MCV: Has Nintendo's Wii U turned a corner?
There are a lot of conversations going on about what is coming next year. Splatoon is key, Captain Toad is one I’m looking forward to, and of course Zelda. mcvuk.com gamingeek
Pc gaming can go fuck itself. I want to play Dark Souls: there's a bug preventing you from saving. I want to play Psychonauts, it keeps shutting down after the opening cinematics. How people put up with this is beyond me.

Yes its crap like that that has kept me from leaving consoles behind. Despite the fact that when it works right the PC can be pretty incredible (like with Skyrim).
Is anyone here getting the Borderlands Prequel Sequel (whatever it's called) game? This is normally a pretty pro-Borderlands site, but I haven't heard anyone say a word about it. Come to think about it, I don't think I've heard anyone talk about it anywhere.
To Be honest, It Just seems like more of the Same to Me. And while that is not per se a bad thing, BL2 was generous enough as to not leave Me craving for more. That, and the pre-sequel Just doesn't look as enticing to Me. I think it's because the Main protagonists and the colour scheme seem distinctively more bland Than those of its predecessor...

I need a next gen Borderlands now. I'm hoping Battleborn will scratch that itch, but I don't think it's going to be the same style of game. LOOKS hot though!

I mentioned it last week. I'll certainly pick it up but not sure how long till I can.

Yeah...I've kind of gotten that "thanks but we're full" vibe from a few other fans I've talked to about the game. I'm curious to see what the sales will be. It's a little strange though. Once upon a time I thought Borderlands was ready to take over the world as the next mega franchise. I'm mean we've got Pre-sequel and the TellTale Borderlands game and there's just no buzz for them. Strange that so many people feel that way and yet we're on the 8th and 9th Assassin's Creed games in all of 7 years. Maybe everyone's just waiting for a proper next gen Borderlands.
It was originally my plan to play Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and Minish Cap to prepare for the release of Hyrule Warriors, but now that I've played most of HW, it made me want to go back and play the other Zelda's associated with IT. So, I've acquired Twilight Princess for the Wii again. It is amazing how much inspiration the devs of HW drew from Twilight Princess to make the Wii U game!
I do have some questions though: How does Twilight Princess stack up in the hierarchy of Zelda games? I know 8.8 Great, but how do people really feel about it? I think it looks amazing for a GameCube port, but I'm not sure I like the "realistic" look of it. How does it stack up gameplay-wise, next to Ocarina, Windwaker and Skyward Sword? I did play it back in the early days of the Wii, but I have next to no recollection of it. I think the fanboy backlash after the 8.8 kinda turned me off of it originally.
Vader, how are the dungeons, battle system, etc... Is it worth the time? I am pretty sure we have people that feel strongly FOR and AGAINST it, but I'd like to hear some opinions... without spoilers, please!
**I did get Skyward Sword again too, btw, so any opinions on that one are also welcomed!**
2014 has been the "Year of Zelda" for me so far, after finishing OoT for the first time and getting SOOO into Hyrule Warriors; I am on a roll now, so I might as well continue!
Again, I think this roll is gonna continue into 2015 too --BUT-- I'm putting my money down now and betting when and if Majora's Mask 3DS version is released, it'll be for the NEW Nintendo 3DS... between XenoBlade and that, I can't think of more hardcore "hooks" to get people to buy yet another version of the portable!
Fuck yeah, it's worth the time. It opens very, very slowly, but it has some of the best dungeons, music and bosses in a Zelda game. I love the combat in that game more than Skyward Sword. I truly felt like a badass.
Easily a ten in my book and my third favorite Zelda behind all time classics, OoT and MM. Well, I guess I'd squeeze ALttP in there as well.
I still need to finish Skyward Sword myself in fact I have a few Wii games to play. I kind of stopped playing the Wii and planned to play them on the Wii U when I got one. Well I now have one so.......
Does the Wii U make much improvements to playing Wii games on an HDTV?
With mindcontrol. May the Force be with you.

I always thought this kind of Mii based menu stuff was so basic and ugly.
Capcom themselves are a lower budget product these days. The Evil Within is going to blow away any of their big budget generic action fests. (I hope)

Travo was looking into it. I no longer have a PS3. Once I heard Persona was coming to 4, I ditched it. No Presequel for me...
But... but Leo.... how do you play Ultra Street Fighter IV?
I don't.

Borderland Pre-sequel isn't coming to current gen consoles? WTF?
Heheheh

I still get goosebumps thinking about fighting some of those bosses, not because of the difficulty, but because of how fun they were.

Games I have to play are:
Metroid Prime Trilogy looks pretty good. The colors don't run together like what usually seems to happen when you play old games on a hd TV.
