Aren't you the guy always complaining about how you want Zelda combat to be so much better etc? I thought you would be first in line for Hyrule Warriors.

Edge has published its Bayonetta 2 review, awarding Platinum Games' sequel 10/10.

The Wii U exclusive becomes only the 17th game to receive a perfect score from Edge since the magazine launched in 1993. Edge also gave 2009's original Bayonetta top marks.

image_307516_460.jpg Zoom

"You never tire of it, but how could you?" Edge's Bayonetta 2 review says. "This is a game that begins with Santa riding a car along the side of a building, continues with you summoning a demon to headbutt a meteor, and ends with the most joyously cathartic climax of any game since, well, Bayonetta.

"When the pace does dip, there is more than enough charm, wit and heart to take its place. It is a masterclass in combat design, in videogame variety, in the balance between accessibility and depth.

"Sure, it's a sequel, but it's a sequel to what has stood, for almost five years, as the best game of its type ever made. Until now, that is. Sega's loss is Nintendo's gain: Bayonetta, twirling away from a gigantic demon's maw and smacking the highest choir of angels on the nose, has just given Wii U its first true classic."

The full review can be read in Edge issue 272

Currently debating where I am going to move my credit to from my Hyrule preorder. Epic Leo topic NOT happening. Mordor very well could though!

That is not a Zelda and I don't think DW has good combat.  I will get the game one day.

You know, the more I see of Final Fantasy XV, the more it makes me think that it's going to be the Japanese Jersey Shore.

Believe it or not, I was more intrigued by the Dynasty Warriors elements than the Zelda ones. Dynasty Warriors games have sometimes over 100 playable characters of dramatically differing styles. They have a loot system where you can forge elements, skills and attributes to numerous weapons that the characters can equip. There's strategic outposts and forts you have to take over, over dozens and dozens of maps. You see the story from multiple sides of the conflict... It just goes on and on and on.

With Hyrule Warriors, the number of characters is in the teens. There's not a lot of enemy types. You are limited in the weapons the heroes can equip. There's no online. There's faaar less enemies on the screen at one time. They shoe-horned Boss battles in there that don't make sense... It's a shadow of a Dynasty Warriors game by comparison. They are releasing game modes after the fact as DLC that would normally come WITH Dynasty Warrior games...

...and all of these cuts are supposed to be acceptable because "ZELDA!"

...errr. No.

All valid points I suppose but right now it fits the exact need I have. Something familiar and something mindless. I've kind of burned myself out on strategy and puzzle games. Now I just want to button mash.

It looks like Zelda combat amped up. I hear it has Zelda style z-lock and uses many familiar Zelda combat items, it even has grapple points and stuff for using items outside of combat. To me it looks like one of those Zelda caves that throws tons of enemies at you. I'm not interested in that but I thought you were? *shrugs*

Are you even going to get Sonic Rise of Lyric? If not I don't know you anymore. Nyaa

Elder Scrolls 4 and Mass Effect should easily be in consideration over the games I mentioned. Also Dragon Age.
