This weekend I dove into Pikmin 3 since I enjoyed 4's demo so much.

This was another all Final Fantasy XVI weekend for me. I have so many cool combat options to play with in battle. The game really paces things out well in giving more mechanics and what not. There’s so many crazy boss fights that put many end game bosses of other games to shame.

Visually, it looks like 3, though right now, I prefer the organic look of 3. Theres a lot of man made objects in the demo that just don’t look as great as the typical plants and vegetation in these games. Cant wait to see the new areas. Caves are back but remind me of the mini level caves from Pikmin 2.

I haven't played the demo, but I'm a bit weary of it specifically for that reason.  I much prefer the ambiguity about the exact setting over the clear nods to human civilization and from what I've heard Pikmin 4 leans heavily into that.

This weekend I've been playing NES: Tetris, Dr Mario, Galaga and Excitebike.

I started a playthrough of The Evil Within 2 on Nightmare difficulty, and have been constantly reminded why I don't play games on the higher levels of difficulty. It has not gone well.

I could actually intended to play the first one, but apparently my disc is corrupted or something. Every time I try to pause the game or pick up a new item the screen freezes and I can't progress. That's a bit frustrating.

This feels right. Happy

FF16 when I could play, great game. Been following the MS actuvision case and some of these emails and revelations are so juicy. Phil Spencer is all good guy I love all games, competition is good on camera. In emails he is ruthless, making games fully exclusive, wanting to buy everything.

Our telly is 10 years old now and still has a decent amount of different ports.  I dread the day that we need to get a new one as they come with far fewer ports these days.

I played nothing but Zelda this weekend.  I've done two temples so far and am now in the Zora region.  I'm going to go explore a bit though before taking on the next temple.

I finished RE3Remake, and played a few minutes of Revelations 2, but gave up on it for now. So have mainly been playing Need For Speed Unbound.

I really hate this fucking holiday. Some idiot a couple neighborhoods away started setting off fireworks around 1:00 in the morning. Knocked me out of a sound sleep, and I couldn't fall back asleep until around 3:00 AM. The firecracker scare the crap out of my dog too. So she was a nervous wreck and will be again tonight. And probably for the rest of the week, because people who like fireworks always tend to set them off for about a week.

The real problem is they've made fireworks too safe. Not as many people kill themselves or blow off their fingers like they used to.

I played the first one, but I find RTS games impossibly stressful (other than flight traffic controller games, which ... is that a form of RTS? Hrrrrm).

Yeah good luck finding component cable inputs these days. I am not looking forward to it.  I guess some form of adapters will have to be researched.

For some weird reason my HDTV has component cable inputs. I'd rather the space be used for more HDMI ports tbh, as component doesn't work that great on an HDTV. Useful for DVDs players, but not very good for games.

I use my HDTV's component/composite connection for my NES and Atari 7800, so I'm glad it has one. My TV's two HDMI ports are certainly not enough,
