And DLSS has been out for 2 years and been refined, it's performance boosting capabilities are a fact at this point. It can take a shitty sub 30 frame rate and boost it to 100fps, and boost the resolution to 4k, all whilst using Ray tracing thats more advanced than what AMD can do.
From what I've read, Nvidias technology is fundamentally more advanced, so it can do more with less. But there's also some tech articles on switch 2 cpu and gpu rumors I've read. It's hard for me to understand but the tech websites who wrote them seem excited.
I still need to get around to buying one. The wifi connection with the Gamepad has broken. I hope it's on the Gamepad's side as it would save me having to somehow transfer all of my saves to a new WiiU.
Still all rumours and speculation. The Switch 2 might have powerfull components, but they'll be heavily pared back to increase battery life, as they were on Switch. I wouldn't get too excited.
Hack it and turn it into a super Wii. I can't sell mine until Nintendo rereleases Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD on Switch or Switch 2.
There was a bit on the radio yesterday about how people are making quick money by having AI write books and selling them on Amazon on a print-by-order basis.
And I thought endless streams of cat gifs were bad.
It's around 30GB download on Switch, which is quite small these days. There's also a physical copy available.
There are reported higher ups from within the Unity company selling stock days before the announcement, so that's being used as 'proof' that they knew it was a shit move.
They may have a gpu in the Dock this time.
Here's a decent video

Also the guy who leaked the information is saying the Matrix demo looked the exact same as the PS5 and Xbox series version only with better Ray tracing.
This stuff doesn't seem to be rumours, these are developers who were shown the hardware at gamescon talking to journalists.
Like Andy Robinson on VGC or Eurogamer. And some leaders with solid track records.
It's going to be weaker than the Xbox Series S, but with more modern technology for upscaling and better framerates, better raytracing and instant loading.
Fuck, my reply was swallowed by the site...
in short: I watched as much of your video as I could bare; not much of it. It's all hearsay. I doubt they named any of the developers who leaked this information.
it's Nvidea, of course it'll have some form of DLSS. Of course they'll manage to get (most of) Unreal 5.2 running on it. But showing examples of PC games tripling framerates doesn't mean we can expect the same from the new Nintendo console.
Same for instant loading. With 7 years of advances in technology, I can believe ROM access and decompiling speeds have improved enough to immediately load a 7 year old game originally developed for WiiU. But will that still ring true for complex contemporary games?
I'll believe it when I -or DF- see it.
I saw something about this too. In particular one was an AI written book on mycology/mushrooms. After someone fact checkes the book they found out it was dangerously inaccurate.
With a thunderbolt port it's perfectly possible. I've seen people hook up monster GPU's to Surface Pro tablets with an external GPU dock. But I don't see Nintendo doing this. Much cheaper and easier to keep everything together in the handheld and just throttle it down when in handheld mode.
Anyhow, nintendo should just add a second screen and call it the Nintendo Bitch. Seems much more likely to me that they'll add in some new gimmicks than that they'll double down on the graphical performance.
Speaking of gimmicks, I don't even notice Sony's DualSense rumble anymore. It became just like normal rumble to me pretty quickly and devs don't seem to be making much use of it either.
I wasn't aware this was a thing. I watched a video with an external GPU attached to a laptop. Pretty interesting. The ultimate Super FX chip. Yeah, Nintendo isn't likly to do this. It would be like having to support two different consoles in one.
A Nintendo Direct tomorrow morning and a Sony State of Play later on in the afternoon.
Perhaps the only form of creative AI output which comes close to what humans are doing in the same sphere: scam books on Amazon. AI books may even be better!
Switch 2 rumors are pretty wild, I didn't believe it but now the iPhone 15 is getting RE4 Remake, the new AC, with full ray tracing. What is going on?! How does the relative power of the PS5 fit in a phone. So I guess Switch 2 can do that, yes please! I use switch at work, I want quality ports. I doubt Nintendo will ever bother to make amazing graphic games but here is hoping.
Love that we have two of them. But I don't think Sony has much thunder to show, it's a third party focus one.
Yeah, but doesn't that phone also cost like 3 times the amount of a PS5?
