So I guess buying 120 candy pieces was overkill... Im only playing tonight with one character and 30 candy. And have 26 left as people in houses give them out. And you can dress as Jack and get candy too.

Screw da splat fest. Got too many dupes. Gave up on Halloween. UK government locking down again for a month. And work is still going to charge us fees, around 800 USD. With no income. Fuck covid.
Played Control demo on switch. Game uses the cloud. I have a 10mbps Internet and this runs like shit. There is constant audio hitching so it's like the sound is being played through an old record player. The picture is fuzzy at best and there is constant slow down. The controls are laggy enough to be deemed unplayable. And overall it looks shitty. What's the excuse for a cloud version here? As I'm 100 percent sure a proper port would look and play a million times better than this.
I have 100Mbps Internet and tried the Control demo and it ran quite well. It obviously looked much better then a straight up Switch version ever could but still I’m not into streaming games myself. I’d much rather devs make a true version of a game that runs natively on the platform. Having said that I probably wouldn’t get this on the Switch myself. Since I have an Xbox One I’d just stick with that version plus it’ll get a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X.

Apparently the game doesn't perform well on Xbone and PS4, so might be better off waiting for the next gen version.
Which brings us to the main point: would you prefer a game that runs poorly but is rendered locally to a superior version streamed to your console? Of course, this presumes you have internet that's superior to GG's London backwaters version.

I have an OG PS4 and I found the complaints about how it ran to be overblown. A few of the bigger chaotic fights had some slowdown, but those moments were pretty rare. Certainly nothing so bad that made me want to stop playing.

Yeah I find that most times people tend to get a bit carried away with criticizing technical flaws in games sometimes. Perhaps it’s the nature of the internet or perhaps I’m just not as sensitive to these things or perhaps it’s a combination of the two. 🤷♂️
Anyway if I do get the Xbox One version I’ll get a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X version. I could also just wait and see if they put out a physical version for XSX too but there’s no guarantee of that so who knows.
Speaking of which I tried the Age of Calamity demo and really enjoyed it. Day one purchase confirmed. There’s been some people saying that the frame rate and draw distance makes it borderline unplayable but I didn’t really have much of an issue with those myself.

Wow. It looked awful on my connection. I was interested in seeing how cloud games hold up. The problem is that at my other place the Internet is even slower and it wouldn't even run I'm guessing.

why would anyone prefer a game that renders poorly, locally or externally? Literally any other switch game looks better than this, on my 10mbps Internet. But the control lag is unforgivable.

I was fairly surprised at the demo. It was pretty fun. The framerate is inconsistent but not bad enough to piss me off and some areas were smoother than others. The cutscenes were great. Every time I thought it would get boring they threw a new move or more powerful enemy to beat. It was decent. I like the whole feeling of being back in the world only experiencing larger events that were only talked about before. Some of the rock textures are a bit bunk though. Could also do with some Skyward Sword style motion controls and aiming.

Yeah I’m really interested in playing through the events prior to what happened in Breath of the Wild.

I'm curious as if, and to what extent, the world map will have been altered. I saw a gameplay trailer where they gave a shoutout to how you were seeing the exact same location as in BotW. It was some room in the Gerudo city. It was kind of neat, but it would have been really great if it had been different. After all, this is set 100 years prior to BotW

Yeah, it's probably Cloud because porting it to Switch isn't possible. It's actually a pretty graphically intensive game, GG (even without ray-tracing).
Happy Halloween! 🎃👻
Hoarder!
