When people were asking me today what my plans for the evening were, I couldn't answer. I mean, if I said what I was thinking:"I'm grabbing some beer and some sushi and going balls deep into Bayonetta" I think people would look at me funny. There's not many people **other than Edge** that could get away with making that statement and have it sound convincing...
I thought this wasn't releasing until Tuesday? I checked amazon & they said my copy of Bayonetta and The Walking Dead season 2 are both coming monday....weird.
Only took me about 5 hours, if I had known it was that short I would have played it years ago. Pretty fun side story, obviously not as ambitious as the original Alan Wake, but for what it is I had fun with it. 7.8 rating from me.
I just played the most awesome bit in Psychonauts so far. You're in the mind of this manic-depressive diva and the whole level plays out like some autobiographic play about her life and her relation to her mother, where you have to switch back and forth between happy and dark, twisted moods to make progress. The happy bits are a very naive hopefull take on her life, while the dark bits are mean and show her fear of being abandonned by her mother at an early age. There's also another storyline interwoven about how she fears the critics and doesn't want to act anymore.
Gameplay wise, it was rather tedious, one of the least enjoyable bits I've played so far. But storyline and level design were so masterfully interwoven that I can't help but be in awe. I'm even more impressed that they managed to cram all this in a 3D platformer, which is, if we're being honnest, not really the most deep genre in gaming.
LOL greatest thread of all time and he says he didnt even buy Brawl. GG you crazy.
I bought Brawl, played the subspace emisary for an hour, played one online match with Yoda and 2 other guys from here. Then stuffed it in a closet, never played it again and sold it on ebay. It's literally been 12 years since Melee, so yeah I am sort of in the mood for another Smash as I didn't really feel like playing Brawl at the time, too familiar. Maybe next generation I'll be itching after a new Halo, but right now I'm all Halo-ed out.
My GameStop only stocked enough copies to fulfill preorders. Sigh. No wonder Bayonetta won't sell!
I talked to a GS manager about this a while back and he said that's pretty much the policy for Wii U games. If its not Mario or Zelda they only order enough to cover preorders.
BTW guys I'm at a horror convention this weekend. Next week I'll have some pictures up but I just wanted to say that Japanese girls absolutely love tentacles. Its not just a stereotype anymore. It is now fact.

I understand it's just a wise business decision for them, but it's still disappointing.

Hmm, maybe I'll unzip my pants, paint my wang like a tentacle and go to one of these conventions. Let's see what happens.

It's been like this since day 1 here, no Wii U games to buy in stores. How can you sell a game that's never in stock?

I guess its a good thing its so easy to buy games online nowadays. Because that is just lame. If they did that for every game on every system, 90% of software would flop.
One of Microsoft’s development studios is working on a new IP, and it’s not a new racing game or “another military space marine game,” according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer.
From article:
Speaking with Gamespot, Spencer said instead the Xbox brand needs “new stories and new characters” which provide a “canvas to try new things.”
“[Sunset Overdrive is] a great example of that,” he told the site. “It’s a game that isn’t like anything else in our portfolio, and I think that’s great. I want to continue to invest in things that push the boundaries.
“I don’t need another military space marine game. I don’t probably need another racing game. In terms of trying things that are new and have a unique reason to be in our portfolio, it’s gotta be a commitment from us as a first-party, absolutely.”
While he wouldn’t elaborate on the new IP in the works or what RARE’s pitch entails, he implied there’s more than one “first-party internal and external studios” working on unannounced games.
When I was reading this article, I was actually thinking "Well if you guys are so desperate for more than just Halo and Forza why in the fuck have you NOT invested more funding into Rare?!"....Then they mention Rare right after my thoughts.
I just don't get it though when it comes to the Rare thing. Why in the world spend all that money on a studio with that much talent and that many great IP's that ALREADY EXIST, and do NOTHING with them besides have them turn into the avatar/kinect sports company? This is the biggest waste of resources I think I've ever seen in videogaming, outside maybe SEGA.
But even this article, that's all I've heard for years now is "oh gee, we don't want Rare to be known as the kinect guys". Well guess what...that's exactly what has happened! Microsoft should have been pumping that studio full of funding and whatever new talent they needed to replace the guys that left for 10 years now, and had them pumping out all their established IP along with whatever new stuff they could think up. Seriously, just a waste. And it makes me sad because Rare was once one of my top 5 studios.
Heh....I was talking about gaming with my mother yesterday and she actually says out of the blue "You know what game I used to love was that Conker game. It was so funny....They don't make those anymore do they?" And this is MY MOTHER!! Haha....the most vulgar game ever made has the mommy demographic...

Decent epidemic, but an absolute flop of a pandemic thus far.
Over-hyped and over-rated.
Nothing but disappointment so far.
i was singing that today.
Just finished Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

I win by default everytime, no need to question it.
Plus I had Conan gif.

Travo, use the L and R buttons on W101 to zoom in and out. After mission 1 buy the Unite Guts block move, then the avoid move.

Well, if Nintendo weren't such cheap asses, they would pay Gamestop to sell their games just like all of the other companies do.
