Glad to hear everything went well. Try to keep your spirits up for the recovery, those things can take their toll.
I finally beat godamn level 4 Grand Prix in Arms.
Dat final boss though....
Anyhow, the way I beat level 4 was by beating level 3 with every character which was practice for me essentially and then by the time I hit level 4 it actually wasn't that bad.
One thing that annoys me is the AI regarding rush attacks. The opponent will always arse about holding their rush attack till they have the perfect moment in which you cannot guard or dodge. And if you should dare jump at the wrong time or throw out two punches its game over and they launch the attack. Whereas they readily and sometime omniscently avoid your rush attacks.
So I've found all you can do is really back way off, dodge and only ever throw out one punch and wait patiently so you can always dodge or block their super. This often leads to the clock running down - which isn't a bad thing as long as you have more life then them when it runs out. But its kinda satisfying to screw them over like that. Only really works on larger levels though.

So worse than Pokken tournament then?
im late so, Good luck on the surgery raven!
And now, yay it went well! Good luck on gen recovery, we are here for support!
SNES Classic Edition announced!
Releasing on September 29th.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Yay now I can fail at getting an SNES classic!
Awesome news about the SNES Classic. Hopefully I'll be able to get one this time. Great list of games however Chrono Trigger should have absolutely been included. A big miss there.
Being able to get my hands on a SNES classic would be awesome. Although I'm wondering what it'll be priced over here. Pre-orders in the UK show £70, which is more expensive than the NES classic was. I guess they marked it up seeing how fast the NES classic sold out.
That's the one game I was looking for and how is it not there? Damn.
This is sweet but I still say they should let us hook these things up to the internet and buy more SNES games to download onto it. Huge missed opportunity there.
That definitely would have been nice.
"coming out above all other fighting game entries within the last 7 years"
Looking at the games list I either own or don't want the other games I don't own from that list. Wii VC was awesome.
If only it was cross generational.
It SHOULD be cross generational! Virtual Condole is completely absent so far and that is unacceptable.
I'm already greatly enjoying my SNES Classic aka my Raspberry Pi. Of course it doesn't have Star Fox 2, but I don't start Star Fox 1 or any other game in the series. Plus people dress up as him and I hate furries, so the game can rot for all I care.
Same. Star fox one was pretty shit.
Star Fox 64 is the shit though.
Nice. As much as this is going to be an ardous experience, convalescence and rediscovering how to do things will also have its joys.
Called the only dedicated games retailer to inform if I could preorder the SNES mini. It's incredible how in the dark they always are regarding limited editions or anything special. They didn't know a price, nor when it'd release, nor how much units they'd receive. They noted down my name, but I was already way down on the list.
Godamn this game is so fricking good. I haven't been as into a fighter since the original Streetfighter 2.
Since beating level 4 in the Grand Prix as one character, I've been tearing up the level 4 as multiple other characters. The learning curve is awesome. At first it feels too hard and punishing, then you get better and better, work out what Arms counteract other arms and playing more tactically.
Being really tested by the final boss is a blast, you end up feeling like Neo at the end of The Matrix, seeing things that happen so fast in a kind of slow motion, reading everything, your brain processing everything at super fast speeds and you get this rush in your head and it feels amazing.
I love it when I look at the opponets Arms and select the perfect counter, then I'm backing off and countering, dodging. I was doing some things that amazed myself, I was dodging-jumping-midair dodging-landing on a spring pad then super high bouncing, attacking in midair and landing, backing off, charging. That all happened in a couple of seconds
