reminder of why we're never getting free online play again from any console.
Network "services" has got to be almost entirely profit, too.
The Wanted system in Star Wars Outlaws is beginning to piss me off.
I sneak into an Imperial excavation site, take down 4 or so enemies, then a camera spots me that isnt even projecting a cone of vision so you don't even know its there.
Then im swarmed with Storm Troopers which I despatch. You would think that there are a set number of enemies to defeat. But no, now a shuttle lands and even more show up.
I'm killing them, bodies are piling up and Im thinking that this has to end at some point right? After all I came to this area to investigate and retrieve something from a chest.
Instead I realise this is an unwinnable Call of Duty style situation where the enemies will NEVER stop coming.
Suddenly I've achieved the Empires Most wanted level. So they send Death Troopers to find me.
They never really explained this mechanic. Now I jump on my bike to escape and Im chased. I race towards this red marker to eliminate this death marker by taking out a death trooper base.
I expected 1 or 2 enemies there. Instead its a whole camp of Death Troopers. Since Im still being chased I run towards the target thinking I will take him out quick and escape.
Nah, you can unload a fully loaded clip point blank into a Death Trooper and it wont kill him. Then you realise you're surrounded by these assholes.
At this point I just want this Wanted system to end. Enemies shouldn't be omniscient, different camps and villages shouldn't have some mass surveillance system that makes everyone attack you on sight in different places - including fucking SPACE of all places.
You're living in a space covering more than a few different planets, including the vastness of space. Yet you're recognised like walking between different rooms in your house by your own family.
Isn't this sci fi? Shouldn't your main character do something as simple as donning a mask before attacking random people?

To think that I bought my Xbox Series X in March of 2023 I paid $599.99 for it. And that was Canadian. Insane.
They are really making the Switch 2 seem like a sweet deal.

Rant over I just reloaded an earlier save.
It's nuts that the Xbox Series S with 512GB storage that I bought in 2021 for $300 is now $400, four years later. I'm tired of upside down world.
