Just drove over a full can of beer in a tractor by accident.
Went everywhere.
The tractor seemed to enjoy it though.
Eurogamer is dropping review scores in favor of a sort of medal whereby they just give out a 'recommended','essential' or 'avoid' stamp. 4th catergory is games not receiving anything.
Not sure how I feel about this. I do find that scores these days tend to tip towards the higher end of the scale, but replacing it with this? They could have least used an alphabetical system. I fear that with the recent losses of Ellie Gibson and Tom Bramwell, this site is changing fast, and in my eyes, for the worse.

So it's a three point scale. The only thing more boring than a score is pretending your score isn't a score.

Well no, basically it's 4 point and not a scale. A scale would require that each 'point' cover an equal area of the spectrum, which isn't the case here. They're just telling you 'This is great', 'this is very good', 'we don't have a clear opinion on this' and 'this is crap'.
I've got 2 arguments going against picking this up day 1:
I've rekindled my enthousiasm to play 3Ultimate, which I got for free.
I fear that going straight from 3U into 4U I'd experience a burnout long before I've seen everything in the game.
Maybe they'll put it up on the eshop? Cut out distribution costs entirely. But I think they would have to get the localisation team off XCX and FF5 first right?
I'm actually not just posting them for you.
(1) Me, you, Robio and Bugsie are all fans.
(2) I am absolutely amazed the game is scoring so well, considering it is an original, new, numbered entry into the series made for a underpowered portable.
(3) This game is being received better by critics than that other New 3DS launch title... what was it's name...? The Legend of something, something...

Bugsie isn't a fan. He got 3U for free as I did, and as far as I'm aware, he hasn't even touched it yet. I for one find it refreshing that the game isn't being negatively affected by it's platform. And the demo was a thing to behold. The monsters looked very good, fully selfshadowed and everything. As for that other game, with that dorky kid in green, it's a remake and it's age shows, I didn't expect it to score any better than it is doing really.
'Kay then, replace Bugsie with Archie and my original point still stands!
I'm actually more excited for MH4U and Xenoblade on New 3DS, than Majora...
I just hope they tweeked the diffculty of Xeno on 3DS a bit as the one on the Wii got boring... quickly...
...and, frankly, after seeing these...
...I'm MORE excited for the 3DS Xeno than the Wii U game... Seriously WTF is up with these characters?! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me these are made in some kind of character creation thing and are not the actual characters themselves!!
Ok: there is character creation. Happy now? I don't think you can change the physique of your party members though. Just of the main character.
I also have some doubts about X. It seems very far removed from what Chronicles was. But since Chronicles was so good, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

MH4U looks pretty incredible, but I'll be waiting for a sale or something later in the year. I satiated my appitite for Monster Hunter with 3U. Plus, I made a pledge not to buy anything new for the first 6 month of the year unless it was with money I already had in my eShop account (which is sadly empty after Punch Out and Mario Galaxy 2). I'll happily read reviews though and enjoy thinking about playing it though.
