Nope. Half-Life 3.
For anyone about to get their Switch in a few hours, enjoy!
Me, I'm gonna wait til I can just casually walk into a store and pick one up... if at all.
I'm 70 hours into NiOh and I just got Horizon too; with NieR near, Mass Effect in a few weeks and Persona 5 coming soon too, I'm not feeling the need for Zelda or a new system in the least. This will be the first Nintendo system I don't get at launch and I don't mind at all. 'Sides those desynching controllers and other typical launch window woes aren't things I feel like dealing with.
Everyone else, HAVE FUN! Jerk a virtual udder and think of me tomorrow!
Heck, on the game quantity front, I splurged over the November-December period, making catch-up purchases on a lot of Xbone/PS4 games (as well as a PS4 Slim), most of which I haven't touched yet. And then there's Nioh, which I'm uncertain of, just because it may not be similar enough to Dark Souls/Bloodborne. No way, no how am I in good enough condition to be buying another new console. But, knowing me, a Switch will be had at some point.
My horizon review is up!
Tons of people at best buy when I drove by at 10pm, I assume they all have it preordered...
March once again proves itself to be the greatest month of the year.
my switch was dispatched at 11pm last night
There is no synching issues with the joycons. It's interference, especially with the left joycon. GAFs Thraktor has examined the internal pics of both joycons and it seems the right one has a large metal plate as a physical antenna, whilst the left one is hidden. Some users have said that the day 1 update fixed the issue. Some others say it hasn't.
Personally I think that its because of the small size of the joycons, most of the surface area will be covered over by larger hands when using the joycons outside of the grip. My phone, even this morning, had patchy bluetooth to my speaker, even though it was 1mm away from it, literally touching it, because the back was covered by the speaker. Other Switch users have found that using the charging grip boosts the wireless signal and sorts the problem.
The kickstand is a non issue - it's designed to snap off so you dont break it by putting the switch in the dock while its extended. Think about that though, if it is designed to re-attach, then a third party will release a replacement that is better and it will cheap as heck given that its just a piece of plastic.
The switch itself Ian super sleek and sexy, what a great screen. The joycons are so tiny, I can't use them like a controller for one, when holding both it's better. The controller dock thing feels cheap and flat, not the best way to play. The switch dock is a crap piece of plastic. It feels super cheap but the screen is nice. Switching isn't so easy and great. Eshop has 9 games lol.
It's really hard sometimes to get what you are saying when your phone is messing things up.
So switching isn't easy? Then you say it's great?
iphooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnneeee!!!!!!!!!!!!
C'mon GG, surely you can glean "is" from that? Maybe Ian is super sleek and sexy.
Still waiting on the game to update. Bah!
Who is Ian and is Vader stroking his freshly shaved body?
I got a text, Switch is coming today. It is out for delivery. Schweet.
Sleeping Dogs movie starring Donnie Yen announced
Can we all just stop gaming for a second to talk about how awesome Donnie was in Rogue One?
My friend who isn't an asian movie fan said that he virtually upstaged the rest of the cast. He was charasmatic compared to all the other characters. His English is better than ever - last time I heard him was in Shanghai Knights.
And cleverly his character wasn't far from typical martial arts stereotypes. I hope he gets a sold Star Wars movie.
If anyone is interested I can recommend some good movies he's in.
Anyone seen the Yooka Laylee videos recentely.
I saw one and I thought, yep that's an N64 game.
But it wasn't in a good way. Some of the levels are awfully flat and large with not much actual platforming in them. Maybe it was unrepresentative? It dialled down my hype. The music and visuals and HUD all evoked Rare platformers though, which was cool.
At the moment I'm leaning towards Snake Pass being better.
First impressions from unpacking the Switch in a garage while waiting for a crack in my window to be fixed:
It's friggin' small. Pictures don't do it justice. I dont have a problem with the size of the Joycons, although buttons and sticks are smaller than on a home console. Setup is smooth, the UI is very clean as to even seeming contemporary. Attaching/detaching joycons is easy enough, although they say you should do it without pushing any buttons. Good luck with that, the Joycon is covered all over in all sorts of buttons! The joycon rail on the main unit seems to be in metal, but the part on the Joycon itself is in plastic. I'm concerned about how well this will hold up over the years. When attached there is no wobble between the different parts, something I feared. attaching/detaching the straps is a lot more difficult, I had to apply more force than I was comfortable with.
Carts are tiny as well, and a bit shaped like pills. No wonder Nintendo took steps to prevent them being eaten. I haven't licked one yet.
I've downloaded the demo of Snipperclips. I plan on buying 12Switch as a digital download. You can link your WiiU/DS 'points' to the Switch, so no more being stuck with ā¬3.26 on old systems. Haven't played any games yet, nor tried the dock. I might not even be able to try docked mode untill I get back from my holliday on the 12th.
I arrived at the store early, there were 2 other guys in their mid thirties also waiting to get a Switch. We all ended up buying the exact same thing: Zelda, a pouch with screen protector and a grey Switch. I was tempted to get a neon set, but as the other guys said: we intend to play this thing out and about. It'll be nice to not be scoffed at for once for playing a Nintendo handheld in public space.
I'm definitely interested in Snake Pass, although I think the game will drive me insane. A platformer that doesn't allow for jumping? This will not compute well with my gamer brain, which has been hardwired for 3D platformers ever since the days of the N64.
I saw the official video today, with the joycon straps. When you disconnect them there is a separate release catch near the bottom you have to press.
Don't force them off if you haven't unlatched them.
