Whoa! We haven't had a news week like this in quite some time. I wonder how Nintendo enticed Miyamoto and a few others to stay on board after all these years.
Oh Elliot Quest does look good.
And Nintendo should court Kojima to make a Metroid game....or Star Tropics.
No, get him to do something completely new and off the wall for them.
Star Tropics would be new enough. Oooooh or he could do Mach Rider with mechs!!!

For anyone about to start Final Fantasy Type-0 here's a little time saving tip: "Magic" in the game pretty much means weaponized spells for use in the world's military.
___________________________________________________________
Fire RF = Fire Rifle, for example. This "spell" fires a shot of fire in a straight line.
Blizzard BOM = Ice Bomb. This is just an ice explosion around the player.
Thunder SHG = Thunder Shotgun. This fires a spread of lightning in front of your character.
___________________________________________________________
There are Thunder RF spells and other variations like Fire BOM's as well. As well as some unique "weapons" for the elements:
___________________________________________________________
Fire ROK2 = A Fire Rocket
Blizzard MIS = An enemy-tracking Ice-MIssle
___________________________________________________________
There's non-elemental weapon/spells also like "Bio" for example. This is a very unique way of looking at the Final Fantasy "spells" and as they level up Fire, becomes Fira and Firaga, but within the context of the game, there's no real traditional "magic" ... It's really now just a weapon-like attack. It takes a bit of getting used to at first, so I thought I'd save some of you the trouble of trying to figure it out.
Anyone has any other questions on the game, ask; It's a bit daunting at first, but I think I've got a good handle on it now.
___________________________________________________________
There's going to be a lot of backlash against Type-0 I think, for a lot of reasons:
___________________________________________________________
(1) It's an UGLY game. It did start it's life as a PSP game, afterall.
(2) The story is --VERY-- dark. It's fashioned after war documentaries.
(3) This game was the origin point of the Fabula Nova Crystallis arc that contains the worlds of FFXIII and XV. You'll be reading A LOT about Fal'Cie, L'Cie and Cieth and all the fun plot stuff Square made up out of thin air.
(4) It's a ---VERY--- non-traditional FF game. It's all action. There's no "real" magic. 14 playable characters. A time-based structure where you're only allotted a certain number of hours before the story progresses, ready or not...
___________________________________________________________
...and yet, in spite of it all, it's STILL very addicting and playable. It takes a lot of risks, but it kinda all works. The characters are all unique and get to be very enjoyable to control. The mission structure is very rigid, but the side quests and action-battles are fun.
It is to the Final Fantasy series what Peace Walker was to Metal Gear. Could just be the common system of origin, but, nonetheless, I am intrigued by it!
Most people are probably going to be turned off by it at first, but stick with it, once you get it's nuances, it becomes a pretty damn good game!
Platinum? Atlus? From Software?
Speaking of Platinum: Bayonetta QTEs are some serious bullshit.

Whoops. I guess I should say major developer, one of the original big boys.
^ Vader! Watch the video i just posted!!
So I'm going to buy Elliot's quest. It's safe for me to buy right, it has one great review but it's just one review.
Check out the Steam Reviews then.
“Elliot Quest is an adventure worth taking”
8.75/10 – Zelda Universe
If Zelda universe says it's good I have to think its good.
Sold, I'll have impressions later.
So what does everyone think Kojima's next move will be when he leaves? If have a hard time seeing him partner with Microsoft. He doesn't make games for Nintendo, so...Sony? New production company?
I hope he's able to hook up with a big publisher who can bankroll his games. I'd really hate to see him go the indie gaming kickstarter route.
Has this actually been confirmed now? This is Kojima we're talking about, the publicity stunt dude.
It's just reported by Gamespot but I don't think Konami or Kojima have confirmed or denied anything yet.
