I've been trying to read articles on Googles new streaming console bullshit and it's so boring and complicated to read with all this technical info that I just gave up halfway through every article. I don't even care. With my internet speed it would in no way work anyway.
My internet would be fine for Google Stadia but I just don’t want it. I greatly prefer having physical copies of my games running on systems that I buy and have locally. Not only because I like having a physical collection of games and systems but also because it is the best control that we as consumers have over the product that we purchase.
There's also a big difference between the medium videogames and that of film and music. For one it's much more expensive, thus creating a feeling of value in owning a physical collection which would lead to gamers being much more reluctant to go all in with streaming. It's also much more personal due to it's interactive nature and average relative long length.
I don't see Google attracting a lot of core gamers to their service, nor do I see them converting many non-gamers due to the above stated. Perhaps they'll find success with casual or lapsed gamers, or with the younger generation who are more into sampling a bit of everything than actually completing games.
Like I said at EG: Google doesn't have the credibility or user base to pull this off. Ms is in a much better position. If Stadia were phase 2 of MS's xCloud, everyone would be hyped for this.
That said maybe there's hope it'll scare the other guys into lowering or cancelling their online gaming fees.
Like VR, streaming will be the future at some point but it’s still in a rough early state. I don’t think we have the online infrastructure yet for this. Of course nothing matters if they don’t have games.
Of course that doesn't make for a sound business plan.
Admittedly there are some pretty cool aspects to having games stream from the cloud, some that I hadn’t even thought of before.
Came in here expecting to see some kind of reaction to The Legend of Zelda: Cadence of Hyrule and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice reviews and...
...Nothing! 😧
And really the most important thing is "Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy." It was the remake we never knew we needed.
I watched some Sekiro on Twitch last night and the game looks pretty damn awesome. I may be picking it up sooner then I was planning.
I must say that I’m very happy to see Konami releasing an Arcade Anniversary Collection, Castlevania Anniversary Collection, and Contra Anniversary Collection. I wish they were bringing them out on physical formats as well but sadly they are digital only. Oh well still very hyped for them.
I wasn’t around. Hold on let me get ready... ok
Zzzzzzeeeeelllllddddaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooooooo!!!!!!
I didn’t really care for crypt so uhhh I will still get it, hope I like it.
Sekiro!!!!!! Another masterpiece, just started it.
Castlevania
Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge (second Gameboy game)
Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse
Super Castlevania 4
So the question is what will the other four be? Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood are probably out since those were just released together last year. I'm holding out for Bloodlines and the Wiiware remake of Castlevania Adventure. If we get those, it'll be a good collection.
Sekiro is incredible. That is all.
The best Castlevania game (Bloodlines) is always absent...
One of the site's forefathers.
This memo was leaked by the Thurrot which was sent by Phil Spencer to various Microsoft employees about Stadia
Today we saw a big tech competitor enter the gaming market, and frame the necessary ingredients for success as Content, Community and Cloud.
But I want get back to us, there has been really good work to get us to the position where we are poised to compete for 2 billion gamers across the planet.
We have to stay agile and continue to build with our customer at the center. We have the content, community, cloud team and strategy, and as I’ve been saying for a while, it’s all about execution. This is even more true today.
Energizing times.
Phil
Try to get past the graphics. Grim Fandango is one the finest games of the adventure game genre. The script is second to none.
Why are you shouting?
