Seriously though, IDK if it would be possible timing wise or if Nintendo would shell out the money, but id's DOOM team would make an incredible Metroid Prime. I'd actually rather have them do it than Retro at this point.
I also would still like an HD version of Prime Trilogy. They keep making all these fucking Wii U ports of stuff like Pokken Tournament, for fuck's sake use some resources on modernizing Metroid Prime Trilogy!

It's stuff like this that makes me wish we could go back to a time before the internet when all these PC morons & SJW's didn't have a soapbox to stand on.
Yeah, I can't quite get into those games.
I think Kirby games keep getting made because they're both cheap to make and sell fairly well. They apeal to a large demographic. Same goes for the new slew of craftwork Yoshi games.
Compare those to something like F-zero, which is much more niche and I would imagine also more expensive to make, and it's not hard to see why these games keep getting churned out.
I'm actually more than a little miffed. It's nothing other than a price hike if you ask me. You could buy most WiiU games for €40-45 on release, now it's all €60-70. When you see that Indie's are being forced to charge €10 more because of the cartridge (which probably is already much higher than what the cartridges themselves cost), there's no excuse for game prices rising with double that amount.
Is this a Euro problem? Here in the USA the Switch games are the same price as Wii U games were.
Heads up anyone looking for another PS4 controller...I just noticed Amazon has PS4 pads on sale for $40 each. That's every color variant...there's like 10 different ones now.
I just bought one two weeks ago.
Yes, it doesn't affect you lot because you've been overpaying for years now. Games like Pikmin3 and Splatoon released for a paltry €40 here. Now finding a game for €50 is considered a deal.
And not just portable Kirbys, they get made for home consoles time after time.
Do they? I find this pink formless blob repulsive, it's literally one of the worst game characters I've ever seen. I don't see how Fzero would be considered more niche, or neccesarily harder to make, given how Shinen is a 5 man team and did FAST RMX.

U games here could be bought for around £35 and now Switch games are anything between £45-55. But I did get Lego City for £35. Maybe retailers here are bumping up the price of 1st party games?
On how, after promising to have a steady stream of releases from Nintendo for Wii and Wii U and not quite hitting the mark Nintendo seems to be doing so with Switch:
First, it was a dedicated focus coming out of Wii U to make sure that we had the steady cadence of games. As I look at Wii U from a business perspective, that’s the one thing we were not able to do as well as we hoped. So it was clearly a priority.
Second, we have many more developers today working on our content than we did five years ago or even 10 years ago.
...we have a lot more development staff than we did at the beginning of the Wii U generation and certainly throughout the Wii generation.

I welcome you to the global economy! Isn't it great?
Anyone noticed how games were being shown off in 4K a lot at E3?
No one question that? I mean, that most gamers wont be buying a 4K XBOX and wont own a 4KTV. So what does it look like on PS4 and XB1 original? It's always going to look great when they show it off at 4K on expensive systems you probably wont own. But now you wont get an early idea of what it looks like on the normal systems you own (on reveal)

Aoife: Watch out, it's a Bullet Bill!
Chris: Eeeeee! Eeeeee!
Aoife: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Chris: No! No! No! So far my response has been: throw a cap at it. OK, just as planned...
[BOTH GASP]
Aoife: What? What did you do?
Chris: So. Oh my god it has!
Aoife: It's got a little mustache!
Chris: That's the best thing I've ever seen.
Aoife: Do it again! Do it again! Fly through those golden rings. That is awesome! Weeeee!
Chris: I'm conflicted because I want to look at his mustache.
[A FEW MINUTES LATER]
Aoife: Oh my gosh, look at the wall!
Chris: Oh my god, tell me that you have to... You do! This is so cool!
Aoife: OK that's amazing ohmygod
Chris: Video games are great. Video games are just great.
Aoife: Video games are the best. I... This is amazing.
Chris: Games are good. Games are so so good. They should keep making them.
