So got the x-ray installed, was looking to leave work early on a Friday, but got involved in some catch-up when my collegue comes to me and asks if I can work tomorrow to help out because a piece of equipment broke and put production behind a full day. (Don't ask any follow-up questions, I cannot answer them).

So I called the Motel with no vegan options (because other than the restaurant it's a nice place and convenient to the food/ liquor stores I frequent when I am in this city.

Did I mention it is a slow news day?

Any way checked in and made small talk with one of the owners, who was in the process of changing the menu... so I asked, any interest in some vegetarian items?  She listed off two generic items (vegetable soup and chopped vegetables). But she did ask for some suggestions, which I agreed to provide by e-mail, which I will. It is a large motel but ultimately owned by this couple and based on our conversation, they are innocently clueless as to what a vegetarian is ("Do you eat fish or are you a strict vegatarian?") so I figure I can help them out.

Did I mention it was a slow news day?

So in Australia, there is a LOT of trash TV that is brilliantly produced. I watch none of it, but you can see from the ads it is crack cocaine for certain demographics. Farmer Wants a Wife. Is this a thing elsewhere? Sort of bachellor but specific to a mode of occupation. In a world of woke cancel culture (which I think is on the decline) would this be acceptable anywhere? Consider the alternatives:

School Bus Driver Wants a Wife

Catholic Priest Wants a Wife

Drunk Trans Wants a Wife

IT Worker Wants a Wife

I believe that's already a show.

I've always been grateful that we never subscribed to cable. Although we have Netflix and it's stiffling effect on any form of decent conversation or other leisurely activities is becoming as big as that of TV when I was growing up. Farmer wants wife has been on tv here as well.

On the subject of quality programming, I'm binge-watching a British show from a couple years ago called Naked Attraction. It's a dating show where six contestants are put into boxes completely naked, over the course of a couple rounds the screen is lifted higher and higher so they can first see everything from the waist down, then the neck down, then their face, and finally in one round they get to speak very briefly just so the player can hear their voices. And each round they pretty much have to judge this naked person's flaws and decide which one they want to get rid of. It is both cruel and entertaining as hell.

Admittedly, it's also a little disconcerting when a woman is choosing and the very first thing you see on the show is six naked dudes from the waist down and you're basically just looking at six dongs. Though if you're into that, this is probably quite a treat.

It's streaming on Max if anyone is interested. It's a special kind of trash TV, but I also give it. It's a fun twist from regular dating shows where people are trying to sound far more intelligent than they really are. This eliminates that and lets people say exactly what they want to like, "You've got a fantastic ass, but that tattoo of Mickey mouse fucking Queen Elizabeth suggests you're a wilder person than I'm comfortable dating."

Colorado snow storm yesterday and today is a lot of fun. Woke up yesterday with 4 inches of snow--not bad; just annoying.  This morning I woke up to about 12 inches of additional snow. Hrm still made it to work! 👍

I guess I shouldn't complain that it's going to be 86° today and I think that's too hot?

There was a farmer wife program here a few years back. It's hard for them to date normally.

And when those run their course you can put a celebrity spin on it to rejuvenate it. Such as:

Vince McMahon Wants a Wife

Bill Cosby Wants a Wife

There's a demo I enjoyed a lot. It looks like Pikmin, but it's more like a 3D platformer.

So if haven't heard, there's this YouTuber with Nvidia contacts who seems reliable. He's been leaking Nintendo switch 2 tech details recently where he normally does PC video cards. He did a PS5 Pro video recently too.

So on Switch 2 on the fabrication node its 8nm Samsung. Apparently it was the perfect choice for them. The smaller node was an option but there's a lot of competition from other companies to produce tech on that node. So the prices can surge depending on demand. Apparently the production method for these is also not as reliable, so you have a lot of discarded wafers that have to be junked. He also says that if they went with the smaller node, it's a misconception that it would be more powerful than 8nm. He said that if it was 5nm it would have less shader cores and Nintendo would simply run the clocks higher.

He also said the design goal was for it to run games on a 4ktv without it looking bad.

And that the goal was that it could do 4k at 30fps of major third party games (using DLSS)

To back this up He posted links to an equivalent gpu running games at 4k using DLSS.

He said the power would be better than steam deck, graphically, image quality, texture resolution etc. But with lower framerates as the cpu was worse than steam deck.

Docked he said it would come near to the Xbox Series S.

In his opinion, he said that if the system was to be future proofed it needed 12gb RAM. He said that's what developers needed to look at it as viable for future support.

I booted up Heroes of Might and Magic 3 for the first time today. I haven't played a game quite like it. It's going to take me a while to figure out the interface. There's an in-game tutorial that requires you to print out a Tutorial document to read while going through it (I have it on my phone). Now this is old school! I am enjoying it so far. It's fun to play something different.

HoMM 3 is one of the all time greats. I used to break it out every couple years, but sadly I lost my copy. I may have to finally break down and get it on GoG.

I bought Tinykin as I loved the demo and saw some decent reviews.

I normally wait for a deeper sale, but I missed out on two other games as the sale offer expired as I was procrastinating. Looking forward to this game.

The Switch demo had some soft image quality, but Mclassic should make it look better.
