I now have TLOU PS4. I traded in my PS3 copy at GS today. GS was a LOT better today than they were just a couple months ago. The new employees were courteous and helpful, and did not continue to push crap on me after I said "No thanks." If they continue like this, I may shop there more.

Like all industry insiders they probably read thevgpress, and noted your criticism.

Don't worry, they're gearing up to try to sell you their new credit card with 27% interest.

GS credit card = LOLLOLLOL

Anyhoo, I played some TLOU PS4, and it's noticably better than the PS3 version, but it's by no means the same leap that Tomb Raider PS3 was to Tomb Raider PS4. The framerate is the most improved, and there's no subtle jaggies like on the PS3 version. Load times are better, but not as good as I'd hoped as they are still quite long. Most of the textures do look sharper, but not more detailed. Everything else looks the same to me. It's not a big leap, but it's still a nice upgrade. Not sure if it was worth the $29 upgrade price I paid, though. Will play more this coming weekend.

Yup Tomb Raider was an almost exact copy of the PC version. The Last Of Us isn't a giant leap but its definitely the better version. Glad to have it on the PS4. Obviously they didn't put a ton of work into making it REALLY improved on the PS4, the only differences I see mostly are some nice wall textures and water effects, and character faces look a bit better. This game was already so awesome looking on PS3 that maybe it was just too much work for them to make it a real change?

Grand Theft Auto 5 on the other hand, you can really tell the PS4 version is night and day compared to the PS3 game. I always felt that game was a bit too much for the PS3 and 360 to handle anyway....and the new version just smokes it from what has been shown. Its too bad the Last of Us didn't see that kind of bump, but again the game looks so great anyway that its not a big deal.

... Nintendo are unifying their OS, so games should be cross platform at least, in the future.

Well, that's good news. Not sure how well that's worked out for Sony though. I mean, won't that just decrease their software sales?

It would be interesting to see. I think there are some console gamers who just do not buy portables and if they could play all Nintendo's portable games on their home console with improvements like better AA or increased frame rate etc they would be extra game sales and would bolster the home consoles release list. Making the home console more attractive in general to hardcore gamers. For the portables though, if people in general buy the "best" version and choose the home console to play it on, the portables may suffer.

I think Nintendo should make its own phone as their next handheld, whilst also selling legacy content, really older stuff on tablets/smartphones. Keeping the new stuff and cutting edge stuff on their new systems. No one really cares (I mean would be aggrieved or envious) if Super Mario World is released on iPad these days. Might as well rake in the profits.

See that is me.

I've had the 3DS and I have a handful of killer games for it, but I just can't get interested in PLAYING it. When I have all the consoles and a PC to play on my TV with surround sound, its hard to get excited about playing on a tiny screen. The 3DS games I have...if they were on the Wii U, I would have already played through them all.

That website sucks balls so fucking bad.

I used to LOVE that place....as many of you guys did. I hung out there every fucking day for years back in the early to mid 2000's. Great community, great reviews (IGN was always better for news and previews though). Then it was right around this time 10 years ago when they changed their forums and it started to get all uptight and robotic and shit.

After that, I didn't enjoy the atmosphere at all. And their reviews went to shit after Kasavin left.

Ancel starts his own studio but remains with Ubisoft Continues to tease Beyond Good and Evil 2

I loved Beyond Good & Evil back in 2003. It was a very underrated Zelda style adventure game. But all these years later, does anybody really give a fuck anymore? How many times can you tease a game before people tell you to fuck off?

At this point, some kind of spiritual successor with an actual GOOD title would be a better idea than a straight sequel to a very cult hit from over 10 years back.

I still love BGE and I want a new one, I also want Shenmue 3.

BTW Aussies, you should pick up Ace Attorney on DVD, you are very priviledged to get it there, it's not out in Europe, America or region 3. I have the choice of importing it from Japan for a fuckton of cash, or buying from Austrailia for slightly less of a fuckton of cash.

Oh yeah?  We'll see about that!  I'm on a mission tonight! : P

shenmue really needs a compilation disc. I never played the first because I never owned a dreamcast.  I didn't care to play the second one without playing the first.

This is weird.  There were all kinds of announcements about their taking down the servers for Demon's Souls a long time ago.  PVP shouldn't even exist anymore.  I hated it too but I'd be strangely pleased if that aspect of the game (as well as the whole world tendency thing) were not removed so that the game was still whole as originally envisioned.
