Oh me, oh mi.
That involves blood, apparently.
They could be separate rituals, or a combination of bodily substances in the one ritual, like eating the blood, and the flesh, of Christ in the Eucharist.
...and there’s nothing else to add to that.
Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony publish joint statement against President Trump's proposed tariffs on consoles manufactured in China
I haven't read the statement yet, that'll be for in the weekend, but the general argument seems to be that this will just make consoles more expensive to buy for American citizens. Which was the obvious way this tax wars would pan out. Have any of you Americans noticed goods actually becoming more expensive because of import tarrifs?
Switch's next Tegra X1 looks set to deliver more performance and longer battery life
That's a bit of a false statement. It's basically just a revision of the Tegra X1 produced on a smaller transistor process, which probably came about because as everyone moves over to 7nm, the 16nm finFet process probably got a lot cheaper, or the 20nm is just being shut down. This theorethically allows for higher clocks, but as is often the case with such revisions, these will probably be locked to the same clocks as the original models. Battery life will improve though, so that's positive.
Xbox Game Pass is fantastic but don’t forget that you don’t own these games
Interesting read, even if they're just stating the obvious. The dangers of subscription models is that in the end you'll need so many of them you'll be paying more for the privilege of access than you would for just owning the games you wanted to play. On the other hand, subscriptions will harm actual sales, as people wait for a game to be added to the subscription service, or will not leave the subscription ecosystem and opt to miss out on certain games as they'd require a surplus investment.
I think this discussion is very similar to the one regarding Steam's summer sale and general aggressive discounting, where you can argue that discounts are cannabilizing the same game's full-price sales.
On the other hand, with subscriptions you could argue that it mitigates some of the risk of game development. Surely MS knows exactly how many games the average gamer buys per year. If they can sell them a subscription for the same amount MS is making just as much, while providing a 'better' (save for actual ownership) experience to the end user. If said income is then divided over all games that are included in the service, it could mean a more steady income for smaller developers.
As long as the 2 ecosystems, being actual ownership and subscription, can coexist on a single platform, I don't think it to be a harmfull situation. If anything, smaller developers will be more inclined to opt in on the subscription, out of fear of not selling enough copies should they chose not to.
I haven’t noticed much of a change myself, but I haven’t made any noticeable purchases during the last few years. I bought my Switch before the tariff nonsense. Software seems about the same, however, I haven’t even looked into a new system. Maybe I should call around and check on pricing.
Yeah, just what I’m thinking. I dont want a system tied down to subscription only.
Unless Nintendo pulls another "New 3DS" and increases the clock speed on future Switch models.
No, but things like this take time to kick in.
Honestly, there's more to be concerned about than having to pay more for a video game console, so it's pretty low on my list of concerns. It's a complicated issue with both good and bad short term and long term effects. Much of which stems from the exporting of American jobs for decades to areas where corpoations can save money. I myself would gladly pay double for something like a game console if it was 100% built to last in the USA & the profits were going back into the economy, giving Americans jobs in the process instead of having to work in the dying retail sector SELLING all this stuff that's built elsewhere. But most people just see a pricetag & don't think any further than that.
I'm thinking the new consoles are going to be pretty expensive anyway regardless of this. They would have to be if they're any kind of jump up from current tech...at least $500. Should be interesting.
Youve gone too far.
Revealed too much?
Breath of the wild - I started this last summer, but put it away after Dragon Quest 11 came out. I only got about 20 hours in oh, so it's safe to say I didn't even scratch the surface.
Twilight Princess - I've only played this game a single time, and I was listening to a few songs off of the soundtrack, and has made me wonder if I should go back to it.
Wind waker - I haven't played it all the way through since it was on the GameCube. I did a false start with it shortly after it was released on the Wii U, but once again got distracted by something else.
Skyward sword - I have never touched this game. And I know there were some gripes about the motion controls, but I've always wondered if I was missing out on not even touching this.
SS is flawed but has incredible moments. TP is all great but you played it. BOTW is time sink, be prepared for that.
I recommend playing Breath of the Wild.
