I downloaded The Crew. Played a very small portion of it. It seems ok, nothing great but ok. I prefer Forza Horizon myself.
I just had a Eureka moment with Starfox Zero controls.
Played the demo again for about the 4th time, all 4 vehicles and they are a ton of fun to control once you get used to them. Usually you'd expect Nintendo to simplify controls, instead here they have given you an almost unparelled level of control to these vehicles which allows you to do crazy stuff, which is satisfying to do as you know it was your skill and not the game assisting you to pull it off.
With the chicken walker thing and tank it almost turns the training area into a platformer where you can shoot things, sort of like Jet force gemeni but with uber controls. The Gyrocopter is so accurate to control, wish more devs would use this for helicopters in their games.
So the main problem was the Arwing controls and playing again I suddenly got very quickly more skilled and flowing more. Sweeping about shooting things.
Also although you cannot invert the sticks in the demo, I missed the option where you could turn motion control off. (It's in the top right corner of the touch screen in the demo). And yes, then the game controls exactly like classic starfox, which makes more sense and feels more comfortable right? Well..... no.
Actually losing motion control and having your movement locked to your aim felt incredibly restrictive. Flicking motion controls back on I could see what you could do with them on. You can be on the complete opposite side of the screen whilst having full aiming all over the screen with no restrictions. Going back to traditional controls feels like going back to the stone age after doing that. And like I said above the level of detail in the controls is crazy, so you've got your ship position on the left stick, aiming with the motion controls, the right stick can tilt your arwing or do barrel rolls, but it can also be used as a brake and throttle. So you've got 3 different control mechanisms at work at the same time and at first you'll be all butter fingers. Once I got used to I was doing crazy shit and just enjoying the demo just for the way I could control and move everything.
I'm thinking about getting this game now.
The campaign in XCX is much shorter than XB Wii. You can do it in less than 30hrs if you want.
Why does everyone always feel the need to add that statement? Is there any country were throwing shoes at someone is considered a compliment? I'm pretty sure that's a universal sign for " go fuck yourself".
I keep reading this bit, and keep laughing. That would be a swell country to live in, actually.
But seriously-ish, there is something about middle eastern countries and the bottom (soles) of the feet that is deeply offensive on almost a primal level, way beyond a regular "fuck you" expletive. You can offend someone from there just by pointing your shoe sole at him inadvertently.
Kids, they must have the absolute best timing for screaming for something and knocking on your bedroom door...
Aww. Did they wake you up?
Legendary Pictures is making a Detective Pikachu MovieIt will be Live Action and it isn't what everyone thought about a Live Action Pokémon movie
wtf is this??
Remember when they toppled Sadamns statue? Then the crowd all took off a shoe each and started smacking the statue.
Actually he should have picked up the shoes, sniffed them deeply and said: "smells like victory"

I was intrigued by it. It has promise in a arcade racer type thing, but only if there is an online community to back it up.
Can never reach Burnout Paradise, which is likely what it was shooting for.

Going to see these guys in a few months. Can't wait.
Here's the list of June 2016's top 10 selling games.
NPD is now tracking digital sales as well. Which means the PC is taken into account for the first time in a loooong time.
Anyone here played the original Disney Infinity? I've seen the base game on sale for €10, with extra figurines for €2. I'd assume that it's a good game for kids, but I know nothing about the gameplay. Is it a world building game, or is there a decent single player/co-op campaign?
I'm not too optimistic about Nintendo's future in mobile games. People point to Pokémon Go as an example of what Nintendo brings to the table. But GO isn't a Nintendo game, they didn't develop it, and frankly, I don't think they could have made, or will make, anything like that themselves. I believe their own mobile games will be much smaller in scope and ambition, more conservative. Once they release AC and FE, their stock value will diminnish again as people notice that no, not even Nintendo can catch lightning in a bottle and keep it there for months or years at a time.
I don't see Pokemon Go as being ambitious or wide in scope. It was made by an ex-google unit that was tasked with making games that used Googles map systems. The game itself is not ambitious, it's AR, graphics have basic characters, there are no environments or anything. You just walk towards a map location and throw pokeballs at basic character models to collect them. Also don't forget that Nintendo was involved with development at a basic level and owns parts of both Niantic and The Pokemon Company. They invested a large chunk of cash into Niantic for this game.
EDIT: Also the share price inflation is more to do with the potential of Nintendo IP in the mobile market and the potential revenue derived from that.
