I'm wrapping up my playthrough of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I'm enjoying it but its not quite as good as the 2013 one.
I need to get back to that one. I'm like half way through, I think.
For years I had images turned off on my browser for the last third of the month!
Yikes, just realized I typed in the wrong name. I meant Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Finished the main game in Snowrunner 240 hrs.
I will be buying the dlc when on sale.
Endless Ocean 3 hasn't sold so I'll casually try it again.
Played another 20 mins of Endless Ocean Luminous.
It's a game about nothing, with nothing to do. Might as well call it Empty Ocean Online.
I turned if off in disgust. Good riddance to this POS.
Started Crowns and Pawns
Awesome so far. Lovely mix of 3d character models and 2D backgrounds. Very much in the Broken Sword style.
Along with Zombie Detective I feel like adventure games are just as good as they used to be now.
Internet is back.
All I've been playing is SimCity 3000. And trying to get my ancient PC to once again recognize my video card.
I usually only lasted half the month. Upgrading to 40 GB was amazing.
By Miu Watanabe.
That Master sword is going to become quite the collectors item though.
Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 77092 | LEGO® The Legend of Zelda™ | Buy online at the Official LEGO® Shop US
I disagree. I think this looks like a good build. It's a statuette rather than a toy, like the other Lego Nintendo releases.
I'm informed on this by just having completed this with my daughter:
They go for $500 new and was only 1,700 pieces. (Zelda is a massive 2,500 pieces) and it looks dull but on the other side there is plenty of interactive bits for kids to play with (and it was a fun challenge to make it).
I should mention that we were very kindly gifted this (new) from a workfriend whose daughter had outgrown interest in Frozen.
I would not buy Zelda LEGO as the subject matter is not my passion. But if they do a Yakuza one I'd consider it.
I guess I feel it lacks refinement when viewed as a statuette compared to other sets, and it lacks options for play when viewed as a playset. For that money they could have made the deku tree at least a storey higher and added in some more internal chambers.
News: Star Citizen, after 12 years, has raised $700 MILLION USD.
Do you think it will ever be released?
"I guess I feel it lacks refinement when viewed as a statuette compared to other sets"
Yes I agree with that. It's a bit short!
All the Disney LEGO's get a piece number reduction, I assume due to a hefty licensing cut from the House of Mouse.
Was checking out all the 360 games I bought recently.
Going back two gens was a rude awakening in some cases. Some games, mostly Zenimax ones, required huge installs that took ages.
Why is Wolfenstein 1 on 4 dvds FFS.
The updates were laughably small, 4mb or 8mbs.
The visuals of most games was rough on a 1080p set. I guess the 17 inch 720p I used to use masked a lot of the 360s games visual flaws. Not only are games blurry, but jaggy as well. It's almost more egregious than SD games as you can see the games would look alright with a resolution bump.
Need to hook up Mclassic.
Prey started like a 90s movie, damn looks like a ps2 game.
Evil Within graphics are bad. And it seems to have a hard mode and slightly less hard mode lol.
Vanquish seemed really cool, love the fast pace way you move around, reminded me of that Free to play switch game Panic Button ported.
The games were surprising at how much low HQ compressed video they use in cutscenes. My return to cinematic AAA games was annoying in some other aspects, watching 50 logos at the start of every game. Watching a 30 minute cutscene before you can actually play anything.
But I was left with a confused and slightly melancholic feeling about game preservation. I wish there was a DVD like model where you can still buy and watch a famous movie from the 40s for instance.
There are so many 3rd party games that are going to be lost in the mists of time, when all they need is a resolution bump and a more convenient way to play them.
After hours of disc swapping and installs and updates, it felt ridiculous to pick up my switch and to have a console wireless, in my hand, all my game carts in a tiny game case, over a hundred more, all on board the sd card.
This is what game preservation should be like.
Physical disks, cartridges and hardware will degrade and fail eventually.
Game preservation is what Gog does well, IMO. They sell modern and old games without DRM, that can be downloaded and installed by themselves without a store launcher, and come with all of the maps, manuals, hint guides that originally came with the game in PDF format. Gog isn't perfect, but they are way ahead of the rest of the industry in preservation. Sadly, they are mostly limited to PC gaming, but they are starting to add retro arcade/console games to their catalog as well.
Eh, I installed all these 3 disc games to 360.
Takes ages BTW, I guess the disc drive is slow.
Then I attempted to launch said games and it makes you put the game disc anyway. Ehhhh
I know it's because of piracy but it's a pain. Is there no alternative?
Need a portable PC I guess. I've tried so many times to hook up my old consoles and be faced with tv compatibility issues, wonky resolutions. Breaking out old ass memory cards and wired controllers.
I'm at the point where I'm fed up with it all. I wish old consoles would be rebooted as handheld with decent screens and battery life. And it would let me play (by some means) the games I already own for it.
Like a Dreamcast handheld, a 360 handheld etc. Nothing fancy or expensive buy competent and convenient.
