Small update on my Surface woes: I somehow got the stylus working again (I think).  Turns out the keyboard just died on me, it won't work on any device, and other keyboards work on mine.  Sounds cheap enough to resolve.  were it not for the fact that there is NOT A SINGLE pro2 azerty type cover on sale on the whole of the internet*.  Sad

* 'the internet' is narrowed down to popular sales sites, as per example ebay

What bothers me most about No Man's Sky is how big the universe is.  According to the EG preview, there are 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 planets.  I don't even know how to read that number out loud.

There's no possible way to have that many detailed worlds. Most of those I'm sure are just background noise.

I think that's more the total number of potential randomly generated planets that could exist rather than actually do. There's no way players could ever visit them all, so there's no logic to make that many, nor is it really even humanly possibly to create that many. Kind of the way that they've said no one will ever see all the randomly generated worlds in Minecraft.

I can't say I'm interested in playing the game, but it's still fun to watch what is going to happen with it. I do think it will end up being very popular with the Minecraft crowd, but offer them something other than a cloned experienced. So I'm predicting in 2 years we'll be seeing No Man Sky shirts, toys, and the like that will be very popular amongst 8 year old kids.

How do people love Broforce, it's stupid. It's tiny random levels with random scattering of enemies and a random hero you pick as you randomly shoot your way to the end of the tiny stage. There is nothing to it. It's dumb.

Wut?

Nintyfan17 said:

It is an affectionate parody of 80s and 90s American Action Movies.

Also the theme song is so awesome.

Broforce is the wettest of your wet dreams, Vader...!? It's like every summer action movie and hero rolled into one game...!? It's NOT random levels. The enemies are all placed in the same place every time; you can be very creative on how to take them out though... Their reactions are absolutely PRICELESS too. Screaming when you throw explosives near them, or when you set them on fire, or when they are crushed by a truck, or when you set their HQ's on fire... It goes on and on...! The levels grow longer the more you get into it and, from what I have heard, there are stages specific to certain Bros to challenge their skill-sets... Here's a quick clip.

Just went up against the final boss in Darkest Dungeon and had my ass gloriously handed to me. Despite a party of maxed out characters I was complete anhilated and put up what would be best described as a minor annoyance. I'm quite sure I'll never be able to beat this game. And with that, it is March 4th and I've yet to complete any games this year.

Expectations mount for NX in 2016

After that NIntendo Direct I don't even think that's in question. Tokyo Illusions or whatever the Atlus game was originally an October release and they pushed it way up. I know a large reason for it is because they skipped the dubbing, but I'm pretty sure Nintendo wants all the Wii U games released and out the door before the NX launches.

Teslagrad sequel announced, no platforms mentioned

Hey maybe the developers will take some time and properly test and debug the sequel. That'd be neat.

Change in attitude happened a long time after neg button was gone. And plus button was then, and still is, just as convenient thing for people to gang up anonymously on others with. Someone posts something, someone disagrees, and one post has 50 pluses, and one 0. I don't see how that's better than one post having 25 negs, and one having 25 positives.

Say it with me - one is negative, the other is p-o-s-i-t-i-v-e.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is now the official name for what was originally announced as Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem.

Nintendo announced that because the game takes place in Japan they will not dub it in English.

The fuck is this cat pic?

Raciiiiiist.

Anyhow anyone notice how recent Nintendo rumours have come true lately? Nintendo has leaks now, which it never really had before. Could that Geno NX stuff be legit?

Even more worryingly is that having so many planets reduces the chance of EVER meeting anyone on your playthrough is negligable.  Say the game sells 10 million copies, and everyone visits 1000 planets.  That means that only 1 in 1,844,674,407 planets will ever be discovered.  What's the point in playing the game online, if chances are so small that you're much more likely to win the lottery than to encounter another human player?

Perhaps player density will be higher near the end of the game, as everyone will be heading towards the center, but how many people will stick with the game for so long?  How many will just settle on one planet and never leave?

This is the interesting bit for me. Even if chances are slim, the moment someone finds another player is going to be a momentous occasion.
