I have been playing Metaphor but hit a wall with playing, its really good, I enjoy it but it goes on for so long. Im like 60-70 hours in and still have so much more to do. The last dungeon i did went on for like 4 hours, repetition repitition... Once you know how to beat an enemy you know how to beat them so the fights mostly play out the same. Bosses are tough but they come once every so many hours. Outside of dungeons its just a glorified visual novel. This is my first Atlus RPG and might be my last, I don't see myself playing Persona if its this structure.
yeah, that is the Persona formula. It was more digestible with Persona 3 and 4 when the games capped out at about 70 hours or so. But then Persona 5 went to 100 hours and that seems to be the sweet spot now. SMTV also broke 100 hours. Atlas just seems to think that's what people want. Hell, maybe they do. Their games certainly seem to be selling better than ever.
And fuck these people stabbing children. Like that demon who killed those girls in the UK last year.
I assume that anti-depressants and lonliness have more to do with this than what was blamed in this last case, Fortnite.
Did mass murders even happen before the 1960's? I'm not talking serial killers like Jack the ripper, I mean these evil c-words who take out groups of people at a time. I guess I could internet the answer, but I'm not going to depress myself at this time of night.
Don't get a stomach virus. Spent all Super Bowl weekend pooping and vomitting, but im eating again, so I think i'm back. State of Play today was ok, Shinobi is cool, Onimusha looks fun, fake Returnal 2 should be great, cool looking Pixeljunk game, fake GTA is intriguing, fake Death Stranding (hell is us) has potential, and some chinese action games which I am always willing to give a try.

I never played Persona.
Didn't realise it was visual novel like. I thought I would enjoy visual novels but I generally lose patience with them.
It has to have some element of activity and animation to stuff and not drag on too long.

I can't speak to Metaphor, but generally in the Persona and in more recent SMT games there is voice acting for all of the main character dialogue. Not so much for secondary characters unless you're in the middle of some plot points that's trying to move the story forward. Otherwise it's just dialog boxes.
On the subject of the Atlas RPGs, I was reminded that the SMT & Fire Emblem crossover, Tokyo Mirage Sessions actually did a good job of rejecting the modern-day bloat. I did all the main side stories and most of the minor side missions and I still completed the game in about 55 hours. It's a much more streamlined experience and if you don't mind that all the voice over is in Japanese, it might actually be the best game they've put out for a while.

Answer without google: Yes.
Used to be you'd lose a game of Craps, and the whole table would be dead; but experts say Craps usually wasn't the primary cause.

I'm bummed about Crysis 4 being put in hold. And retrospectively, gamers are to blame.
I remember being a Crysis outsider and hearing gamers perpetuating this notion that each Crysis game was worse than the last one.
That was wrong, deeply wrong. The games get better with each sequel and 3 had the perfect balance of stealth vs balls to the wall action. Playing the games with gyro aiming is awesome too.
I'm so bummed out that Crysis 4 didn't happen back then and now has been out on hold.
Also if you believed the first game was the best because of open plan levels, ur wrong. It meant you choose a different angle to approach the metal shack. Then when aliens appear the game takes a notable turn for the worse.
Done! Thanks for the advice
I'll provide my own advice, Don't get sciatica.
That's weird, Capcom has always been big launch supporters. :

And thanks for the 3500 +'s community. I see Rob has more than double that -- beleive I am responsble for a good 7,000 of them
Elleyoda, do you have stats on who has gifted the most "+"'s?

Jeff Minter is back! Edit: I just noticed it's coming to PSVR2 as well. Nice!

Me too. I need a faster brain and better reflexes, though.

No one will ever top my number of "-"s in a single post at least.
Probably for a post disparaging StarTropics III no doubt.
Nah, I always get lots of pluses for those comments.

I received -128 votes on my ancient "Black Friday Score!" General Discussion thread. A real badge of honor, I must say.
Damn. That is impressive.

Stole that idea from the Atari Lynx now? Nintendo has no shame?

Yeah, didn’t really get the hate for Crysis 2 and 3 either. Thought they were both pretty enjoyable games.
