LOL

So I just installed Shenmue Collection on PS4. Seems to me the disc just unlocks the digital copies....you don't actually have the games on the disc. You have to download each game and it says right next to it once downloaded "PSN Game". As much as I love having these on current consoles, that's pretty lame.

I second this.  My son played through the whole of Mario Odyssey in Assist mode as well.  I think it was done very well, where they take away a lot of the elements that would put kids under pressure, while still requiring them to actually complete all of the game, as opposed to giving them a magic way of skipping more challenging sections.

they kept jumping on candles and laughing as Marios ass burned. They also jumped into the abyss repeatedly and assist mode brought them back.

Guacamelee 2 review - a bold, bright 2D adventure

God damn I still can't believe this snuck up on me like it did. Then again with so many heavy hitters coming up the horizon I suppose it was easy for it to get a bit lost of in the shuffle. Oh well, I'll get to it before the year is out I'm sure.

I've literally played one game that was released this year. I'm comfortable saying at this rate I'll never catch up.

The latest NVC had a really good interview with Julian Eggebretch, head of Factor 5. You might remember them from games like Super Turrican, the awesome N64/GameCube Star Wars games, and the infamous Mature Kid Icarus. The company went down due to a string of unfortunate events, including LAIR for PS3, a cancelled Superman game, and a cancelled Star Wars game. In the interview, Julian touched some interesting points, including:

- The Star Wars Wii game they had was basically done, and it would have blown people's minds. It looked stunning (he said the upressed assets wouldn't be to far from SWBII), and he believed is the best game Factor 5 had ever done.
- After the cancellation, some of the members were fed up and quit the gaming industry. A lot of the core team, however, remains together to this day.
- They have worked with streaming companies (Netflix, Amazon), and now work with HULU.
- He visited Nintendo of Japan last week (maybe for HULU reasons??)
- They have worked on a couple small mobile games under a different company name.
- They would like to come back to gaming, although not sure if it would be AAA gaming.
- The project they would love to do most is a remake of their cancelled Star Wars game, but for Switch. It would take a lot of talking with EA, Lucas Arts, and other companies to make it happen.
- Didnt sound like it was impossible, so who knows.
- His GOTY is either Zelda BOTW or Mario Odyssey.

Damn, Julian Eggebretch still sounds like he jerks off to naked Miyamoto pics. LOL

Wasn't that Star Wars game just a Trilogy port of the Rogue Squadron series? Or was that the game that got cancelled for the original Xbox? Or was that the same game? Good luck getting that officially published today...doesn't seem like Disney and EA have any desire to do anything decent with the brand.

Factor 5 were very talented, but much like Silicon Knights, they fucked themselves over with some really bad mistakes. Of course, SK suing Epic takes the cake...how they thought that was a good idea blows my mind. I actually just popped in Too Human in the 360 the other night for the first time since beating it back in 2008. It's really too bad they had to try and come up with some retarded control scheme for it because the main meat of the game was very solid. It still looks great and of course in usual SK style, the story is well told. One day I'd like to replay the whole thing just to see it all again. A shame we'll never get parts 2 & 3. Then again, it's also a shame we'll never get Eternal Darkness 2.

Why put out a Dark Souls Trilogy pack after just releasing the first game remastered? Should have just put the Trilogy pack out in the first place and made that the way to get the remastered original....

Weird things going on.

For a start the Switch version of Dark Souls 1 remastered comes out the same day as the trilogy, which isn't coming to Switch. Meanwhile, the trilogy doesn't seem to be coming to Europe, wtf?

Oh god, that would have been horrible. I already have Dark Souls II & III with all the dlc for both on the Xbox One. Forcing people like me to spend $80+ just to get the remastered first game would have been a terrible idea. This is just a convenient package for people to get the whole Dark Souls package in one shot.

$80? It wouldn't need to be that much. Is that what they're selling the Trilogy for? I was thinking more like the price of a normal game.

Yeah I think it’s going for $80 US. Anyway even if it went for the price of the average game it would still be a terrible idea to force everyone who already had the other two games to purchase them again just to get the remaster of the first game.
