that's the most frustrating thing about Control - that bizarre spike in difficulty with him. He's probably the hardest boss fight in the game, at least until you face him again in the post game.

If you can get through that though, there really won't be anything else stopping you in the game. Maybe one or two other segments will give you trouble, but those are easier to learn from your mistakes and figure out.

Thanks for the heads up.  I didn't go in to this expecting a big challenge and might have just given up on it (thanks GamePass).  Now I'll press on and see where it goes from here.

good luck. I'd offer some strategy, but I never really figured anything out. Even during my second playthrough, it took me two or three times before I could beat him. I suspect there might be a similar feature to that one in Resident evil 4, where the game incrementally decreases the difficulty of boss fights every time you die so that you don't get stuck for too long.

If so it must be very incrementally  LOL

As far as what I've seen is that tossing stuff at him doesn't seem to damage him?  I'm guessing tossing stuff makes him vulnerable, so I'll first toss a desk at him and then shoot him a bit.  I've come close(ish) to beating him, I'm sure I'll manage it next time I play.

Conker Live and Reloaded is coming to XBGold July 15th.  I have fond memories of the original.  Looking forward to playing the original Xbox version.

My dudes! I just had to suspend playing the demo for Forgotten Anne and make a post cause it's so freaking good. It's got an 83 on metacritic. The game has this awesome premise where forgotten objects drop to an underworld where they come to life. Imagine a scarf with glasses talking and moving. It starts with movie quality animation cutscenes which then seamlessly blends into gameplay. The movement of the main character is basically hand drawn hq Anime. The World feels so cool, there are rebels which have caused a power outage and you play as Anne in her tower home. The backgrounds, art and music blend together to feel like a Studio Ghibli movie come to life. It's very cool. And unique feeling. I'm heading back in! Try the demo. Completely finished the demo then immediately went back in for a 2nd run. It's now on my wishlist ๐Ÿ˜Š

Completed Enigmatis Ghosts of Maple Creek. This is an older game so the image quality is much softer and overall there are far too many hidden object scenes in the game. Later games intersperse them at a fair pace but sometimes this game will whisk you from one scene to the next so it can get tiring towards the end of the game. I had to play it to see what went before its much better sequel. Its still a good game, though a tad unbalanced and I'm looking forward to playing the 3rd when it comes out on switch.

Tried the Monster Hunter stories 2 demo. Didn't take. Lovely BOTW style character models. Controls a touch stodgy but ultimately turn based battles killed it for me. And them throwing up walls of text for tutorials rather than an in game approach. It seems really high quality, you can tell they put a lot of effort into it. Just not my thing.

I trying out the original one and I don't think I made it more than an hour or so. I realize the game was targeting a younger audience, but once I realized they referred to the monsters "monsties" I was out.  I can't help but feel that's talking down to your audience even if the audience you're going after is 10 years old.

That'll never happen.  You'll just have to get a PS4 and buy the $8 game.

Hey, I don't know how many of you guys were Sopranos fans, but if you were and you haven't seen the trailer for the new prequel movie, The Many Saints of Newark, you got to check it out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a290pgxuemE

James Gandolfini's son plays a young Tony, and no paternity test needed, that's his kid. Anyway, well the resemblance is nice, it absolutely has the same feel as the original show. David Chase is definitely making sure this is going to live up to it.

Oh nice. Will definitely have to check it out. Loved the show.

Edit: Just checked it out and yeah looks pretty good. He definitely has his fatherโ€™s nose. LOL

I love that Ray Liotta is in it.

There's a much better story and atmosphere in the demo, though I feel the silent protagonist doesn't suit the game. Honestly it's a huge jump from the 3ds game.

I thought it looked great.  I may need to give the Sopranos another watch.

Jesus, I've been trying to complete True Fear 2. The game is like 3x as big as the first game! You're in this asylum and its broken into blocks with exteriors. You can do an interaction in one block and then the next thing you can do is room 6 of 10 in a completely different area. There's no backtracking thanks to the fast travel, and loading is near instantaneous. But there's so much stuff that I can't remember parts of other rooms that need to be manipulated. In most hidden object games - actually I should point out that there are hardly any traditional hidden object scenes in this game (not a bad thing) it's basically a first person horror adventure game. Anyhow in most of these games I go as far as I can before taking a hint which gently points you in the right direction. This game is so big and complex in some ways in sheer number of scenes that the hint system becomes integral to gameplay. It leaves me with the feeling of constant mild confusion. Like it's more a test of memory.

$30 for a forced PS5 upgrade just to play the ghost expansion, ehhhh. I'll wait for half off.

So over the past week we got Silent Hill most likely the game Konami made a deal with Bloober to make. Bloober is pretty terrible, medium was a boring ass game, I have zero faith for Silent Hill.

We now have a dead space remake in the works by Motive, the squadrons team. Ok I'll be down with that.

More Control is great, not the multiplayer one, don't care for that. But a bigger budget control game, yes please.

You can still play it on PS4 for $20. The expansion is on both. The only thing the PS5 has over the PS4 version is lip-synching for the Japanese dub, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and 3D audio.

SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:

  • SMB Mix-Up! (1AB2-0000-0047-5A7D)
  • Storm the Castle (77BD-0000-00E0-A9C0)

the big takeaway I got from the news about the Control multiplayer game is that they see that game as a universe that they can continue to expand upon. Probably won't happen, but I still think it could make for a heck of an X-Files clone.

Eh, even in your review you commented on the narrative actually being pretty good in The Medium. Bloober working on it is one of the few ways in which a new Silent Hill could be interesting, if you ask me.
