Yeah I need to get back to that. I watched the first episode and enjoyed that. I'm thinking of watching Attack on Titan next, that looks pretty good.
You're welcome Akiko Kuroda.
Yes that would be my other suggestion, for anyone here. I think we'd all like that one. I'm on my 2nd viewing now.
Fairy Tail gets a lot better during the Galuna Island arc, before it seems episodic
Wait the guy from around the world in 80 days is named phileas fogg. Aspro what is your name???
I highly recommend watching Kill la Kill soon, Archie. It's my favorite anime; Kill la Kill is to me what FMA:B is to GG. You can watch all 24 episodes Crunchyroll for free right now.
Shh.
Yeah I remember you talking about that. I think it's on Netflix as well. Will check it out.
Not in the UK
I hear it's on Netflix here though. I have it on my rental list with amazon. It just came out, part 1, only 9 episodes though.
Apparently this is the most watched youtube movie of 2014. People in general have been watching too many horror and zombie flicks
How do you guys see Amiibos current situation now? Is Nintendo artificially creating higher demand through limited quantities? Would it like to sell more by supplying more or is it happy with the buzzy headlines about $25'000 legless Peaches being sold on Ebay?
New waves are selling out regularly and what do you think about store specific Amiibos? Why even have them? Are they going to use them as leverage to get more shelf space or promotions in stores?
To me, Amiibos were already too expensive, seeing how all these figures are selling out and may be impossible to collect, puts me off even more. Seriously the Villager from Animal Crossing is already discontinued?
^Still not sure on how I feel about them. I think that their implementation in Smash is terrible. It's a nice idea, but it discourages buying your favorite fighter, as that means you'll be stuck fighting 'yourself' a lot. Which will happen to me, as I'm getting a Marth figurine from my son for Christmas.
I don't think Nintendo is artificially creating shortages. This is a new market to them, they had no idea of how many units they were going to shift. Also, with so many figurines I can understand if they were to stick with conservative estimates as to not be stuck with surplusses of the lesser known characters. Store specific characters seem to be limited to the US and UK, where these pratices seem more common. Every big game seems to have some store specific DLC in the US, and to a lesser extent in the UK. I have never seen anything similar like that happen here. I'm guessing it has to do with the power those huge retailers have in the US and how they are able to use that power to ask for perks. There seem to be 4 or 5 chains you can buy games at in the US, and that's basically it. Here in Europe the market is much more diverse, with each nation having its own specific retailers and big chains not having such a large slice of the total revenue.
I don't expect a lot of people seriously collecting them, as they're too expensive in comparision with the build quality to persuade adults. And for kids there isn't enough incentive as the Amiibo range lacks the clear gameplay benefits of, say, Skylanders.
With the shortages it seems like you'll never be able to get a half decent collection going. I would need to know that 2-4 years from now I could still get the (whatever) Amiibo figure. As it is... eh.

At least you don't have the humilation of being a Bears fan! Cutler and Trestman are so bad, I wear a bag over my head when watching at home by myself.

Impressive that the guy actually fills up the whole widescreen format.
They were freely available at launch in the US (according to the toy podcast and gaming podcasts I listen to). Only the short runs sold out fast (like Wii Fitness Lady).
I think this was a honest case of Nintendo underestimating demand. It happens. Happened with Sony's PS3 Eyetoy most recently.
EDGE must have had an editorial change in the face of magazine desperation. I remember not so long ago when every game got 6's. Now they give 9's to certifiably broken games.
IMO they should make sure that the lesser selling models are still availible to order from their website.
