Nintendo signposted the digital event. Everything they showed was only for the next 6 months. So we know nothing about their 2016 lineup aside from Zelda. They will do a couple of Nintendo directs between now and then.

Xbox only had 4 years though, so if they do support U in 2016 that would match that. Personally I think they need to launch a new system sooner rather than later, make it compatible with the U pad and games and offer a discount to existing U owners.

I didn't read it as an apology.  Just an 'ok, we hear your opinions and will try even harder'.  As for Blastball: they shouldn't have slapped the Metroid name on it.  It won't sell more copies because it says metroid on the box, but it will get on the nerves of many a Metroid fan.

LOL....totally agree that game looks horrible. If you're not going to make a real METROID game, don't make any. In fact, Nintendo needs to ease up on the lame spinoff games on ALL their franchises, because that Zelda title looks shitty too.

If you read the article, it says Cheesemeister (the GAF guy on twitter - cool guy) mistranslated it and the real translation was:

"Thank you for your feedback. We hear you and we are committed to continuing to meet your expectations" was essentially his message.

Looking back, last year Nintendo said that they were doing spin off games to fill the schedule with more games. Games like Captain Toad work but the other spin offs are less successful. But, importantly this a very direct result of 3rd parties skirting around Wii U like a steaming dog turd - and 3DS to a lesser extent. Otherwise Nintendo would not have to spin off franchises to put out questionable games - to fill out the schedule.

IMO and I think you would agree with me here - they should have broken into the piggy bank to make more high quality exclusives but that would hurt the bottom line and lead to invester unrest and unfavourable headlines about how Nintendo is still taking losses.
