Where do I login to see your post?
That's strange, the website ate my reply.
I managed to view the video through your log-in free link and was sufficiently impressed. I also didn't know we were an Indonesian colony, which is the only reasonable explanation as to why I couldn't see the video on vimeo.
also, my eldest has been learning how to play piano for about 3 years now. He can play a few popular songs, to which the youngest will sing along in what is a child's approximation of phoneticaly learned English.
Still have the back issues, those suck? Hope it all turns out well.
Finished Guardians, review is being posted. Started Forza Horizon 5, seems fun, lots to do. Not sure I understand why it's an arcade racer that still feels like a sim. When I have an open world in a racing game it's usually with car chases, and boosting and you know arcade stuff.
Got it, will have to find time to play it, obviously I've heard how great it is.
Archie started avengers, I need to start it later this month, Spider-Man is coming. I waited long enough.
I played Forza Horizon 4 when I first got my Xbone (was included) and I felt the same. It's too complex for an arcade game and too pared back to be a sim.
So Guardians is a great game but very much held up by its great storytelling and pacing, not so much the actual gameplay. It's also a very very by the book AAA game. I addressed my thoughts on gameplay and story in my review, I'll share that section below, your thoughts.
From my Guardians review:
I want to conclude the review by addressing the roles of story and gameplay in games and how many view it differently. For me it’s always been gameplay first but the story can always help tremendously to elevate a game. That’s is clearly the case here, Guardians is just any random average action adventure game but when you add the magic sauce of an excellent story, well written characters, great pacing, all the elements that make a AAA game feel like playing a major movie all of a sudden that average game rises to new levels. I can only go by how much I enjoyed my time playing this game and I had a smile from beginning to end. I laughed out loud plenty of times, I would get giddy with excitement at the idea of where the story was taking the Guardians to next. I would feel heartbreak when one of the characters reveals their most painful memories. It’s why I say gaming could be more powerful than movies or shows, it can do all the things those two can do but they can never place you in control, make you an active participant in the story and that alone makes gaming so much more interesting.
But others don’t feel the same way, I know many players that feel if a developer isn’t going to bother making a game with deep gameplay then it’s a waste of time. Some think a story driven game might be better off leaving behind average gameplay, they might say it just gets in the way. Some people play games in the lowest setting because they find the actual playing to be a chore. And others might be bored of the AAA template this game desperately adheres to. These are all aspects to consider when choosing to play a game like this, if any of what I mentioned above describes your feelings on certain games then maybe this one isn’t for you.
I think gamers are way too entitled. There's nothing wrong with average. Hell, half of the people on the world would be happy to manage to be 'average' themselves. Above average is overrated.
On the other hand, with how many games are being released these days I can totally see people arguing that there should be no need to put up with average with so many great games around. Then again, if a certain game caters to your tastes, by all means, enjoy it, be it average or not.
I had toe surgery this morning; permantely damaged middle joint from that car accident I had last summer. i have to wear a special boot for the next 4-6 weeks. We've had beautiful weather in Colorado lately, and it really sucks I can't go hiking.
Anyway, I bought a two Switch games today: Civ 6 ($9) and KOTOR ($15). I've never played a Civ game before, so this should be interesting to learn. I beat KOTOR on the orignal Xbox back in the day. I may do a Dark side charater.
That sucks. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
I wish. They fused the two bones together, eliminating the joint between them altogether. Once healed, I won't be able to bend that toe in the middle. It won't affect my walking but no more picking up pencils off the floor with my toes. Pain should be gone too.
KOTOR still holds up. Nice smooth framerate and graphics. Gameplay is a lot of fun too.
I hope KOTOR 2 gets a remaster as well someday.
I'm going to mess around with it later in handheld mode, but I am much less interested in trying to run through the game now.
Potential bowel cancer issues.
Had the chance to try some Forza horizon demos, didn't like it. Feels very sterile. Saw the new one on YouTube, similar. I love arcade racers, boosting, smashing other cars, being chased by cops. Have you tried Asphalt 9? It's free.
GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is not good
Yeah, hearing bad things.
I recently finished the campaign in Marvel’s Avengers and it’s quite a mediocre game overall. Kind of janky in the gameplay department, convoluted in the menus and UI, and fairly ho-hum in the story with some decent moments here and there.
Been playing lots of Forza Horizon 5 though and absolutely loving it.
Played a little of San Andreas and the city is empty. I didn't remember that. Yeah, definitely outdated controls that rides on nostalgia.
But it also sounds like the remasters are pretty buggy. I see it getting compared to cyberpunk, which I think is an exaggeration. Still, the PC release got pulled, so that definitely says something.
Blows my mind, saw some gta remaster footage and it still literally looked like a ps2 game. Then watched some gta 3 footage and the gunplay... Craaaaap. I'd forgotten how janky it was.
Also the switch versions being 25fps is just lame, especially when I've played Burnout Paradise and Asphalt 9 on this thing.
