I spent most of the day playing Beyond Good and Evil. I played through this game around 2010, but I remember surprisingly little of it. Almost feels like a new game.
The pacing is so inconsistent and you're constantly being interrupted by long cutscenes.
The AI isn't that fun as they tend to just dog pile on your location. Instead of moving around the level taking out groups, I just have no choice but to stand at a doorway and blast them as they mindlessly pop up.
Then the rest of the level is this weird empty location, as I killed them all already.
Wolfenstein 2 was a bummer coming off the first game. The pacing was wrong, like you said, way too much talking, and I HATED the hubworld where there is way too much walking around. It was a solid 4/10 compared to the first game which was near perfect.
Question: what Ubisoft games/franchises would you like to continue if the company is sold off and split up?
I enjoyed the first 2 Tom Clancy Splinter Cell games. Farcry was interesting when it first came out, but like all thier other franchises they ran it into the ground. I dunno what else -- I thin kthye were responsible for UNO on the Switch. The Prince of Persia reboot was good, but honestly I never finished it. But as I've said before I won't miss them.
Where was the Slayer warped to at the end of the first game? And how did he suddenly appear on a spaceship above earth? Is it all explained in game?
You'd be better off looking at a wiki of the lore. Speaking of sophomore slump, I cannot think of a game I was more disspointed in coming off of the Doom 2016 reboot. Some love Doom Eternal, most dislike it. I hope you are in the first category, but my idea of Doom does not involve "stringing together combos" and "parrying". They overhtought that one way too much.
Finished Baldur's Gate 3 this weekend. First time in years I've made it through a game, let alone one with 100 hour completion time. It's a flawed game, but it does so many things right with such an absurd volume of content that it's hard to complain much, even with the convoluted ending. It really took the available disk space in modern games to less be wildly wasteful, but rather, have endless recorded dialogue, characters, and quests (close to 2 million words of dialogue and 174 hours of dialogue scenes, close to 2000 characters).
I'm expecting to go back through for another run, but first I've started on Dragon Age: Veilguard. I haven't played the previous games. For a long time Dragon Age and Dragon's Dogma were the same thing in my head. It's an adjustment from BG3. It definitely has a bit of EA feel that I was happy did not exist in BG3 and was probably some of its charm. But it's got style and personality. Combat feels really clunky at times, but occasionally is very satisfying. Still early, so I'll have to see where it goes.
I saw you playing Dragon Age and I was like... not sure you'll want to do that coming off of BG3. Not saying it's a bad game, but a pallette clenser I've found is good before going from a lengedary game to another of the same genre. Congrats on finishing BG3, I am waiting for a sale since my PC backlog is deep enough right now.
So some are suggesting that Nintendo may trot out a raffle type system or in some way reward Nintendo Switch Online users by prioritising them ahead of other for online sales, just as they trialled with their (baffling) Alarmo alarm clock.
...Also, I've never played Civ before. I don;t think. I have a boxed copy of Civ 2 for PC, not sure if I ever played it... anyway I went into Civ 6 and... I just went "oh god I've seen too much, I need to ask Ravenprose what to do", and hastily left.
Settle your first city near fresh water ... There's lots of Civ 6 tutorials on Youtube.
Thanks Hamster. Also, sorry for you that Civ 7 is launching rough. I've heard from one early reviewer (who has logged over 100 hours) that if you happen to be able to play it and it's stable by whatever combination of hardware being use that it is good game. Best to let the dust settle, let them update it and get it in a couple a months I'd say.
Thanks again sincerely, I get the feeling the Steamdeck is not the optimal place to play, probably better on the big screen with a mouse.

What do you thin kthey are up to?
I think they've just been manufacturing them by the boatload for months nowand will positively swamp retail with them on release.

I own the first game. I saw some footage online. It looks more fun to me on a base level, chunky and colourful, action packed.
I was enjoying Wolf 2 last night as I finally unlocked the scope on one of the machine guns which has changed my play style, so I can pick them off at a distance. Nodded weapons sound good but since you can't try them first you end up with a mod that you don't like.
And end up not unlocking a more useful one. Happened with Doom as well.

I don't think I'm at a combo or parrying phase yet. So far I really like it, but I think I'm still on the first area. Those spiders piss me off.

