But it doesn't show up on the search engines. How do I get it to appear?
It will be crawled eventually if it's linked to from another page that is crawled. But if you're impatient or it doesn't exist anywhere else, you can manually submit it for indexing uses the URL Inspection tool
If this is a business, you should probably have social media pages for it as well that link to your website. If you have a physical location, you should be adding the business to Google Maps. Those will also help with indexing and page rankings.
SEO in general is snake oil. Have written content. Say what you do. Have an FAQ if applicable. Try to include the name of your city and/or nearby areas.

Everything Elly said is good. I've got a few other SEO tips for you. First of all make sure you've registered with Google search console. It's free, you just have to go and sign the website up.
The size of your headlines is important. The first headline on the page should be the largest. The next one should be smaller, in each should either be the same size as the one before it or smaller.
Finally Google does like when you have numbered lists on your pages. Right now Google is big on something called "snippets" and those get created largely through lists and images on your pages.
I'm currently making a new professional website as well. It ain't easy.
I took a profession specific branding course 6 months ago and have been thinking about my branding and where I want to take my career ever since. I even started a facebook page and am doing a pretty good job at maintaining it, despite my ingrained revulsion towards social media and despite my reach being about 15 people.
I thought about paying to have a website built, but the more I think about it, the more the actual building part of it seems like the least work. I'm using wix, on which, while cumbersome, it is pretty easy to put something mildly visually pleasing together.
Sorry to hear, Foolz. I'm glad they didn't take it. Car thefts have been increasing in my city lately too.
Thanks! My cousins had a car stolen out the front about 15 or 20 years ago, so it's always been a thing here. Probably has got a bit worse over the years, though. Just waiting for the insurance company to tow it now...and having second thoughts about doing this through the insurance company, as the repairs may not end up being that much. But you don't know until you know! So I'll enjoy the hilarious contrast of going from driving a 25 year-old car, to a 2023 hybrid rental car for a few weeks.

I did get to Rehoboth Beach over the weekend, though, which was really nice. Wait a minute, I didn't give an update here -- As of July 24, I am also a US citizen! Corn syrup and SUVs for all!

And freedom. Don't forget freedom. Most of us US citizens take it for granted.
$250 on a $7000 repair, nice. Sucks that it happened, though.
My excess is $650, because I'm on my Ps; yet the car is only worth $3000 (according to the insurer, in the current market it's about double that, but they go by redbook bullshit).
Coincidentally, someone just tried to steal it, and I suspect failed because it's a manual, as there shouldn't have been any difficulties in them hotwiring it, and it always starts every time!
Now I just have to hope the repairs to the damage they've done comes in under $3000, and that the police get around to doing their forensic investigation so things can get moving.
That's miserable, but at least you have the satisfaction of them failing. I've been kind of expecting someone to try this with my car. I've got a Kia, and there have been a huge influx of Kia and Hyundai car thefts due to an exploit based on them not including an immobilizer. But my car, being an import from Canada, does have an immobilizer because it's required.

I think I'm having issues with back pain because of my sciatic nerve. Sleep has been hard to come by the last few days. This morning was miserable. Anyone have experience with this?
I missed nerve talk?! The issue is going to be a nerve root that's pinched, if it's going down your leg (sciatic nerve) then it's a lower lumbar like L5, S1, if it's high up like the thigh it might be more L4. Back pain is horrible and I had it one weekend and could even sit or walk or do anything, I just laid on the floor. I had a doc I worked with prescribe some med that helped with the pain. Usually it's an acute flare up and should be gone quick. I changed my mattress, sleeping position, did stretches, I haven't had an issue since.
the majority of back pain goes away on its own, chiropractors aren't really doing much. Some people swear by them, if it helps them good but it's not a cure. Just hope the nerve just got a flare up and with proper management it doesn't get further pinched. If it does then it's chronic pain or worse. Hope you are feeling better.

Plot twist, I went to the doctor and found out I have shingles, the reason for my pain.
I got to try MK1 beta, seems more of the same though that kameo system seems to open up a lot of crazy combos but that might be too advanced for me. I am excited by the new mode but it's replacing the Krypt, RIP Krypt. It's now like a game board and each space is a special fight or mini game and you unlock things the further you go. Looks really cool.

Hey! I resent that! Most of us Americans are slim, fit and healthy! *pours hot fudge sauce on top of peanut butter brownie ice cream*
