I never gave Maniac Mansion much if a chance back in the day. Maybe one day soon.
I very briefly tried Maniac Mansion quite a long time ago. I think it was on the NES. Probably rented it and got stuck.

My high school friend had NES Shadowgate, which played pretty well with the gamepad, IIRC. I need to track down a copy of that game too.

I loooved Deja Vu. Never got a chance to play the sequel.
From what I've read it was also just very badly organized, with information being handed out worryingly late and incomplete, throwing up a lot of hurdles for those that did plan to be present on the show floor.
I don't think it will be missed per se, but I'm still sad to see it go.
When everyone has their own shows, it's harder to put aside the time to see what's going on, and easier to miss announcements. Especially for the smaller and mid-tier developers.
But alas it is gone. I know there's a few other shows out there doing similar things, but I am old and can't remember what they're called.
Seeing E3 get canceled makes me sad. It’s like gamer Christmas.
