Nice of them to finally tackle this crap. Teslagrad will go down as an infamous disappointment to me. There was a really solid game here, but it was one of the buggiest games I've ever played. It was freezing and crashing due to something almost 30 minutes or so.
That's good to know! I bought this when heavily discounted a while ago but haven't tried it yet. It would be nice if it got fixed before I get around to trying it.

I think you will like it. It's very much Limbo meets Metroidvania. Not quite as many surprise deaths, though there are still a few. And despite being similar to Limbo I was actually enjoying it for a while. Shame the developers don't have a budget for Q&A.
So I think one of the biggest hurdles this game has is how no one has an identity. Core gameplay is fantastic, super fun. But with online games you need to ask what makes you keep playing. It's the drive to be good right? To win matches, to dominate. Or to get revenge, to feel like you can finally overcome that guy who is better than you. in other games I take note of how has killed me and who dominates.
With splatoon it feels like no one has an identity. I have no clue who I am shooting at, I don't know who killed me or who is do,imaging a match. And once it ends you are shuffled into a new group usually, another group of randoms. The level progression will help with giving a goal to keep playing but what else. I didn't see any stat tracking?
Eh? This is what most shooters feel like at first.
P.S. It's okay for Destiny to release without half of its content but not Splatoon?

Not ones that gave me a free game and best buy actually ended up paying me to play, never once cared to own MArio kart.
So you don't keep the good ones...got it.
I guess that is true. Since everyone looks the same and you aren't really focused on killing people I never can tell who I am fighting against. Using destiny as an example you can clearly tell who killed you and see if he is on a streak or so. The camera focuses on him, the announcer yells out to let you know, and I had many battles where my personal goal became to fuck over the one douche on the other team. That's some of the most fun I had with the game. maybe in time I will learn to focus on who is doing what but the game makes it distracting. GG you say the camera focuses on who killed you, I wouldn't know cause I was looking down on the pad to see where I should re spawn, like you are supposed to. Also this mode is admittedly not about kills.
As for destiny don't even, it had over 10 maps at launch with like four game modes. All the skills were available at launch. You can connect with friends all you want. The core game had tons of hours of content. It didn't lock you into 2 maps evey four hours, wtf is that crap. If I am going to play a session I plan to sit there and play for hours, I don't do tiny sessions, wtf is that. the game basically limits you to two maps a session, and who knows when you come back it maybe the same two you played last.
So now no one is getting splatoon? Well shit. I will wait and see on the story mode, if it's excellent I will buy at launch, if not I will wait.
Maybe, if I have some leftover funds by the end of the month. I loved the demo, just soured on Nintendo's decision to hold back on certain modes until months later. I'm still interested in the sp and limited mp.
I don't really think it's a matter of them holding back features. I suspect it's more about not everything being ready, but they need to have it out before the games slotted for the summer and E3.

Most of the modes are playable to the media. Tower mode that won't come till August was shown in the direct and it looked awesome. If it was a weekly release schedule it would be fine, but months? August? I am way done with the game by then
With all the Splatoon talk on here you'd think it was going to be the goddamn GOTY.

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu

Not GOTY, OOGOTY.
One of the Only Games Of The Year.
Splatoon.
Witcher 3.
Metal Gear.
Batman.
Battlefront.
That's pretty much it.
OOGOTY!

It seems collective Splatoon anticipation here went from sky-high to just "meh" in a matter of hours...way before its actual release date.
It's really sad to see that even Nintendo going with the industry standard of "ship it now, fix it later" BS.

Info on the new Igarashi game in my death and rebirth topic!
Edit: Deserves a topic unto itself, gonna keep the original for announcements of other new games by old developers or new Indies with classic ideals!
The first time a Direct has fucked a game over.
That was my thought, " Not this shit again!"
I decided a while back that I'm no longer going to buy unfinished games. As much as I want to buy Splatoon, I'm going to wait until August.
I just want Xenoblade 2 and Zelda...Splatoon can eat dingleberries.
BTW why is nobody listing Xeno as a GOTY contender?
Because everyone will get sidetracked with other stuff or bored before finishing it.
