Yep. And that's where they could win. Nintendo can't support two systems by themselves, but they could manage one. If all the 3DS and Wii U games were available for the same system.... that'd be a killer library.

This is already a lock, the new systems are going to share similar operating systems. And they are unifying tech and software terms more closely.
Yes, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut there will still be console only snobs who will look down their nose at portable type games without mega AAA production values on consoles. For them, having 3DS games on Wii U or the next gen equivalent won't count. Unless they cost mobile phone prices.
This would still be an underpowered machine though, if all games have to work on a lesser handheld. So how is this better for the console guy?
They could put all their handheld games on the Wii U right NOW if they wanted to. They don't need a new console for that.
Would be great for the handheld guys....not so much for the console guys wanting more than Nintendo games.
Nintendo will never make a high-powered console again. 3rd party support is a pipe dream at this point, and Nintendo knows it. Nintendo has only themselves and indie devs to support their consoles now. Consolidation of their hardware and software is their only option. "Console guys" have Xbox and PS to satisfy their AAA needs.

My big reason for wanting a PS4 is coming soon. I'm pretty hyped for Batman. I was looking for sites that have payment plans and saw that Fingerhut has one with TLOU for $519. Yeah, $119 difference but the payment plans are for paying $35 a month. What do you guys think? Should I bite?
If $519 seems reasonable to you, then I say go for it.
Not sure if it's reasonable or not. I'm trying to justify that with TLOU, it should be $460, so only a $60 difference.

Walmart has it regular price, plus extra dual shock, plus CoD for $400. I can use PayPal to make monthly payments.
