I don't want to discuss it too much because I can already tell half the fun of this game will be the totally unexpected things you come across in the levels. You'll be grinning ear-to-ear, asking yourself "Did they really just do that?!" Yup they did!

It really does evoke a sense of wonder!!

I watched a guy from the UK streaming it this morning, something I never do. But seeing a quick preview pulled me in and yeah it's pretty incredible. They threw a whole lot of ideas out there. I'm sure there's going to be a few things that just don't quite work, but overall I got to admit baby have created something that definitely captures the 8th and 16-bit era Mario games.

I'm glad to hear it. 2D Mario games have been stale for far too long.

Yeah, Wonder is pretty fun so far. I need to play more to form a better opinion.

I bought a copy of Super Mario Wonder at Walmart this morning. I'll be playing it this afternoon! ๐Ÿ‘

Hmm, could a multiplayer afternoon be in our future?

The Super Mario Wonder Dev team must have found Miyamoto's stash of shrooms when they made this. LOL

I think the real problem may have been me and Moto stopped taking the shrooms himself over the years.

I read a couple articles where they mentioned miyamoto was shooting down a lot of ideas that ultimately did make their way into wonder, like the elephant. He apparently was on record saying, "no Mario would never be an elephant."

I love the man, and I love the games he's made, but I do have to wonder if maybe he should have stepped aside a little bit earlier, and that maybe he had been holding the series back for a while.

From whay little I've played the art style seems to throw in a spreckling of distinct anime flourishes to character design.

It does and it is nice, but the more I play the more I want a Super Mario World sprite art style. I mean Wonder looks great but I just want to venture in that old style one more time.

Yes! And Yoshi's Island art style too.

Yeah, there's a point where the new generation of devs must to be given the freedom to succeed or fail with their own ideas.

You get the feeling that that is exactly what happened with this series. 2d Mario was an afterthought.and Shiggy was unwilling to push any boundaries.

One thing I'm really happy about regarding Sonic superstars is Sonic Team's decision to NOT have any voice acting in the game. It has an opening cinematic similar to Sonic CD's and Sonic 3-like short in-game animations between levels. Again with NO annoying voice acting! ๐Ÿ‘

Regarding Super Mario Wonder, I'm really glad we can turn off the voice acting for the annoying talking flowers! Excellent option, Nintendo!

I'd prefer an option to turn off all the voice acting in the game, lol.

Yeah itโ€™s good that there is at least the option to turn off the flower voices. Having said that I havenโ€™t felt compelled to turn them off yet myself.

Alright, Super Mario Wonder has won me over. The game is great with so many inventive levels. I get so much joy of discovering new game play, almost in every new level. The transformations remind me of Yoshi's Island. I can't believe I've become Bionic Commando in a Mario game.

I like the flower commentary...  "Are they... singing?"

"Yup! They're singing!"

Never in a million years was I expecting that!  ๐Ÿ˜†