I was hoping for the best with Civ 7 launch but I knew it would be unfinished and filled with paid DLC. I have a general rule of waiting 6-12 months after most modern releases to ensure the most complete copy possible. My PC barely meets the minimum CPU spec, so I wasn't set on getting it this year. How this game is coming to Switch 1 baffles me. I'm still quite happy with my Civ 6 complete edition running at 4K/60.
Capcom apparently doesn't know what Switch 2 is yet? They were asked about a Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds.
Mr. Tsujimoto said that it’s a new announcement and it is something “we would need to take our time in the near future to know exactly the nature of the hardware and how we’ll use it best.”
“Of course, regarding Monster Hunter Wilds platforms we don’t have anything extra to announce beyond what’s already out there,” the Japanese developer tells Gamereactor envoy Javier Escribano in the video. “But we’re also a bit in the same position as everyone else with Switch 2: it’s such a new announcement, and we would need to take our time in the near future to know exactly the nature of the hardware and how we’ll use it best, and that’s something that’s going to be in the future for us.”
That's a big blow to me personally. I was really banking on Wilds coming to Switch2 near to launch. Don't make me splurge on an extra console or new PC Capcom!
Man... little girl in France got stabbed to death by a 23 year old guy. News is saying it happened after the guy got frustrated after losing at Fortnite. They're having an expert talk about it now, saying that it could have been the last drop that triggered it, but that gaming is never the sole reason.

That answer sounds kind of weird to me. It could be they just have to wait until Nintendo does their April 2nd Switch 2 Direct before they can reveal any Switch 2 games they have.

I forgot about Splinter Cell, I bought and completed every one apart from Double Agent, which i did own but only played a bit of.

Some lunatic repeatedly stabbed a little girl in central London weeks ago. She lived, but Jesus.

I think his team has been focused on the next gen versions and haven't tested Switch 2 enough.
Which means a port if far off.
I'm starting to wonder if all these Switch 2 ports are just a Mirage.
All these "leaks" mostly from twitter or youtubers. No announced games whatsoever and only 8% of developers at GDC were working on games.
So Doom Eternal, I only played it in flight mode, it's one of those games that annoyingly asks you to turn off flight mode to connect to their servers.
You can press back to ignore it. But curiously, if you didn't have your Switch in flight mode when you docked it, they REQUIRE you to create a Bethesda account to even make it past the page.
When docked there is no way to turn flight mode on. It's highly annoying and briefly gives a flash forward panic to the future when the servers no longer exist. I'll try and re install the game then it will require a persistent online connection to play.
Even with flight mode on it will frequently remind me that flight mode is on in an obtrusive way.
I wish EA, Ubisoft, anyone really would just allow us to play games with none of this bullshit.
Edit: every time I die when docked in flight mode it tells me to turn off flight mode and begins searching for networks. Oh FFS
So now I've had a decent session on the big tv I can say that Doom Eternal is an exceptional switch port.
I initially overlooked it because it came out late and was digital only. But hats off to Panic Button.
Docked or handheld the resolution is notably higher than Doom 2016. Because the resolution is higher, when I turn on Mclassic it looks closer to the higher end versions.
I like the gameplay, though I hope the platforming doesn't become more elaborate than it already is.
I like the environments but I'm still confused. I'm on Earth, but also in hell and then parts of Argenta are here too?
The lore is decent but they obviously ripped Tolkien.
I don't like the new/old visual design of plasma cannon.
Don't get a stomach virus. Spent all Super Bowl weekend pooping and vomitting, but im eating again, so I think i'm back. State of Play today was ok, Shinobi is cool, Onimusha looks fun, fake Returnal 2 should be great, cool looking Pixeljunk game, fake GTA is intriguing, fake Death Stranding (hell is us) has potential, and some chinese action games which I am always willing to give a try.
I have been playing Metaphor but hit a wall with playing, its really good, I enjoy it but it goes on for so long. Im like 60-70 hours in and still have so much more to do. The last dungeon i did went on for like 4 hours, repetition repitition... Once you know how to beat an enemy you know how to beat them so the fights mostly play out the same. Bosses are tough but they come once every so many hours. Outside of dungeons its just a glorified visual novel. This is my first Atlus RPG and might be my last, I don't see myself playing Persona if its this structure. I took a break and decided to play the FF16 dlc i never played, so much better, actual action, im home .

They are so different that it might work out for you. Still BG3 is just at a different level than DA. Still DA is an enjoyable ride.
GG playing Doom Eternal, that game is hardcore but one of the greats.

Wow this is a story, how Saber Interactive made money and reputation porting Halo for "free".
