...  Yeahhhh.  Whenever I see something like that, it just looks like a bunch of rubbish stacked in such an order, that if someone tells you what it's supposed to be, and you squint so hard you could pinch a grain of salt between your eyelids, you could see the resemblance if you were in an optimistic mood.

I'm so familiar with the items, that I like you, seen a bunch of trash.

A wiimote with nunchuck and motion plus dongle would set you back $80 in 2009. And those required batteries.

I love the Pro controller for the Switch, use it all the time now. Will probably get a couple more joycons sometime down the road because I still like them for portable play.

The Wii-remote alone was $70, nunchuks $30 or so...then motion plus on top of that, but I can't remember what it was as I got it with Red Steel 2. At least $50. But the PS3 controller was $80-120, too. Luckily it was easy to import them for $50-60.

I really liked Red Steel 2.  It had a cool graphical concept and when playing it on 'heavy motion controls' or whatever, it really felt like you were in the action.  But as with more Wii games, you couldn't help but wonder how things would have been if the Wii itself had been more powerfull.  some of the cutscenes were visually beautifull, but also far removed from what actual gameplay looked like.

It seems that Nintendo won't be selling physical game cards with download codes in stores anymore.  Personally I've always found this to be a weird concept and a waste of plastic, but I get that it was a compromise for brick and mortar stores to profit some from digital purchases.

Over at Eurogamer people are crying foul, how this is anti-consumer and how they could find good deals this way as stores would discount these cards and how Nintendo sales are always so piss poor.  The usual things.  Do MS or Sony even offer this kind of physical/digital hybrid cards?

To be clear, you are talking about physical cards with digital download codes for specific games right?  Because I don't really understand those either. they're not Nintendo exclusive though. I see them a lot for PC. I don't know so much about Xbox or PlayStation, but I've never really paid that close attention.

It was a good way for those who don’t or can’t use credit cards to buy the games from their online store. You also could just pay the exact amount for the game instead of buying the other fixed amount cards and having left over currency sitting in your virtual wallet. Never used them myself but I see their value and it’s a shame to see them go.

I’m sure I’ve seen some for Xbox and PlayStation here and there but the Nintendo ones were much more prevalent.

Nintendo has finally acknowledged the joycon drift. They apologized for any problems that this might have caused some consumers but since there is an ongoing class action lawsuit in the US they won’t comment any further on it or any fixes.

I think I'm going to wait to see how this is resolved with the joycons before I take the plunge into getting a Switch. Kind of a shame too, because I just found out I have some frequent flyer miles expiring, and apparently I can use those points and get a copy of Splatoon 2.

Yes.  Apparently not being able to buy these anymore is a huge deal, as they were often much cheaper than buying the game digitally in the estore.  It is, apparently, just another example of Nintendo's incredibly anticonsumer stance.

Get it and send it over to Archie.  If there ever was a herretic in need of a conversion, it's him.

I hope they are keeping the Nintendo points cards at least.

Do it!

If they fix the joycon drift then you will be able claim to have the OG joycons. Those things will be rare. Rare I tell you!

Man, it’s so much nicer having the bigger screens of the new 2DS XL to play on and the faster boot up and game loading is a big plus as well. I have a number of 3DS games in the backlog to play and this thing will make it much easier to do so.

Yeah but I haven’t seen any of those where I live for a very long time. I probably would have gotten one of those if they were as comparatively cheap as the 2DS XL is right now.
