Lex: "A three syllable word for any thought too big for small minds."
I agree... but there's a couple of things in there that worry me too...
People complain that Nolan's movies are too "dark" and I tend to agree. The line where Superman and Batman (after being save by Wonder Woman) go back and forth, ending in: "I thought she was with you." It seems out of place. I hope they don't try to inject humor in there artificially. In all the other trailers (and most of this one) they are at each other's throats... suddenly they are joking with one another... Kinda awkward. Either stick with your vision or do away with it gradually; don't try to be The Avengers. It's not going to work the same.
Not too enthused by the latest batch of stages to be honnest. The best stages feature one or 2 central area's that are fought over for dominance, or resemble a sort of tug o' war with a big skirmish in the center. This one seems too large and very flat with little vertiality, like camp triggerfish. Museo D'Alfonsino is also too big and has too many nooks and crannies for turf wars in my opinion. It fares much better in ranked play though, where everyone's focusing on one part of the map;
I love Camp Triggerfish. The Museams problem is too many unpaintable surfaces and that you have to dominate the central piller to do anything.

There are two items on the agenda today. The first is question for you regarding the availability of Kickstarter rewards on PayPal and the second is a recap of Mr. Suzuki’s lecture at CHUAPPX Expo.
KICKSTARTER REWARDS ON PAYPAL Rewards labeled as “Kickstarter Exclusive” have not been offered on the PayPal site because we felt it was unfair to offer them after the Kickstarter had ended. There have been many requests, however, for certain rewards like the S3 World Telecom to be offered on the PayPal site. We would like everyone to weigh in and tell us what you think. If there is a strong consensus either way, the rewards will either remain as Kickstarter Exclusive, or will be offered on the PayPal site. Keeping our promise to you is very important to us; but at the same time, the PayPal site was set up precisely because fans could not back the Kickstarter and they feel they should not be penalized for that.
We have tweeted a poll so you can vote on the question. Please let us hear what you think! CLICK HERE for the Tweet Poll.
Next up, we have an abridged version of Mr. Suzuki’s talk at CHUAPPX.
Hello Everyone,
As you may know, I have recently spent a little time in China to promote and do research for Shenmue 3. I was able to give a give a presentation at the Chuapp X 2015 on the beginning of how I first started making Shenmue, the changing of the times along with the changes in technology, and the work flow of Shenmue 3’s production. I would like to share a portion of that presentation with you here.
There are eleven chapters that make up the story of Shenmue, and those chapters are the basis for the games. Shenmue 1 comprised of Chapter 1, and Shenmue 2 focused mainly on Chapter 2, but also incorporated parts of Chapters 4 and 5. The composition for Shenmue 3 has been finalized, and will begin with Chapter 5 as the continuation of Shenmue 2, to move on past Chapter 6. The story has been written to align with this structure; and the planning for the game elements that will go along with the story have been completed. This project was conceived to be scalable, since the game would necessarily need to be adjusted based on the Kickstarter. Once the Kickstarter was complete and the budget for the project determined, a detailed work flow was produced to fit within those constraints. Following along with the game work flow, we have now begun our baseline research work with UE4. I find this to be the most exciting phase of the game development. Having completed the baseline research, we will then move on to the GDD (game design document) and TDD (test-driven development) processes. Once these steps have been completed, actual production will begin.
Scenes from the prototype. The forest in Shenmue 2 was created using the Magic Maze System With UE4, weather changes and forest density will be improved.
A test model room within UE4. A shadow resembling Ine-san’s is present. Why do you suppose that is?
The basic systems have been put in place and we are currently testing the Destruction (when objects break) and High Ground (environmental interactivity) effects. Unlike the development from 15 years earlier, we have assets already available to us and we are in an era where we can create prototypes even without a programmer. Programs, artwork and planning have become more closely related, realizing a new type of work flow for a new age. This new work flow utilizes both game engines, which used to be very expensive, and allows for work to be done on a more open, individual basis. I hope this will lead to everyone more fully enjoying their work.
This concludes today’s update. I hope you all will continue to follow along with us through the process. Thank you very much.

Having been to both Guilin and Kowloon puts these games and environments in perspective for me. Kowloon is nothing like the Kowloon in Shenmue 2, maybe in the 70s....
As for Guilin, only the Li River looks like the ancient fabled lands, most people in Guilin live in the city of Guilin and it's not ye olde and artful. It's a modern busy city and you have to go pretty far to get out into the wilderness.
I didn't realize you did! Did you play Terraria? I thought someone here did... SUPER stoked about it coming for 3DS so soon!!!
I have it for mobile, but the controls really through me. I'll give it another shot on 3DS or Wii U though. Or hell, I'm getting the kids a new PC for Christmas. It's not a gaming quality PC and I won't be playing Fallout 4 on it, but there's nothing taxing about Terraria so maybe I'll give it a shot there.
The batman v superman trailer was easily the worst of the bunch. It was a mess in tone and structure, the movie doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. It's super cool to have doomsday but he looks like a LOTR troll, bad cg, it looked cheesy. The best part of the trailer was Bruce and Clark verbally sparring, so the story could still be good.
I have hopes it will be awesome but this could easily spiral out of control. Look how WW gets introduced to the team, with a quip and a shrug. Also the money shot of the three together looks off, batman looks dumb with a gun, superman looks like he has no clue what to do with his hands.
The few people who I know that are interested in DariusBurst are split into two groups:
(1) The people who bought it and absolutely LOVE it.
(2) The people who can't get over the fact that it is a $60 digital game and refuse to get it digitally. (As if there will be another way to get it.)

I'll admit, even I got sticker-shock there for a moment when I realized the $40 price was for the Vita version alone and the PS4 version was $20 more. Then I remembered how much I loved the Darius games on Genesis, SNES, PSOne and onward and I knew what I had to do!
Exploring the game a little bit more absolutely justifies the purchase, albeit a bit more than expected. It is PACKED with content! At quick glance, the game comes with the original Darius Burst arcade game, complete with fish battleship and chooseable difficulty paths through the systems. It comes with a remixed Burst EX mode with improved graphics and sound... Both of those are practically games in themselves... but --HERE'S-- the kicker:
Chronicles Mode in itself is --FANTASTIC-- ! ! ! You are assigned an Arcade "Cabinet". You share this cabinet with other players online. This is where the 3000 stages come into play. You have to work together to "liberate" quadrants of the solar system you are assigned to and the galaxies they are in. They often have rules about what ships you can take in, or what weapons you can use, or whether you can go in alone or with a second, local player. Once someone clears a stage, it becomes available to everyone else on that cabinet! The Highest Score for that quadrant is also displayed for other players to see...
This all adds to a tremendous old-school arcade feel and competitiveness that is literally not found anywhere else! This is all done while SHMUP fans also cooperate with each other at the same time!!
Modern shoot-em-ups are usually 5 or 6 stages and rely solely on Score-Attack to keep players interested. This has thousands of stages, co-op and competetive play, leaderboards, mode remixes and more... such an INCREDIBLE value for fans of this genre!! WORTH. EVERY. PENNY!!

My daughter has over 150 hours in Terraria PC. When I showed her the 3DS trailer she freaked out. I'm sure I'll be picking it up shortly.
That shot was awesome.
I liked a lot of lines from the trailer.
Lois: "You're psychotic!"
Lex: "A three syllable word for any thought too big for small minds."
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
I never really got into those futuristic type racers. Tried to with F-Zero and Wipeout but they just never did anything for me.
I agree... but there's a couple of things in there that worry me too...
