Yeah it’s going to take me some time to get adjusted to the controls in Monster Hunter Rise. I’ve spent well over 1,000 hours playing Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on the Xbox One controller so it’s pretty much just muscle memory from that now.
I'm kind of glad I held off on Iceborne. I really don't think I would have been interested in playing Rise If I had spent a good chunk of last year playing Iceborne. There is such a thing as too much monster hunter.
As it is though, I'm not entirely sure I will buy this until it gets its first sale. Way too much of a backlog as it is right now.
I'm still playing Iceborne, so I won't be getting this right away either. Perhaps we could all wait for a good sale and play through it simultaneously, which would also make it more fun whenever we manage to play the game together.
Im in this boat, I have tried multiple demos over the years and nothing grabs me. I look at trailers and videos and think this series is perfect for me but when I play it I am not enjoying myself. I guess I never learned how to properly plan or use traps. It just seems like really long repetative boss battles with poor controls. I will try Rise demo now but I wont get my hopes up.
I tried again with the lance. It got better and I kind of saw the appeal. The epic music plays, it runs, I chase. I attack, it runs again. Then after about half of hour smacking it around (included as a mounted attack using another monster) this thing ain't dying and I realise that this is not enjoyable to me. I quit and wistfully remember the Hyrule Warriors age of calamity demo. Yes I want to smack around 30 enemies at once in seconds then move onto the next group. That's fun.
did you unlock the time extender and hint system where they mark red circles as puzzle solutions? Makes it a lot easier. Anyway I wasn't feeling the game as much as past Paper Mario's until I did the mountain and then the Japanese village theme park and ninja house. That whole thing was awesome. The humour though is nowhere near as good as past games.

Yeah but the combat is never interesting. The world and scenarios are fun but I just lost track of playing it.
Yeah Bowser’s Fury looks great indeed. I still have Mario 3D World for the Wii U but I’m still pretty hyped to get this Switch version as well. Only a month away now.
Super Mario 3D World was a ton of fun and probably the best new Mario game since the first Galaxy. But I think I'll hold off a while before getting the new version with Bowser's Fury. I'd rather focus on games I haven't played before. Of course my latest purchase and I'll be posting about shortly will prove me to be a complete hypocrite in this regard.
I'm currently playing Mario 3d world with my nephews. It's only now that I appreciate the focus on some local multilayer games. 3dworld is fantastic for multiple people. Shitty players get bubbled, good players complete the levels. You can pick each other up, complain about each other, argue about who nabs the power ups. Unless Bowsers fury is over 8 hours I'm not re-buying it.
The new Pokémon Snap game has me pretty hyped. The original was a lot of fun and this looks very nice in terms of graphics. Gameplay hasn't aged a bit, so I hope they don't mix it up too much.
Depending on how fast the world gets vaccinated, this could be another hit for Nintendo as people crave to just be out and about.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that game. I never played the original but I do hear people talk fondly of it. I’m kind of curious about it myself.
I'm looking forward to Snap too. I was so sure that this was going to happen on the Wii U. There was a photo minigame in Game & Wario where you held the Wii U Pad like a camera towards the screen and that was essentially a proof of concept for Pokemon Snap. Anyway, better late than never and glad we're finally getting a good sequel.
That said, I do hope they make it a little bit longer than the original. I don't need some 40-hour epic out of it, but if they can make the base game around 10 hours I'll be happy.
I believe he flew back to America to attend to some urgent political activism he had planned...
Yep it's true. He was added to the no-fly list during the event and now he can't go home. He's actually living in an airport terminal now with really bad wifi.
PSA: From January 18th to the 25th Nintendo will be running an event in Super Mario Bros. 35. If players can collectively defeat Bowser 3.5 million times then everyone who at least defeated one Bowser will get 350 Platinum Coins. We must all do our part. Remember, if you’re not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.
They should have just integrated photo taking in the mainline Pokemon games. Also have you guys seen this awesome narrated Pokemon switch trailer? https://youtu.be/4SJIqxOZMmo

Bowsers Fury looks great. Noooo don't make me buy another old game for $60. Stop it!

So what happened to Aspro? Did his Quest and VR capable PC arrive and has he been lost in interactive animated VR porn ever since?
Couldn't blame him if he was.

Yay! I came first in Super Mario Bros. 35! I’m number one! I’m number one!
