Finished Grim Fandango. Probably one of my least favourite graphic adventures. The game is too big, yet mostly empty. You spend most of the time sprinting over large areas. And because you are sprinting, Manny doesn't then turn his head to points of interest. The story has a good premise yet descends into bland mobster fare. But the worst thing is that there are lots of puzzles that make no sense. There is no logic behind them. It asks you (or should I say it remains silent and expects you to work out) the most improbable of connections. Why would I ever want to stuff an oily rag into a toaster? How would I know that the only way to disarm a bomb is to fill a bottle with dirty sink water then randomly give it to Glotis who then throws up vomit which can then be frozen? It goes completely over my head. It's also ugly, I know this may have looked good at the time but I'm a 2D man and that would have aged so much better.

Wow disappointing. I used to hear it was one of the best adventure games but recently I hear a lot more about the negatives.

So is Discord a big-big thing, or just a big thing?  I don't really use it myself and as with all social media it has totally passed me by.  Would it be worth it for MS to buy them?

I'm always on that which is why I'm not here as much.

There's been rumours flying about concerning the new Switch model's use of DLSS.  It seems like a no brainer really.  If they mean draw is outputting at 4K, count me out.  I don't even own a 4K capable screen.

4k screens are pretty standard now. Not even sure they are making new 1080p sets. And you can get them a lot cheaper than you think. Personally I whack up the sharpness to max when playing switch or wii u and it looks nice.

There are some graphic adventures of its golden era that just came out too late as I ditched PC gaming. This one I always assumed it was some Legendary game. When it was like £3 in the sale I jumped on it. Very disappointed overall. I should pimp out Broken Sword 5 more. If I hadn't of watched the making of videos I never would have known it was a kickstarter game. It's much better. I'm thinking of getting the Telltale Sam and max remastered but I didn't enjoy the OG Telltale one on wii a lot.

As someone with kids and other similar expenses, I'm of a 'if it ain't broke, don't replace it' mentality.

Never was interested in playing Grim Fandango. The whole look of the game just didn’t appeal to me.

It’s sounding like the Switch “Pro” if it ever comes to fruition may retail at $399 USD.

New Joycon patent approved. Has a traditional d-pad. Analog stick looks to have a lower profile. Patent is from 2018.

Bought Syberia. When I first saw the trailer I thought it was some low budget piece of....
Then upon doing a little reading it appears to be well regarded as a point and click classic. It's fugly as hell but so cheap I thought I'd give it a try. Hope it pays off. BTW I found this YouTube channel that does video reviews of, even obscure and indie games for Switch. The channel is called Switch Up.
BTW what's everyone's opinion on Ethan Carter and/or Edith Finch?

Never played Ethan Carter or Edith Finch and honestly have no interest in them either.

I’m on a hipster roll baby. LOL

Also,

Ethan Carter: Very pretty, kinda boring puzzles, and ultimately not a very interesting story. Worth it if you love how it looks.

Edith Finch: Has some pretty cool moments in it, and a lot of forgettable ones. Definitely worth it for the cool parts, though.

Thanks. I heard Ethan Carter used some special graphics technique. I'd like to hear more about it. I played the demo of Darkestville Castle on Switch last night. It's a graphic adventure where you play as a Jack Skellington type character. Pretty fun, funny, nice looking and user friendly. Will buy on sale. Started Little Acres, only £0.99. Really love the animation, very pre-90s Disney like. Doesn't seem to have a cursor speed option so its a little slow to play on the big screen but it has touch controls. There's also a demo for Agent A. Retry brief but fun first person perspective graphic adventure like where you skull about a secret agents house for clues. Easy, fun, throwaway but will buy when cheap.

Spent half a day fixing my website.  Apparently for some reason not all forms filled in by potential clients were getting forwarded to my mailbox.  Had to look up passwords, dive into the backend of my website, scouring settings for what could be wrong.  Turned out my webmail mailbox was sorting some forms as spam mail, thus not forwarding them to my Outlook.  no

That's 2 hours wasted solving the problem and another 2 hours moaning about it to everyone who'll listen.  Bah.  angry

That's what you'd think, but previous similar encounters have proven that by the time I need to tackle the same issue, I've long forgotten how I solved it the last time.  yes
