Looking forward to picking up that Beat ‘Em Up Bundle as well. I can understand why The Punisher, Aliens vs Predator, and X-Men aren’t in it though due to licensing issues.

Sucks. Sad

What also sucks is how arcade Golden Axe 2 is always hard to find. Even in the Genesis collections it is old lame-o Genesis Golden Axe 2 and not the awesome arcade version. I really need to get my old arcades disc working again. I had all these games but then the display became f-ed up on the new tablet.

I thought the PS1 Classic thing was cool for about 2 and 1/2 minutes. That is an era of gaming the time has not been kind to. Outside of some of Square's RPGs in Symphony of the Night, I can't think of too many games I would want to play on it. maybe some Capcom fighting games, but most of them have since been re-released in collections and such, and probably play a lot better than they did in their PlayStation versions.

Oh, and great job on the news GG.

And look at that PUBG is in all likelihood coming to the PS4. That should be fun. I was playing a lot of that on the mobile version this spring. Would not mind playing it on Console. God knows it will be easier for me to get a hold of them for Fortnight.

surprise

!!!!

Capcom beat em up collection is awesome! Made better by having it digitally on Switch. Now I can play these childhood favourites in bed and on the toilet. Now I always have 2 controllers to hand to play these games anywhere with friends.

The ports are superb, super smooth, crisp picture quality. Arcade perfect. Only problem is the button layout, it doesn't let you customise, but you can flip between control options. The switch joycon buttons are a touch small and cramped together to be able to press two buttons at once for special attacks reliably.

Suprisingly the 4 buttons in lieu of a d-pad actually work all right in this........... and I assume most 2D games aside from ones like Streetfighter which require those rotations - I guess?

This collection has tempted me to buy a few Neo Geo games and maybe even consider the Genesis collection - although I probably wont bite on that.

Purely on the graphics of the 3D games I least. I cannot go there. It's ugly in a way that 8bit, no worse that that.

So pixellated.

With all these mini-consoles it would be cool if Nintendo released all the SNES games from the SNES mini in a bundle for Switch.

Can you imagine carrying around all those Genesis games, all the SNES mini games and the Capcom beat em collection ready to play anywhere with two controllers all good to go? Not to mention the Neo Geo stuff? I wish there were demos for these Neo Geo games. I might get Metal slug when it's on sale again.

The only negative I’ve heard about the Beat ‘Em Up Bundle is that there is horrible lag in the Switch version when playing online. Hopefully that gets fixed.

They’ve been pumping out those Neo Geo games left and right. Now there’s a whole whack of them that I want to get.

Switch firmware update 6.0.0 - video tour

Ok.

So you can log onto your Switch with someone elses account and download the games they bought, for free. And play them. Pretty cool.

Yeah, but then you're stuck with their rankings and everythign as well.  It'll be pretty hard to take advantage of if you're trying to share libraries with friends.  It'll be plenty cumbersome just trying to share multiple switches in one household by the sound of it.

[youtube.com]Play games from your Nintendo Account on two Switch units at the same time by turning off wifi on your primary Switch

You'd think that a company so meticulous in its design phylosophy, so protective of its IP, so clever, would have caught this during testing.  It's like Nintendo Online is a whole seperate company run by monkeys.

It's so you can keep playing games even when not connected to the internet. Most people would argue it's a good thing.

I'd much rather buy that Polymega console that plays PS1 and Saturn games out of the box on top of a shitload of other consoles, than pay for a PS1 classic with 20 games. When it comes to retro consoles, the 3rd party companies shit all over the 1st party. The Polymega even has a goddamn online storefront for classics which Sony and Nintendo barely have on their current consoles.

I’ve downloaded the 7 day free trial.  The free NES games are kind of cool, but I would love to see some SNES games.   I was surprised to see Double Dragon.

It's crazy to me that they only have NES games. I totally believed the Switch would have a good selection of games from pretty much every console they made. Especially by now.

Cause they want to sell them to you for $9 a pop.

Seriously, I have a shitload of VC games on the Wii and it would be awesome to just transfer them across to play on Switch. But no.

I started playing Splatoon2 recently again (hey, if I'm payin', I might as well be playin').  WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO STARFISH MAINSTAGE?  Like a quarter of that stage has been totaly changed.  cool

I've also found a new weapon I really like: the wonderfully named bloblobber.  It's a bucket type weapon, but instead of splashes of ink, it lobs blobs that bounce ahead a bit before disappearing!  It's a joyous thing, allowing the wielder to bounce the bubbles off walls and effectively shoot around corners.  I never thought I'd get used to a weapon that requires you to pull the trigger for every shot, but this one is such a gamechanger and a joy to use.  The secondary weapon is my old time favorite, the splatwall, giving the weapon a pretty good defensive option.  The special is the cloud of rain, which, while not very usefull, is annoying for the other team and it loads pretty fast, meaning I can deploy it a couple of times per match.  And best of all, the thing looks like an urinal bowl.  LOL

Bildergebnis für bloblobber

Also, when googling for an image, apparently the Splatoon community got in a fit over it when it launched, claiming it's overpowered.  I can see where they're coming from, but I don't think it's more powerfull than some other weapons or classes in the game.  I'm looking at you, rollers.  angry

edit: it apears to look more like a bubble bath, which still is pretty cool if you ask me.  Not urinal cool, but cool nontheless.

[nintendolife.com]We Like To Grumble, But Switch Online Is Actually   A Very Generous Offer

This editorial claims that Switch Online isn't a bad deal and compares it to the more expensive PS and Xbone offers.  Honestly, with the competition, it's as if you're paying a yearly subscription to free games, and all the rest is just added benefit.  The same can't be said for Nintendo's offer.

So I was reading that Nintendolife artical on the value of Nintendo Online. They said you could set up a family membership between anyone worldwide. Which effectively means you could pay $5 each a year for the service.

Something to think about. I need to watch that video, it might be a good deal for a bunch of us if it's feasible.

That weapon is a game changer. Honestly I have played Salmon run so much there has been tons and tons of added stuff, including stages. Playing Splatoon 2 today is completely different than launch day. The amount of content they added is awesome.

I think the price difference is huge for me. Paying £50 a year for online would be far more than I would be comfortable with. The free games is great, but I don't play enough to even take advantage of it. So for me, basic but cheap is the best option.
